Description
多孔質重合体繊維で、その繊維中に粒状材料が取り込まれた多孔質重合体繊維の製造方法が見出された。繊維が形成される工程で、同時にその繊維中に多孔性が与えられ、従って、付加的気孔形成処理の必要性は、もはや存在しないので有利である。
非中空繊維ポリエチレン・ビニルアルコール/陽イオン交換樹脂構造体
ポリエチレン・ビニルアルコール(44%のエチレン含有量を有するEVAL)非中空繊維を次のようにして製造した。7重量%のEVAL及び12重量%の陽イオン交換樹脂(CER)〔レワティット(Lewatit)CNP80WS(バイエル)、全イオン交換容量:4.3当量/リットル〕及び7重量%のオクタノールをジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)中に溶解した。樹脂粒子は20μmより小さかった。得られた懸濁物をチューブ・イン・オリフィス紡糸口金(OD=2.4及びID=1.65mm)を通して水浴(20℃)中へ押出し、そこで相分離が行われた。非中空繊維の製造のため管状液体は用いなかった。このようにして、60重量%CERの粒子含有量を有し、80%の固定化粒子が蛋白質(BSA)吸着に対し活性である多孔質非中空繊維が得られた。繊維1g当たり80mgのBSA吸着性が得られた。
中空繊維ポリスルホン/陽イオン交換樹脂構造体
ポリスルホン中空繊維を次のようにして製造した。30重量%のポリスルホン(UDEL3500)をN−メチルピロリドン(NMP)中に溶解し、それを30重量%のスチレン・ジビニルベンゼン型陽イオン交換樹脂(CER)〔アンバーライト(Amberlite)IR−120、全イオン交換容量:4.4ミリ当量/乾燥樹脂1g〕と混合した。樹脂粒子は30μmより小さかった。この分散物をチューブ・イン・オリフィス紡糸口金(OD=2.1mm、ID=1.0mm)に通して水浴(16〜18℃)中へ押出し、そこで相分離が行われた。管状液体は、60%のNMP及び40%の水からなっていた。紡糸速度は0.35mm/分であった。このようにして50重量%CERの粒子含有量を有し、88%の固定化粒子が塩イオンのために利用できる多孔質中空繊維が得られた。
非中空繊維ポリエチレン・ビニルアルコール/BSA変性陽イオン交換樹脂構造体

ポリエチレン・ビニルアルコール(44%のエチレン含有量を有するEVAL)非中空繊維を次のようにして製造した。7重量%のEVAL及び12重量%の多孔質ジルコニア微小球及び7重量%のオクタノールをジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)中に溶解した。ジルコニア粒子は20μmより小さく、商業的に得られるか、又は合成し、重合誘導コロイド凝集により希望の性質を持つように調整することができる。得られた分散剤をチューブ・イン・オリフィス紡糸口金(OD=2.4mm及びID=1.65mm)を通して水浴(20℃)中へ押出し、そこで相分離が行われた。非中空繊維の製造のため管状液体は用いなかった。このようにして、63重量%ジルコニアの粒子含有量を有する多孔質非中空繊維が得られた。このようにして得られた繊維を、メタノール中に入れた2重量%のポリエチレンイミン(PEI)溶液でそれを被覆することにより更に処理し、ジルコニア粒子上にPEIを固定した。1,2−ビス(2−ヨードエトキシ)エタン、又は1,10−ジヨードデカンのような薬剤によりPEIを架橋することにより四級化PEIの疎水性に影響を与えることができる。ポリエチレン・ビニルアルコール/ポリエチレンイミン変性ジルコニア粒子のそのような官能性多孔質繊維は、蛋白質よりもエンドトキシンを選択的に吸収する。
非中空繊維ポリエーテルスルホン陽イオン交換樹脂構造体
ポリエーテルスルホン(PES)非中空繊維を次のようにして製造した。13.8重量%のPES及び13.8重量%の陽イオン交換樹脂(CER)〔レワティットCNP80WS(バイエル)、全イオン交換容量:4.3当量/リットル〕、33.6重量%のポリエチレングリコール(PEG400)及び5.2重量%の水をN−メチルピロリドン(NMP)中に溶解した。樹脂粒子は20μmより小さかった。得られた分散物を三層紡糸口金(OD=2.4mm及びID=1.65mm)を通して水浴(20℃)中へ押出し、そこで相分離が行われた。非中空繊維の製造のため管状液体は用いなかった。生成期繊維の外側に、NMPと水(第一凝集剤)との混合物を流した。第一凝集剤との接触時間は1秒より短かった。このようにして、50重量%CERの粒子含有量を有する多孔質非中空繊維が得られた。走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)写真は、90重量%のNMPと10重量%の水との混合物と比較して、70重量%のNMPと30重量%の水との第一凝集剤を用いた場合に、外側表面が遥かに緻密になることを明確に示している。図5及び6参照。
粒子含有量の影響
粒子含有量が重合体マトリックスの気孔率に与える影響を決定するため、例5による繊維を粒子含有量を変化させて製造した。図7は、10重量%の粒子含有量を有する繊維を示し、それは明らかに巨大空洞を見ることができる。図8は、75重量%の粒子含有量を有する繊維を示し、それは巨大空洞を含まない。
Claims (33)
- 重合体マトリックスの中に官能性化粒状材料が取り込まれた重合体マトリックスで、前記重合体マトリックスが多孔質であり、前記官能性化粒子を充分利用することができ、製造後それらの官能性を維持している重合体マトリックスを製造する方法であって、
(1)重合体材料と粒状材料との混合物を前記重合体材料のための溶媒中に与えること、及び
(2)前記混合物を繊維に押出し、前記繊維を
(i)生成期繊維の外側媒体として水、前記重合体のための溶媒と非溶媒との液体混合物、蒸気、又はガスを制御して流すことができる紡糸口金を使用して、外側層の第一相分離を起こさせる第一工程、及び、
(ii)第一工程で得られた繊維を凝集浴に導入して、当該繊維の更なる相分離を起こし、構造を固定する第二工程、
を含む、二工程転相法により固化すること
