Description
a)水酸化アルミニウムの水スラリーを作るために、pHが10より大きい水に、水酸化アルミニウムを分散する工程であって、前記スラリーは水1リットル当たり、約50〜1000グラムの固体を含み、前記スラリーの温度は約5〜95℃である工程;
b)攪拌によってスラリー中の固体の分散状態を維持する工程;
c)前記スラリーを酸素にオゾンが混合された混合物と接触させる工程であって、前記酸素中のオゾン濃度が約1〜20質量%であり、酸素中にオゾンが混合された混合物の温度が約0〜30℃である工程;
d)スラリーから水酸化アルミニウムを集める工程。

e)水酸化ナトリウム水溶液に水酸化アルミニウムを添加し、水酸化ナトリウムに水酸化
アルミニウムを抽出させる工程;
f)水酸化アルミニウムの種結晶による析出化を始めるために、溶液に固体水酸化アルミ
ニウムを添加する工程;
g)水酸化アルミニウム1グラム当たり約0.2mg未満の有機炭素である総有機炭素量の
、析出した水酸化アルミニウムを集める工程。
バイヤー法に従って製造された水酸化アルミニウムが、水1リットル当たり、約442グラムの固体を含むスラリーとなるように水に分散された。pHは、スラリー水1リットル当たり、33%NaOH約1ミリリットルの割合で、33%NaOHを添加することによって、少なくともpH約12となるように調整された。固体はバッチ式槽の中で、機械的攪拌によって分散状態が維持された。
有機炭素のグラム量/水酸化アルミニウムのグラム量 ×100
バイヤー法に従って製造された水酸化アルミニウムが、水1リットル当たり、約332グラムの固体を含むスラリーとなるように水に分散された。pHは、スラリー水1リットル当たり、約1ミリリットルの割合で、33%NaOHを添加することによってpH12となるように調整された。水温は約22℃であった。固体はバッチ式反応槽中で、機械的攪拌によって分散状態が維持された。約13質量%のオゾンを含む、酸素中に室温のオゾンが混合された混合物は、水酸化アルミニウムスラリー中へ入れられた。オゾンは約90分間スラリーと接触状態にされた。表2に結果を示す。
Claims (5)
- 水酸化アルミニウム1グラム当たり、0.5ミリグラム未満の総有機炭素量である総有機炭素量で前記水酸化アルミニウムを製造することを含む、以下の工程を含む、バイヤー法による水酸化アルミニウムの製造方法:
a)水酸化アルミニウムの水スラリーを作るために、pHが10より大きい水に、水酸化アルミニウムを分散する工程であって、前記スラリーは水1リットル当たり、50〜1000グラムの固体を含み、前記スラリーの温度は5〜95℃である工程;
b)攪拌によって前記スラリー中の前記固体の分散状態を維持する工程;
c)前記スラリーを、酸素にオゾンが混合された混合物と接触させる工程であって、前記酸素中のオゾン濃度が1〜20質量%であり、前記酸素にオゾンが混合された混合物の温度が0〜30℃である工程;
d)前記スラリーから前記水酸化アルミニウムを集める工程。 - 前記スラリーのpHが前記スラリーに塩基を添加することによって10より大きい値に維持され、前記塩基は水酸化リチウム、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化セシウム、酸化マグネシウム、酸化カルシウム、酸化ストロンチウム、酸化バリウム、およびこれらの水酸化物からなる群から選択されるものである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塩基が酸化カルシウム、酸化バリウム、これらの水酸化物、および水酸化ナトリウムからなる群から選択されるものである請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記塩基が酸化カルシウムまたは酸化バリウムである請求項2に記載の方法。
- 以下の工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法:
e)水酸化ナトリウム水溶液に前記集めた水酸化アルミニウムを添加し、水酸化ナトリウムに水酸化アルミニウムを抽出させる工程;
f)水酸化アルミニウムの種結晶による析出化を始めるために、前記溶液に固体水酸化アルミニウムを添加する工程;
g)水酸化アルミニウム1グラム当たり0.2mg未満の有機炭素である総有機炭素量の、析出した水酸化アルミニウムを集める工程。
