等式(1)〜(3)によって表されるフィルタ・オペレーションのそれぞれが、デジタル補間である。等式(1)〜(3)の分母にある項「16」は、補間されたサンプル値を、A/D変換器からの6ビット・サンプル値と互換性のあるように調整するために用いられるゲイン項である。互換性のあるサンプルは、A/D変換器に伝えられる、オーバーサンプリングされた信号のサンプルに類似していなければならない。他の実施形態では、元の読み取られたサンプルを基準化し得る(たとえば、等式(1)、(2)、(3)の分母が「4」になり、サンプル、Y0、Y1、Y2、Y3が、補間の前に、4倍に基準化される)。デジタル補間回路ブロック702は、補間すべきサンプリング・ポイントのそれぞれについて、1つのデジタル補間フィルタを有することができる(すなわち、等式毎に1つの補間回路)が、別個の逐次処理も用い得る(たとえば、1つの補間回路がすべての等式を実施する)。本発明は、等式(1)、(2)、(3)に記載されている、これらの形式のフィルタリング・オペレーションに限定されるものではないが、当業者なら、他のタイプの補間を用いて、補間されたサンプルを生成することができよう。
シンボル期間と同じ期間Tを有する非同期サンプリングについては、時間kの非同期サンプルの位相の点においてm番目の位相の1つのピークのための平方ユークリッド距離が、等式(5)に示されている。

Claims (7)
- 記録チャネルから読み取られたサンプル・シーケンス内のデータを検出する方法であって、
(a)前記読み取られたサンプル・シーケンスから1つまたは複数の補間されたサンプル・シーケンスを生成する工程を含み、それぞれの補間されたサンプル・シーケンスが、前記読み取られたサンプル・シーケンスとは異なる対応する位相を有し、
(b)最尤(ML)検出アルゴリズムにより、それぞれのサンプル・シーケンスの一部分と理想的なサンプル・シーケンスの間の距離測定値を生成する工程を含み、前記理想的なサンプル・シーケンスが、前記データ内のピークに対応し、
(c)前記データを検出する際に使用する前記最小距離測定値に基づいて、前記読み取られたサンプル・シーケンスまたは前記補間されたサンプル・シーケンスの1つのいずれかを選択する工程を含み、
工程(c)について、前記データが、アドレス・マークと符号化されたデータ・フィールドとを有するサーボ・データであり、工程(c)が、前記選択されたサンプル・シーケンスから前記アドレス・マークを検出する工程を含み、前記方法が、前記選択されたサンプル・シーケンスから前記符号化されたデータを復号化する工程をさらに含み、
工程(c)について、前記アドレス・マークが繰り返し振れ(RRO)アドレス・マークであり、前記符号化されたデータが符号化されたRROデータであり、
工程(a)について、前記読み取られたサンプルが非同期サンプルであることを特徴とする方法。
- 工程(c)が、前記データを検出する際に使用する前記読み取られたサンプル・シーケンスまたは前記補間されたサンプル・シーケンスの1つのいずれかを選択するために前記距離測定値の最小値を決定する工程を含む請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記復号化する工程が、2/8符号器または1/4符号器のいずれかの制約を用いて、前記符号化されたデータを生成する請求項1に記載の発明。
- 工程(c)について、前記距離測定値が、それぞれのサンプル・シーケンスの一部分と理想的なサンプル・シーケンスの間のユークリッド距離であり、工程(c)が、それぞれのサンプル・シーケンスの一部分と理想的なサンプル・シーケンスの間の前記平方ユークリッド距離の前記最小値を決定する工程を含む請求項1に記載の発明。
- 工程(c)が、それぞれのサンプル・シーケンスの一部分と理想的なサンプル・シーケンスの間の時間kの前記絶対ユークリッド距離dam(k)の前記最小値を、
上式で、y(・)は観察されたサンプルまたは補間されたサンプルのいずれかであり、
- 工程(c)が、前記最小値が検出誤差の確率に基づく閾値未満であった場合には、現在の時間kのためのまたは以前の時間k−1のための、前記ユークリッド距離の前記最小値のいずれかを選択する工程を含む請求項4に記載の発明。
