JIS K0070に従って測定する。
(1)軟化点
フローテスター(島津製作所、CFT-500D)を用い、1gの試料を昇温速度6℃/分で加熱しながら、プランジャーにより1.96MPaの荷重を与え、直径1mm、長さ1mmのノズルから押出する。温度に対し、フローテスターのプランジャー降下量をプロットし、試料の半量が流出した温度を軟化点とする。
示差走査熱量計(セイコー電子工業社製、DSC210)を用いて200℃まで昇温し、その温度から降温速度10℃/分で0℃まで冷却した試料を昇温速度10℃/分で測定する。観測される吸熱ピークのうち、最も高温側にあるピークの温度を吸熱の最高ピーク温度とする。最高ピーク温度と軟化点との差が20℃以内のとき、そのピーク温度を融点とする。
示差走査熱量計(セイコー電子工業社製、DSC210)を用いて200℃まで昇温し、その温度から降温速度10℃/分で0℃まで冷却したサンプルを昇温速度10℃/分で測定する。吸熱の最高ピーク温度と軟化点との差が20℃を超えるとき、そのピーク温度をガラス転移温度とする。吸熱の最高ピーク温度と軟化点との差が20℃以内のときは、吸熱の最高ピーク温度以下のベースラインの延長線と、該ピークの立ち上がり部分からピークの頂点までの最大傾斜を示す接線との交点の温度をガラス転移温度として読み取る。
上記に従って測定した軟化点及び吸熱の最高ピーク温度から以下の式を用いて結晶性指数を算出する。
結晶性指数=軟化点/吸熱の最高ピーク温度
温度40℃、相対湿度90%の環境下で樹脂を24時間放置し、赤外線水分計(ケット科学研究所製、FD-230により測定した放置後の樹脂の水分量を飽和水分量とする。
粘弾性測定装置(レオメーター)RDA-III型(レオメトリックス社製)により、下記測定治具の中に試料を入れ、下記条件で弾性率の温度依存性を測定する。

表1に示す原料モノマー(アルコール成分及びカルボン酸成分)及び酸化ブチル錫10gを窒素導入管、脱水管、攪拌機及び熱電対を装備した5L容の四つ口フラスコに入れ、200℃でテレフタル酸の粒が観測されなくなるまで反応させた後、さらに、8.3kPaにて1時間反応させて樹脂A又は樹脂Bを得た。
表1に示す原料モノマー(アルコール成分及びカルボン酸成分)及び酸化ブチル錫10gを窒素導入管、脱水管、攪拌機及び熱電対を装備した5L容の四つ口フラスコに入れ、200℃でテレフタル酸の粒が観測されなくなるまで反応させた後、さらに、8.3kPaにて4時間反応させて樹脂Cを得た。
表2に示す結着樹脂100重量部、着色剤としてカーボンブラック「モーガルL」(キャボット社製)6重量部、負帯電性荷電制御剤として「ボントロンS-34」(オリエント化学工業社製)1重量部、及び離型剤として「HNP-9」(日本精蝋社製)2重量部をヘンシェルミキサーで十分混合した後、二軸混練機PCM-30(池貝社製)を用いてフィード量10kg/min、回転数200r/min、混練温度は結着樹脂の融点-10℃で溶融混練した。得られた混練物100重量部に対して疎水性シリカ「アエロジルR-972」(日本アエロジル社製)0.5重量部をヘンシェルミキサーを用いて混合付着させた後、ジェットミルで微粉砕し、気流分級機で分級して、体積中位粒径(D50)8.5μmの粉体を得た。
トナー52gに体積中位粒径(D50)60μmのシリコーンコートフェライトキャリア(関東電化社製)760gを加えて混合し、市販の複写機(Sharp製、DIGITAL IMAGER AR-505)で未定着ベタ画像を現像し、未定着画像を得た。シリコーンオイル塗布型の定着機(定着速度:160mm/sec)を用いて100℃から200℃へと10℃刻みで順次上昇させながら未定着画像を定着させて、定着試験を行った。

トナー52gに体積中位粒径(D50)60μmのシリコーンコートフェライトキャリア(関東電化社製)760gを加えて混合し、この現像剤を市販の複写機(Sharp製、DIGITAL IMAGER AR-505)で未定着ベタ画像を現像し、未定着画像を得た。シリコーンオイルを塗布しない定着機(定着速度:160mm/sec)を用いて100℃から200℃へと10℃刻みで順次上昇させながら定着試験を行い、ホットオフセットの発生温度を確認した。ホットオフセットが発生する直前の温度を最高定着温度とした。結果を表2に示す。
Claims (3)
- 結着樹脂及び着色剤を含有してなる電子写真用トナーであって、前記結着樹脂が炭素数3〜10の脂肪族ジオールを80モル%以上含むアルコール成分と芳香族ジカルボン酸化合物を80モル%以上含むカルボン酸成分とを縮重合させて得られ、炭素数4〜10の直鎖型脂肪族ジオールに由来する構成単位と炭素数3〜10の分岐鎖型脂肪族ジオールに由来する構成単位と芳香族ジカルボン酸化合物に由来する構成単位を有する、ガラス転移点が0〜17.7℃の、結晶性指数が0.6〜1.5の結晶性ポリエステルであり、トナーが80℃における周波数19.2rad/secでの貯蔵弾性率G'(80)、示差走査熱量計による吸熱の最高ピーク温度Tp、及びTpより20℃高い温度における周波数19.2rad/secでの貯蔵弾性率G'(Tp+20)が、式(1)〜(3):
(1) G'(80)≧1×105Pa、
(2) 80℃<Tp≦130℃、及び
(3) G'(Tp+20)≧1×102Pa
を満たす電子写真用トナー。 - さらに、Tpにおける周波数19.2rad/secでの貯蔵弾性率G'(Tp)とTpより10℃高い温度における周波数19.2rad/secでの貯蔵弾性率G'(Tp+10)が、式(4):
(4) G'(Tp)≧100×G'(Tp+10)
を満たす請求項1記載の電子写真用トナー。 - 結晶性ポリエステルのアルコール成分中、炭素数4〜10の直鎖型脂肪族ジオールの含有量が50〜90モル%であり、炭素数3〜10の分岐鎖型脂肪族ジオールが10〜50モル%である請求項1又は2記載の電子写真用トナー。
