Description
Claims (37)
- 無線通信システムであって、
ネットワークと、
前記ネットワークに接続された第一の基地局と、
無線通信リンクを経由して前記基地局に接続された移動局とを備え、
前記ネットワークは、前記移動局に対して、ソフトハンドオフ状態に入るか、又はソフトハンドオフ状態を出るかを命令するように構成され、
前記ネットワークが前記移動局に対してソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを命令したことに応答して、前記移動局が、送信パラメータのセットを修正するように構成されており、前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含んでおり、前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るように命令されたのであれば、前記フレームサイズが第一のサイズに設定され、前記移動局がソフトハンドオフを出るように命令されたのであれば、前記フレームサイズが第二のサイズに設定され、前記第一のサイズは、前記第二のサイズよりも大きい無線通信システム。 - 前記第一のサイズは10ミリ秒であり、前記第二のサイズは2ミリ秒である請求項1に記載の無線通信システム。
- 前記移動局は、前記第一の基地局を含む一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてパイロット信号強度を測定し、一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを前記ネットワークに定期的に送信するように構成されている請求項1に記載の無線通信システム。
- 前記ネットワークは、前記パイロット強度測定メッセージに基づいて、前記移動局についてのアクティブセット内の基地局の数の変化を識別し、前記アクティブセット内の基地局の数の変化に基づいて、前記移動局に対して、ソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを命令するように構成されている請求項3に記載の無線通信システム。
- 前記ネットワークは、ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を前記移動局に送ることによって、前記移動局に対して、ソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを命令するように構成されている請求項4に記載の無線通信システム。
- 前記移動局は、前記ネットワークから前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を受信することに応答して、前記送信パラメータを修正するように構成されている請求項5に記載の無線通信システム。
- 前記移動局は、前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)の受信後、ハンドオフ完了メッセージを前記ネットワークに送信するように構成されている請求項6に記載の無線通信システム。
- 無線通信システムにおいて動作するように構成された移動局であって、
処理サブシステムと、
トランシーバサブシステムとを備え、
前記処理サブシステムは、前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出することに応答して、前記トランシーバサブシステムのための送信パラメータを設定するように構成され、前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含んでおり、前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るように命令されたのであれば、前記フレームサイズが第一のサイズに設定され、前記移動局がソフトハンドオフを出るように命令されたのであれば、前記フレームサイズが第二のサイズに設定され、前記第一のサイズは、前記第二のサイズよりも大きい移動局。 - 前記処理サブシステムは、受信したハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)に基づいて、移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出するように構成されている請求項8に記載の移動局。
- 前記処理サブシステムは、前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)が前記移動局に対してソフトハンドオフに入るように命令すると、前記送信パラメータを第一の値に設定し、前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)が前記移動局に対してソフトハンドオフを出るように命令すると、前記送信パラメータを第二の値に設定するように構成されている請求項9に記載の移動局。
- 前記第一のサイズは10ミリ秒であり、前記第二のサイズは2ミリ秒である請求項8に記載の移動局。
- 一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてのパイロット信号強度を測定することと、一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを、前記基地局に接続されたネットワークに定期的に送信することとを更に備える請求項9に記載の移動局。
- 前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)の受信後、ハンドオフ完了メッセージを前記ネットワークに送信することを更に備える請求項12に記載の移動局。
- 無線通信システムで実施される方法であって、
移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出することと、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出することに応答して、前記移動局のための送信パラメータを修正することとを備え、
前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含んでおり、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフに入ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第一のサイズに設定され、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第二のサイズに設定され、前記第一のサイズは、前記第二のサイズよりも大きい方法。 - 前記第一のサイズは10ミリ秒であり、前記第二のサイズは2ミリ秒である請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記移動局が、一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてのパイロット信号強度を測定することと、一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを定期的にネットワークに送信することとを更に備える請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出することは、前記パイロット強度測定メッセージに基づいて前記移動局のためのアクティブセット内の基地局の数の変化を識別することを備える請求項16に記載の方法。
- アクティブセット内の基地局の数の変化を検出することに応答して、ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を前記ネットワークから前記移動局へ送信することを更に備える請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記移動局のための前記送信パラメータを修正することは、前記ネットワークから前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を受信することに応答して実行される請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)の受信後、前記移動局から前記ネットワークへとハンドオフ完了メッセージを送信することを更に備える請求項19に記載の方法。
- 移動局内で実施される方法であって、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入ることか、又はソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出することと、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入る場合には、送信パラメータを第一の値に設定することと、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフを出る場合には、送信パラメータを第二の値に設定することとを備え、
前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含み、前記第一の値は、前記第二の値よりも大きい方法。 - 前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入ることか、又はソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出することは、前記ネットワークからハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を受信することを備える請求項21に記載の方法。
- 一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてのパイロット信号強度を測定することと、一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを定期的に前記基地局のうちの第一の一つに送信することとを更に備える請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記ハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)の受信後、前記基地局のうちの前記第一の一つにハンドオフ完了メッセージを送信することを更に備える請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含む請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記第一の値は10ミリ秒であり、前記第二の値は2ミリ秒である請求項21に記載の方法。
- 無線通信のための装置であって、
移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出する手段と、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入る場合には、送信パラメータを第一の値に設定する手段と、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフを出る場合には、送信パラメータを第二の値に設定する手段とを備え、
前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含んでおり、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフに入ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第一のサイズに設定され、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第二のサイズに設定され、前記第一のサイズは、前記第二のサイズよりも大きい装置。 - 前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出する手段は、ネットワークからハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を受信する手段を備える請求項27に記載の装置。
- 前記HDMの受信後、前記ネットワークへハンドオフ完了メッセージを送信する手段を更に備える請求項28に記載の装置。
- 一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてのパイロット信号強度を測定する手段と、
一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを定期的に前記基地局のうちの第一の一つに送信する手段と
を更に備える請求項27に記載の装置。 - 前記第一の値は10ミリ秒であり、前記第二の値は2ミリ秒である請求項27に記載の装置。
- 前記フレームサイズに従って、逆方向リンクでデータを送信する手段を更に備える請求項27に記載の装置。
- 格納された命令群を含むプロセッサ読取可能媒体であって、
移動局がソフトハンドオフに入るか、又はソフトハンドオフを出るかを検出するための命令群と、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフに入る場合には、送信パラメータを第一の値に設定するための命令群と、
前記移動局がソフトハンドオフを出る場合には、前記送信パラメータを第二の値に設定するための命令群とを備え、
前記送信パラメータはフレームサイズを含んでおり、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフに入ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第一のサイズに設定され、前記移動局が、ソフトハンドオフを出ることを検出された場合には、前記フレームサイズが第二のサイズに設定され、前記第一のサイズは、前記第二のサイズよりも大きいプロセッサ読取可能媒体。 - ネットワークからハンドオフ命令メッセージ(HDM)を受信するための命令群を更に備える請求項33に記載のプロセッサ読取可能媒体。
- 前記HDMの受信後、前記ネットワークへハンドオフ完了メッセージを送信するための命令群を更に備える請求項34に記載のプロセッサ読取可能媒体。
- 一つ又は複数の基地局の各々についてのパイロット信号強度を取得するための命令群と、
一つ又は複数のパイロット強度測定メッセージを定期的に前記基地局のうちの第一の一つに送信するための命令群と
を更に備える請求項33に記載のプロセッサ読取可能媒体。 - 前記フレームサイズに従って、逆方向リンクでのデータの送信を命令するための命令群を更に備える請求項33に記載のプロセッサ読取可能媒体。
