Description
図2に示すように、ストロー装置100には、ストロー110を生産するためのいくつかの要素又はステーションが含まれる。ストロー装置100の要素又はステーションの動作はコントローラー117により制御され、かつ、監視される。ストロー装置100には押出し機120が含まれる。押出し機120はほぼ従来設計としうる。押出し機120内の要素を以下で詳細に示す。一般に、押出し機120はペレット又は他のタイプの重合体又は同様の材料を用いて、その材料を処理して流体の流れとすることにより、その材料を希望の形状にしうる。押出し機120は1時間当たり約10,000本から100,000本のストローを製造しうる。
図3及び4は押出し機120の内部機構を示している。良く知られているように、押出し機120にはホッパー180が含まれる。ペレット又は他の形状の重合体原料をホッパー180に装填する。ホッパー180はスクリュー190に通じている。スクリュー190は従来設計でよい。スクリュー190は駆動システム200により駆動される。駆動システム200は従来設計でよい。重合体原料をスクリュー190により加熱され、粉砕されて、溶融重合体の流れになる。ホッパー180、スクリュー190、駆動システム200及び押出し機120の他の要素は希望のサイズ又は構成としうる。
図5及び6は本発明の押出し機300を示している。押出し機300は実質的に上記で詳細に述べた押出し機120と同じである。しかしながら、押出し機300には流体送出システム310も含めている。流体送出システム310には流体源320が含まれる。流体源320は従来設計の加圧容器としうる。代わりに、流体源320はポンプ、重力供給又はサイホン作用も使用しうる。1以上の加熱源も使用しうる。
使用に当たって、押出し機300は上記のようにストロー装置100の他の要素と協調して、重合体原料のペレットを連続チューブ125とストロー110に変換する。重合体原料の連続チューブ125が押出し機300の押出し機ヘッド210を出たとき、流体送出システム310が、流体用導管340のオリフィス350を通って流体330の流れを送出する。そして、流体330を、空気源270と空気用導管260からの空気の流れ265と混合しうる。流体330は空気の流れ265の中で好ましく霧化され、スプレー又はミストの中で連続チューブ125を伸ばしている。
図8は本発明の別の実施例を示している。この実施例には静電装置400の使用が含まれている。静電装置400は従来設計でよい。静電装置400は上記のストロー装置100と共に使用しうる。静電装置400には帯電装置410が含まれる。帯電装置410は冷却溝140のどちらかの側又はストロー装置100の通路に沿った他の場所に配置された導電性の導体としうる。帯電装置410は重合体原料の連続チューブ125を囲むようにする。さらに、静電装置400には逆方向の帯電装置420が含まれる。その逆方向の帯電装置420は流体330及び流体源320の付近に配置される。逆方向の帯電装置420は帯電装置410のそれとは逆方向の帯電で流体330を帯電する。それにより、流体330が制限用オリフィス350を通って伸びるとき、その流体330の電荷と重合体原料の連続チューブ125を囲む帯電装置410の電荷がお互いに引き合うので、流体330がストロー110の内壁面115に接着して均一なコーティング360になる。
図9から15までは本発明の別の実施例を示している。これらの実施例で、押出し機ヘッド210にはオリフィス350の代わりに又はそれに追加してノズル500が含まれている。ノズル500は空気用導管260と流体用導管340に通じている。ノズル500は鋼、ステンレス鋼、プラスチック材料又は類似のタイプの材料から作られる。ノズル500には前面があり、それを通るいくつかの開口部520がある。さらに、各ノズル500には長く伸びた胴体部分530とその中のいくつかの導管540が含まれる。ノズル500は押出機ヘッド210のサイズにより約30から約60ミリメートルの長さになる。開口部520の数、サイズ、位置、角度は流体330の性質及び(又は)ここで詳細に述べる他の変数により変化する。

- 原料の連続チューブ(125)と、原料の連続チューブ(125)を形成するための押出しダイ(250)と、原料の連続チューブの内壁面(115)に流体(330)を導入するように押出しダイ内に配置された流体送出システム(310)とを備えたコーティング装置において、
原料の連続チューブが飲料用ストロー材料であり、流体が飲料添加流体であることを特徴とするコーティング装置。 - 前記飲料添加流体の流体送出システム(310)が前記押出しダイ(250)を通って伸びている1つ以上の流体用導管(340)から成っていることを特徴とする請求項1のコーティング装置。
- 前記1つ以上の流体用導管(340)が最初の端部付近のオリフィス(350)を有していることを特徴とする請求項2のコーティング装置。
- 飲料用ストロー材料の原料の連続チューブ(125)の中に空気の流れを導入するように前記押出しダイ(250)に配置された空気送出システム(260)を更に有することを特徴とする請求項2又は3のコーティング装置。

- 前記複数の曲げられた送出用導管(620)が約0.3から約0.6ミリメートルの直径から成ることを特徴とする請求項9又は10のコーティング装置。
- 前記複数の曲げられた送出用導管(620)が約10度から約60度の角度から成ることを特徴とする請求項9、10又は11のいずれかのコーティング装置。
- 前記空気送出システム(260)が前記前面(510)の複数の空気用開口部(590、650)に通じている前記ノズル(500)内の複数の空気用導管(260、500、660)から成ることを特徴とする請求項6〜12のいずれか1のコーティング装置。
- 前記複数の空気用導管(580)が前記1つ以上の流体用導管(340)と平行な第一の部分を有していることを特徴とする請求項13のコーティング装置。
- 前記複数の空気用導管(580)が前記1つ以上の流体用導管(340)に向かって曲げられた第二の部分を有していることを特徴とする請求項14のコーティング装置。
- 前記第二の曲げられた部分が約10度から約60度の角度をなしていることを特徴とする請求項15のコーティング装置。
- ノズル(750)がノズルに取付けられたそらせ板(780)を有することを特徴とする請求項6のコーティング装置。
- 前記押出しダイ(250)に通じるように配置された静電装置(400)を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1のコーティング装置。
- 前記静電装置(400)が、連続チューブ(125)に通じている第一の帯電装置(410)と、前記飲料添加流体の流体送出システム(310)を囲む第二の帯電装置(420)とを有することを特徴とする請求項18のコーティング装置。
- 押出しダイ(250)を通じて原料の連続チューブ(125)を押出す手段と、
前記押出しダイ(250)を通って原料の連続チューブ内に空気の流れを供給する手段と、及び、
流体を用いて連続チューブ(125)を被覆するように前記押出しダイを通じて流体の流れを供給する手段と、から成る、流体を用いて原料の連続チューブの内面をコーティングするための方法において、
原料の連続チューブが飲料用ストロー材料であり、流体が飲料添加流体であることを特徴とする方法。
