Description
排気ガスが吸入ガスに流入される流入部に配設されると共に、吸気ガスと排気ガスとの間で熱交換して、吸気ガスによって前記排気ガスを冷却する排気熱交換器(100)が設けられ、
排気熱交換器(100)に流入する排気ガスを予め冷却するために、排気熱交換器(100)の上流に排気ガス冷却用熱交換器(50)が設けられたことを特徴としている。
また、排気ガス冷却用熱交換器(50)により、排気ガスが予め冷却され、吸気ガスの温度上昇を抑えることができるので、加圧手段(20)における加圧効率を高めることができる。
請求項2に記載の発明では、排気ガス冷却用熱交換器(50)は、排気ガスを予め冷却することで排気ガスが吸気ガスと混合された時に吸気ガスの温度上昇を抑制することを特徴としている。これにより、排気ガスが吸気ガスと混合された時にも、吸気ガスの温度上昇を抑えることができるので、混合されたガスの密度低下を防止して、加圧手段(20)における加圧効率を高めることができる。
以下、本発明の排気熱交換器100を排気ガス再循環装置1に適用した場合の実施形態について、図1、図2を用いて説明する。尚、図1は排気ガス再循環装置1全体を示す模式図、図2は排気熱交換器100を示す外観図である。
本発明の第2実施形態を図3に示す。第2実施形態は、上記第1実施形態のバルブ160に代えて、排気熱交換器100の排出パイプ150の下端側に、所定容量を有する容器体としての溜め部170を設けたものである。尚、排出パイプ150は下端側に拡管部を有さないストレートの管としている。
本発明の第3実施形態を図4に示す。第3実施形態は、上記第1実施形態に対して、排気熱交換器100の排気ガス流入側となる合流用排気管12bに、排気ガスを予め冷却するEGRガスクーラ(本発明における排気ガス冷却用熱交換器に対応)50を設けたものである。
本発明の第4実施形態を図5に示す。第4実施形態は、上記第1実施形態に対して、排気熱交換器100Aの本体部の構成を変更したものである。即ち、排気熱交換器100Aの本体部としては、二重管構造のものに代えて、単管から成り螺旋状に形成された排気ガス流路111として形成しても良い。ここでは排気ガス流路111の一端側が排気ガスの流入パイプ(130)に対応し、また、排気ガス流路111の他端側が排気ガスの流出パイプ(140)に対応する。これにより、安価な排気熱交換器100Aとすることができる。
上記各実施形態においては、排気熱交換器100(100A〜100C)を吸気管11の内部に配設するものとして説明したが、これに限らず、吸気管11の外表面に当接するように、あるいは近接するように配設しても良い。

Claims (6)
- 加圧手段(20)によって加圧された吸気ガスを冷却用熱交換器(30)で冷却した後に内燃機関(10)に吸入させて、前記内燃機関(10)から排出される排気ガスの一部を前記加圧手段(20)の低圧側から前記吸気ガスに流入させる排気ガス再循環装置において、
前記排気ガスが前記吸入ガスに流入される流入部に配設されると共に、前記吸気ガスと前記排気ガスとの間で熱交換して、前記吸気ガスによって前記排気ガスを冷却する排気熱交換器(100)が設けられ、
前記排気熱交換器(100)に流入する前記排気ガスを予め冷却するために、前記排気熱交換器(100)の上流に排気ガス冷却用熱交換器(50)が設けられたことを特徴とする排気ガス再循環装置。 - 前記排気ガス冷却用熱交換器(50)は、前記排気ガスを予め冷却することで前記排気ガスが前記吸気ガスと混合された時に前記吸気ガスの温度上昇を抑制することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排気ガス再循環装置。
- 前記排気熱交換器(100)は、前記吸気ガスが流通する吸気管(11)内に配設されたことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の排気ガス再循環装置。
- 前記排気熱交換器(100)の前記排気ガスが流通する流路(100a)の下端から下方に向けて外部に繋がる排出流路(150)を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載の排気ガス再循環装置。
- 前記排出流路(150)の下端には、前記排気ガスの冷却に伴って凝縮される凝縮液の自重に応じて開閉される開閉弁(160)が設けられたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の排気ガス再循環装置。
- 前記排出流路(150)の下端には、前記排気ガスの冷却に伴って凝縮される凝縮液を溜める溜め部(170)が設けられたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の排気ガス再循環装置。
