Description
(a)少なくとも1つの毛細管流路であって、入口端と少なくとも1つの出口端とを有する毛細管流路と、
(b)前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置される熱源であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路における液体燃料を、少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変化させ、実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から供給するのに十分なレベルに加熱するように、作動可能である熱源と、
(c)燃料を内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための弁であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置され、かつ内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための低質量部材を備える弁と、
を備え、
内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための前記低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する材料から形成されている、
ことを特徴とする燃料噴射器に向けられている。
(a)複数の燃料噴射器であって、各燃料噴射器が、(i)少なくとも1つの毛細管流路であって、入口端と出口端とを有する毛細管流路と、(ii)少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置される熱源であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路における液体燃料を、少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変化させ、実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から供給するのに十分なレベルに加熱するように、作動可能である熱源と、(iii)燃料を内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための弁であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置され、かつ内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための低質量部材を備える弁とを備え、内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための前記低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する材料から形成されるような複数の燃料噴射器と、
(b)複数の燃料噴射器と流体連通する液体燃料供給システムと、
(c)複数の燃料噴射器への燃料の供給を制御する制御装置と、
を備えていることを特徴とする燃料システムに向けられている。
(a)液体燃料を燃料噴射器の少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に供給するステップと、
(b)少なくとも1つの毛細管流路内の液体燃料を加熱することによって、実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の出口を通過させるステップと、
(c)蒸発された燃料を、少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の出口端に近接して配置された弁を介して、内燃機関の燃焼室へ流量調整して供給するステップであって、弁は内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための低質量部材を備えるようなステップと、
を含み、
内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する材料から形成されている、
ことを特徴とする方法を提供するものである。

Claims (14)
- 液体燃料を蒸発させ、内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための燃料噴射器において、
(a)金属毛細管チューブによって画成される少なくとも1つの毛細管流路であって、入口端と少なくとも1つの出口端とを有する毛細管流路と、
(b) 前記金属毛細管チューブを備え、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置される熱源であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路における液体燃料を、少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変化させ、実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から供給するのに十分なレベルに加熱するように、作動可能である熱源と、
(c)燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための弁であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置され、かつ前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための金属製の低質量部材を備える弁と、
(d) 前記内燃機関の運転中に形成される堆積物を清浄にするための手段であって、前記堆積物を清浄にするための前記手段は、前記液体燃料源からの液体燃料を含む溶媒を用い、前記熱源は、前記毛細管流路の清浄化中は停止されている手段と、
を備え、
前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための前記金属製の低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する金属材料から形成されていることを特徴とする燃料噴射器。 - 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁の前記金属製の低質量部材は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するためのプラグ部材であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁の前記金属製の低質量プラグ部材は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端と接線方向において一直線上に並んでいることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の燃料噴射器。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁を作動させるソレノイドをさらに備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器。
- 前記熱源は、抵抗ヒータを備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端の下流側に配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の燃料噴射器。
- 内燃機関に用いられる燃料システムにおいて、
(a)複数の燃料噴射器であって、各噴射器が、(i)金属毛細管チューブによって画成される少なくとも1つの毛細管流路であって、入口端と出口端とを有する毛細管流路と、(ii)前記金属毛細管チューブを備え、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置される熱源であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路における液体燃料を、少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変化させ、実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から供給するのに十分なレベルに加熱するように、作動可能である熱源と、(iii)燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための弁であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置され、かつ前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための金属製の低質量部材を有する弁と、(iv)前記内燃機関の運転中に形成される堆積物を清浄にするための手段であって、前記堆積物を清浄にするための前記手段は、前記液体燃料源からの液体燃料を含む溶媒を用い、前記熱源は、前記毛細管流路の清浄化中は停止されている手段とを備え、前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための前記金属製の低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する材料から形成されているような複数の燃料噴射器と、
(b)前記複数の燃料噴射器と流体連通する液体燃料供給システムと、
(c)前記複数の燃料噴射器への燃料の供給を制御する制御装置と、
を備えていることを特徴とする燃料システム。 - 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁の前記金属製の低質量部材は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端から燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するためのプラグ部材であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の燃料システム。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁の前記金属製の低質量プラグ部材は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端と接線方向において一直線上に並んでいることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記熱源は、抵抗ヒータを備えていることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の燃料システム。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端の下流側に配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の燃料システム。
- 燃料を内燃機関に供給する方法において、
(a)液体燃料を燃料噴射器の、金属毛細管チューブによって画成される少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に供給するステップと、
(b)実質的に蒸発された燃料の流れを、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路内の前記液体燃料を加熱することによって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の出口内に通させるステップと、
(c)蒸発された燃料を、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置された弁を介して、前記内燃機関の燃焼室に流量調整して供給するステップであって、前記弁は、前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための金属製の低質量部材を備えるようなステップと、
前記内燃機関の運転中に形成される堆積物を、前記液体燃料源からの液体燃料を含む溶媒を用いることによって定期的に清浄するステップであって、前記熱源は、前記毛細管流路の清浄化中は停止されている、ステップと、
を含み、
前記内燃機関への燃料の流れを実質的に閉塞するための前記金属製の低質量部材は、低質量及び/又は低熱伝導係数を有する材料から形成されている、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記内燃機関の前記燃焼室への蒸発された燃料の前記供給は、前記内燃機関の始動時と暖気時に制限されることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 燃料を前記内燃機関に流量調整して供給するための前記弁は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端の下流側に配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の方法。
