Description
凝集度=凝集粉の粒径(レーザー光散乱法で求めた粒子の径)/当該凝集粉を構成する1次粒子の粒径(比表面積から求めた擬似的球の直径)
と定義するが、この凝集度が35よりも大きい場合、凝集粒子内の1次粒子が非常に小さく焼結活性が高いために、凝集粒子間の焼結よりも早く、1次粒子間の焼結が進行する。これにより、凝集粒子の収縮が進行し、全体の収縮が遅れた形となり、凝集粒子間に隙間が生じたような亀の甲羅状(石垣状)のようなクラックが生じる。一方、固体電解質原料粉末は平均粒径が0.3〜2μm程度であるために、中間層成形体と接触している固体電解質成形体は中間層成形体の焼成収縮に引っ張られて石垣のようなクラックや剥離が生じてしまう。凝集度が35以下である場合、1次粒子の焼結と凝集粒子間の焼結、ならびに固体電解質の焼結がほぼ同時に始まるために均一な焼結体となる。

Claims (6)
- 固体電解質の片側に酸素側電極、他側に燃料側電極を設けてなり、前記固体電解質と、前記酸素側電極及び/又は前記燃料側電極との間に中間層を有する燃料電池セルの製法において、平均粒径が0.3〜2μmの固体電解質原料粉末を用いて作製された固体電解質成形体の表面に、セラミック粒子の凝集粉の粒径を当該凝集粉を構成する1次粒子の粒径で除して表される凝集度が5〜35に調整された中間層原料粉末を用いて中間層用成形体を形成して積層成形体を作製し、該積層成形体を焼成する工程を具備することを特徴とする燃料電池セルの製法。
- 前記中間層原料粉末として、セラミック原料粉末を仮焼処理し、その後湿式解砕を行ってセラミック粒子の凝集粉の粒径を当該凝集粉を構成する1次粒子の粒径で除して表される凝集度が5〜35となるように調整して作製したものを用いることを特徴とする請求項1記載の燃料電池セルの製法。
- 支持基板成形体の表面に、燃料側電極成形体、前記固体電解質成形体、前記中間層用成形体を順次積層して、前記積層成形体を作製することを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池セルの製法。
- 前記中間層用成形体を、1〜20μmの厚みに作製することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のうちいずれかに記載の燃料電池セルの製法。
- 前記セラミック原料粉末として、次の一般式で表わされるCeO2とSm2O3 とを用いることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の燃料電池セルの製法。
(CeO2)1−x(SmO1.5)x(0<x≦0.3) - 前記固体電解質成形体を、希土類元素が固溶したZrO2を用いて作製することを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のうちいずれかに記載の燃料電池セルの製法。
