Description
本出願は、1999年10月15日に出願された米国特許出願第09/418,727号の一部継続出願で、1999年6月14日に出願された米国特許出願第09/333,074号の一部継続出願であり、1999年3月12日に出願された国際出願PCT/US99/05469の優先権の利益を主張する。
本発明は、血管系内より塞栓子を除去するための装置および方法に関する。より具体的には、本発明は、少なくとも1つの血液取り込みポート、および、ベンチュリ流が、介在性処置の間に、生成された塞栓子を除去するように誘導され得る閉塞部材、を有するカテーテルを提供する。
現在、介在性の処置、例えば、ステント配置、粥腫切除術、および血管形成術の間に、塞栓子の放出を減少させるための手段が講じられなければならない、という認識が増加している。これらの処置は、概して、血管層の下流部を閉塞し、そして虚血を引き起こし得る塞栓物質の放出という、高い危険性を示す。閉塞が危険な領域、例えば、心臓、肺、または脳、において形成したならば、結果として生じた虚血は、患者の健康または生命に重大な脅威を示し得る。
前述の観点では、本発明の目的は、以前に公知の塞栓子除去システムの不利な点を克服する血管デバイスを提供することである。
図1を参照すると、本発明の原理に従って構成された塞栓保護装置20が記述されている。装置20は、カテーテル21、静脈戻りライン32、管状物29および任意の血液フィルター30を備える。
Claims (4)
- 血管を処置するための装置であって、該装置は以下:
近位端、遠位端、該近位端での近位ポート、該遠位端での遠位ポート、側表面、および該近位ポートと該遠位ポートとの間に延びる管腔を有する、カテーテル;
該遠位ポートの近位の位置で該カテーテルの該遠位端に固定された、第1の閉塞部材;
該第1の閉塞部材の近位の位置で該カテーテルに固定された、第2の閉塞部材;ならびに
該第1の閉塞部材の近位でかつ該第2の閉塞部材の遠位の該側表面に配置された、少なくとも1つの血液取り込みポートであって、該血液取り込みポートを通して介在性デバイスを処置部位に進めることが可能な大きさであり、該遠位ポートと連通している、少なくとも1つの血液取り込みポート
を備え、処置血管において該血液取り込みポートへと向かうベンチュリ補助された逆行性流が、該遠位ポートを介して該管腔へ流入し該近位ポートから流出する血液の下流方向への流れによって引き起こされる、装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置であって、さらに以下:
前記カテーテル内で長手方向に作動するように配置されたピストン;および
該カテーテル内での該ピストンの近位への引き込みによって、可撓性シースがバルーン形状の閉塞部材の形成を引き起こすように、該ピストンに遠位側が固定され、かつ該カテーテルに近位側が固定された、可撓性シース、
を備える、装置。 - 前記カテーテルがさらに、前記遠位閉塞部材を備える遠位カテーテル区域および前記少なくとも1つの血液取り込みポートを備える近位区域を分離する可撓性部材を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 請求項3に記載の装置であって、さらに、前記近位区域と前記遠位カテーテル区域との間で、実質的に鋭角を形成するように前記可撓性部材を湾曲させるのに適した、拡張した状態を有する形状記憶部材を備える、装置。
