Description
本発明に従い、上記ポリグリコール酸樹脂層と積層して、他の熱可塑性樹脂層を設けることにより樹脂積層体が形成される。
多層延伸成形物、従って通常は、延伸に付される樹脂積層体中のポリグリコール酸樹脂層の構成割合は重量基準(厚さ基準とほぼ等しい)で1〜10%の割合が好ましい。10重量%を超えると、樹脂積層体を延伸のために加熱するに際して結晶化が進み過ぎ、延伸のために多大な応力を必要とするとともに厚いポリグリコール酸樹脂層は結晶延伸によっても透明化が起りにくい傾向にあるからである。1重量%未満では、得られる多層延伸成形物のガスバリアー性が乏しくなり、透明性とともにガスバリアー性の良好な多層延伸成形物を得るという本発明の目的が達成し難くなる。
それぞれの形態の樹脂積層体において、冷却後のヘイズが上記の値を超えることは、冷却結晶化により大きな球晶等を形成している場合が多く、殆どの場合、延伸できない。その後に加熱して延伸できたとしても均一な延伸が困難である。
上記のようにして加熱結晶化によりヘイズが40%以上、特にPGA単独重合体を用いる場合には50%以上、に増加した不透明な樹脂積層体は次いで、製品多層延伸成形物の形態に応じた各種の延伸を伴う成形法に付される。前述したように本発明のPGA樹脂および他の熱可塑性樹脂層を含む多層延伸成形物は、フィルム、シート、その他の押出成形物、射出成形物、中空成形物などの各種形態を採り得る。フィルムとしては、延伸フィルムや熱収縮性フィルムが好ましい。シートは、真空成形や圧空成形などのシート成形法により、トレーやカップなどの容器に二次成形加工することができる。中空成形物としては、ブロー容器や延伸ブロー容器などがある。その他、インフレーション成形も用いられる。これら成形の過程で成形物は延伸される。延伸は、一軸、二軸(同時又は逐次)であることを問わず、好ましい延伸の程度は、成形物の用途によって異なるが、面積倍率として2倍以上、特に4〜25倍程度であることが、強度の増大、ガスバリアー性の向上、耐水性の向上等の観点で好ましい。
上記の延伸成形後必要に応じて熱固定などの後処理あるいは追加の樹脂層を設けるためのラミネート加工、コーティングなどの後工程を行うこともできる。熱固定のための処理温度は、40℃〜210℃程度が好ましく、PGA樹脂の融点以下、より好ましくはPGA樹脂の融点マイナス10〜70℃の範囲である。
本発明により得られたガスバリアー性で透明な多層延伸成形物は、例えばPETを代表とするボトル用途、ラップや食肉包装などの包装フィルムなどに好適に用いられる。さらに、多層延伸成形物の主たる樹脂層をPGA樹脂と同様の生分解性樹脂とすることで生分解性かつガスバリアー性の多層伸成形物を提供できる。
2つのシリンダを有する射出成形機を用いてPET(イーストマンコダック社製「グレード9921」)とPGAホモポリマー(Tcl:90℃、Tm:221℃)のそれぞれを射出(溶融加工)し、冷却してPET/PGA/PET構成のU字パリソン(縦割り断面が「U」字形のボトルへの延伸ブロー成形用前駆体;総重量28g、胴部肉厚3.7mm)を成形した。前記構成の全体においてPGAホモポリマーの占める割合は8重量%であった。
実施例1と同様にして、射出し冷却後のU字パリソン(へイズは38%)を、50℃で24時間加熱し、結晶化させた。ヘイズは57%であった。このU字パリソンを室温から実施例1と同様に97℃まで再加熱後(昇温時間:20秒、保持時間:20秒)、ブロー成形してボトルを得た。その結果を表2に示す。
PGAホモポリマー(Tcl=90℃、Tm=221℃)の代りにPGA/PLA(重量比:95/5)コポリマー(Tcl=100℃、Tm=209℃)を用い、再加熱温度への昇温時間を35秒、保持時間を20秒とする以外は実施例1と同様にしてU字パリソンを成形し、再加熱後ブロー成形してボトルを得た。結果を表3に示す。
Claims (7)
- 少なくとも一層のポリグリコール酸樹脂層を含む樹脂積層体を加熱成形ならびに冷却後、ポリグリコール酸樹脂の昇温過程結晶化温度Tc1+1℃以上の温度に再加熱して、ヘイズ値を10%以上増加させ、40%以上に上昇させて不透明化するまでポリグリコール酸樹脂層を結晶化させ、その後再加熱した樹脂積層体を延伸することを特徴とする透明な多層延伸成形物の製造方法。
- 冷却後の樹脂積層体が透明である請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 樹脂積層体に占めるポリグリコール酸樹脂層の割合が10重量%以下である請求項1または2記載の製造方法。
- ポリグリコール酸樹脂層がガスバリアー性を有する程度に高いグリコール酸重合割合を有するポリグリコール酸樹脂からなる請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の製造方法。
- ポリグリコール酸樹脂層がグリコール酸単独重合体からなる請求項4に記載の製造方法。
- 樹脂積層体がポリグリコール酸樹脂層に加えて芳香族ポリエステル樹脂層を有する請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の製造方法。
- 樹脂積層体がポリグリコール酸樹脂層に加えて他の生分解性樹脂層を有する請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の製造方法。