を含む、上記製造方法。 - 押出される混合物が、0.5重量%〜50重量%の重合体材料、及び1重量%〜95重量%の粒状材料を含み、残余が溶媒である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 用いられる溶媒が、N−メチル−ピロリドン(NMP)、ジメチルアセトアミド(DMAc)、ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)、テトラヒドロフラン(THF)、ε−カプロラクタム、又は4−ブチロラクトンから選択される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 重合体材料と粒状材料との混合物中の溶媒が、0.01〜50重量%の一種類以上の添加剤及び(又は)非溶媒により置き換えられている、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 添加剤が、オクタノール、ポリビニルピロリドン(PVP)、ポリエチレングリコール(PEG)、及びグリセロールから選択される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 繊維が、5〜95重量%の重合体材料及び5〜95重量%の粒状材料を含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 繊維が、約60〜95重量%の粒状材料を含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 外側媒体が、重合体のための溶媒と非溶媒との液体混合物である、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 外側媒体が、重合体のための非溶媒を含むガス流である、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 非溶媒が水又は水蒸気である、請求項8又は9に記載の方法。
- 三層紡糸口金を用いる、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 重合体材料が、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリスルホン、ポリエチレン−co−ビニルアルコール、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、及び酢酸セルロースから選択される、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 多孔質マトリックス中の粒状材料が、後の官能性化によりその機能が変化されている、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、吸着性粒状材料である、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 吸着性粒状材料が、イオン交換樹脂である、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 吸着性粒状材料が、性質が疎水性である、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、粒径による排除のために用いられる、請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、異性体化合物を分離するために用いられる、請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、光学活性化合物を分離するために用いられる、請求項1〜18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、逆相クロマトグラフィーで用いられる、請求項1〜19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が、触媒又は生体触媒で官能性化されているか、又は後で官能性化されている、請求項1〜20のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 粒状材料が活性炭である、請求項1〜21のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 機械的補強のため、どのような材料の糸、ワイヤー、ヤーン等でも繊維と一緒に押出される、請求項1〜22のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 更に、熱処理を含む、請求項1〜23のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 重合体マトリックスで、そのマトリックス中に粒状材料が取り込まれている重合体マトリックスの気孔率を、請求項1に記載の方法で、粒状材料の大きさを変えることにより調節する方法。
- 重合体マトリックスで、そのマトリックス中に粒状材料が取り込まれている重合体マトリックスの気孔率を、請求項1に記載の方法で、粒状材料の含有量を変えることにより調節する方法。
- 重合体マトリックスで、そのマトリックス中に粒状材料が取り込まれている重合体マトリックスの気孔率を、請求項1に記載の方法で、粒状材料の官能性を変えることにより調節する方法。
- 請求項1〜27のいずれか1項に記載の方法により得られる繊維。
- 請求項28に記載の繊維を含むモジュールで、筐体の内部に詰め込まれた渦巻き状に巻いた繊維マット、筐体の内部に長手方向に詰め込まれた繊維束、筐体の中に横切る方向に入れられた繊維形状物、筐体の内部に平行又は交差する仕方でスプールとして巻かれた繊維、又は筐体の内部に他の秩序良く又は無秩序に詰め込まれた繊維形状物を含む、上記モジュール。
- 請求項28に記載の方法により、場合により微粉砕形状になっている、繊維を含む物体。
- 化合物の混合物、反応混合物、特に、発酵ブロス、組織ブロス、植物ブロス、又は一般に細胞ブロスから化合物を吸着及び(又は)精製するための、請求項28に記載の繊維、又は請求項29に記載のモジュール、又は請求項30に記載の物体の使用。
