Description
Claims (7)
- 観察者に画像を投影する画像表示装置であって、
観察者に向けて光を投影する光源と、
画像を生成する画像生成部と、
前記光源からの光を前記画像生成部に入射させる光学手段と、
前記観察者の左目に向かう光を前記観察者の前記左目よりも左側に拡散し、かつ、右目に向かう光を前記右目よりも右側に拡散する視野角制御板と
を備える画像表示装置。 - 前記光源は、観察者の左目に向けて光を投影する左目用光源、及び、前記観察者の右目に向けて光を投影する右目用光源を有し、
前記画像生成部は、左目用の視差画像を表示する左目画像生成領域及び右目用の視差画像を表示する右目画像生成領域を有し、
前記光学手段は、前記左目用光源からの光を前記画像生成部の前記左目画像生成領域に入射させ、かつ、前記右目用光源からの光を前記画像生成部の前記右目用画像生成領域に入射させる請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記視野角制御板は、角度θ1よりも大きい入射角で入射した光を、入射角よりも大きい角度方向へ拡散する請求項1または2に記載の画像表示装置、但し、
θ1=tan−1((y1−y2)/x)、
y1は、前記画像表示装置の左右方向の有効長さの半分を示し、
y2は、前記観察者の前記右目と前記左目との距離の半分を示し、かつ、
xは、前記画像表示装置から前記観察者までの距離を示す。 - 前記画像生成部から出射した光を鉛直方向に拡散する鉛直方向拡散板を更に備える請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記視野角制御板は、前記鉛直方向拡散板よりも前記観察者側に配される請求項4に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記視野角制御板は、前記画像生成部と前記鉛直方向拡散板との間に配される請求項4に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記光学手段は、
前記左目用光源からの光と前記右目用光源からの光とを互いに直交する方向に偏光させる光源偏光板と、
前記光源偏光板により偏光された前記左目用光源からの光を前記観察者の前記左目に集光し、かつ、前記光源偏光板により偏光された前記右目用光源からの光を前記観察者の前記右目に集光する集光レンズと、
集光レンズから出射した光を、前記画像生成部の前記左目画像生成領域に入射する光と前記右目画像生成領域に入射する光とで、互いに直交する方向に偏光する偏光制御板と
を有し、
前記視野角制御板は、前記集光レンズと前記偏光制御板との間に配される請求項2から4のいずれかに記載の画像表示装置。
