Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric vibrator housing package for housing a piezoelectric vibrator such as a crystal vibrator inside.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, a piezoelectric vibrator housing package for housing a piezoelectric vibrator such as a quartz crystal vibrator includes an aluminum oxide sintered body, an aluminum nitride sintered body, a mullite sintered body, and a glass ceramic sintered body. An insulating substrate made of a ceramic material, having a storage portion for storing the piezoelectric vibrator at the center of the upper surface thereof, and having a rectangular frame-shaped sealing metallization layer deposited so as to surround the storage portion; For sealing in the form of a substantially square frame made of a metal such as iron-nickel-cobalt alloy brazed to the metallization layer for sealing of the insulating base through a brazing material such as silver brazing so as to surround the housing portion. It consists of a metal frame.
[0003]
The insulating base of the piezoelectric vibrator housing package is generally composed of a flat substrate, and a first frame portion and a second frame portion that are sequentially attached to the upper surface of the substrate. A housing portion for housing the piezoelectric vibrator is formed by the frame portion and the second frame portion. The first frame portion and the second frame portion have openings of substantially the same size, and the volume of the storage portion formed inside the opening is made as large as possible.
[0004]
Further, a part of the inner peripheral portion of the first frame portion projects so as to be exposed in the storage portion, and the electrode of the piezoelectric vibrator is connected to the exposed upper surface of the inner peripheral portion of the first frame portion. A wiring conductor is formed.
[0005]
The wiring conductor is led out from the exposed upper surface of the first frame portion to the outer surface such as the side surface or the lower surface of the insulating base, and the portion led to the outer surface is connected to an external electric circuit via solder or the like. By connecting, the electrode of the piezoelectric vibrator is electrically connected to an external electric circuit.
[0006]
Then, the piezoelectric vibrator is housed in the housing portion of the insulating base, and the electrodes of the piezoelectric vibrator are electrically connected to the wiring conductor via electrical connection means such as solder bumps, and then the second A lid body such as a metal lid body is formed on the upper surface of the frame portion, for example, a frame-shaped sealing metallization layer is previously formed on the upper surface of the second frame portion, and the frame-shaped sealing metallization layer is formed on the frame-shaped sealing metallization layer. By joining the metal lid by a method such as welding by a seam weld method, the piezoelectric vibrator is hermetically sealed inside the container composed of the insulating base and the lid, thereby forming an electronic device as a product. .
[0007]
Such a piezoelectric vibrator housing package is generally prepared by preparing a plurality of green sheets obtained by forming a raw material powder such as aluminum oxide into a sheet shape, and serving as the first and second frame portions of the green sheets. A punching process is performed to provide openings, and a paste of a metal powder such as tungsten is printed on the surface of the wiring pattern on a predetermined wiring conductor, and then these green sheets become substrates that are not punched. The first frame portion and the second frame portion are laminated in order and fired.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in such a package for accommodating a piezoelectric vibrator, the size of the electronic device becomes extremely small, about several millimeters, in accordance with the recent demand for downsizing of electronic devices, and an insulating base is formed accordingly. The widths of the first frame portion and the second frame portion are also becoming narrower.
[0010]
As the width of the first frame portion is reduced in this manner and the bonding area with the substrate is reduced, for example, at the bonding portion between the first frame portion and the substrate and the periphery thereof, for example, the second frame portion. Cracks are generated due to thermal stress generated when the metal lid is welded to the upper surface by the seam weld method or the like, and the problem arises that the airtight reliability of the storage portion for storing the piezoelectric vibrator is significantly reduced. It has become like this.
[0011]
The present invention has been devised in view of such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric vibrator housing package for containing a piezoelectric vibrator in an airtight manner. Even if the width of the joint portion between the first and second frame portions and the substrate forming the storage portion for sealing is reduced, the joint portion between the first and second frame portions and the substrate is reduced. Providing a piezoelectric vibrator housing package for obtaining a highly airtight and reliable electronic device that can operate normally and stably for a long time without causing cracks. There is to do.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, a first frame portion made of a ceramic material is laminated and attached to the upper surface of a substrate made of a plate-like ceramic material, and the upper surface of the first frame portion is attached with the first frame portion. A second frame portion made of a ceramic material having an opening larger than that of the first frame portion is laminated and attached, and the entire inner surface of the first frame portion extends from the upper surface of the substrate to the first frame. The inner peripheral portion of the first frame portion is exposed over the entire circumference, and the electrodes of the piezoelectric vibrator are connected to the exposed upper surface of the inner peripheral portion. The wiring conductor is formed, and the piezoelectric vibrator is connected to the wiring conductor via a conductive connecting material and accommodated inside the second frame portion.
[0013]
In the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, in the above configuration, a pair of the wiring conductors are formed adjacent to each other, and a recess is formed on the upper surface of the inner peripheral portion between the pair of wiring conductors. It is characterized by that.
[0015]
According to the package for accommodating a piezoelectric vibrator of the present invention, the first frame portion made of a ceramic material is laminated and attached to the upper surface of a substrate made of a flat ceramic material, and the upper surface of the first frame portion is attached. Since the second frame portion made of a ceramic material having an opening larger than that of the first frame portion is stacked and attached, the width of the second frame portion is narrowed to reduce the size of the package. The volume of the storage portion can be increased while being planned, and the width of the first frame portion can be made larger than the width of the second frame portion to increase the bonding area between the first frame portion and the substrate. Even if the package is downsized, the first frame portion can be firmly attached to the substrate.
[0016]
For this reason, even if the package is reduced in size, for example, even when a thermal stress is applied when the metal lid is welded to the upper surface of the second frame portion by the seam weld method or the like, It is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of cracks at the joint portion between the frame portion and the substrate and the periphery thereof. As a result, the air of the electronic device obtained by hermetically housing and sealing the piezoelectric vibrator in the housing portion formed by the substrate of the piezoelectric vibrator housing package, the first frame portion, and the second frame portion. It is possible to obtain an electronic device with high hermetic reliability in which hermetic sealing is complete and the piezoelectric vibrator accommodated in the inside can operate normally and stably over a long period of time.
[0017]
According to the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, the entire inner surface of the first frame portion is inclined so as to spread outward from the upper surface of the substrate toward the upper surface of the first frame portion. From the above, while ensuring a space for accommodating the piezoelectric vibrator inside the second frame portion , and without affecting the vibration characteristics of the piezoelectric vibrator, the bonding area between the first frame portion and the substrate 1 is increased. Since it can be increased, it is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of cracks in the joint portion between the first frame portion and the substrate and the periphery thereof, and to obtain an electronic device with high hermetic reliability.

【The invention's effect】
According to the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, the first frame part is attached to the upper surface of the substrate, and the second frame having an opening larger than the first frame part on the upper surface of the first frame part. Since the frame portion is attached, the volume of the storage portion can be increased while reducing the width of the second frame portion to reduce the size of the package, and the width of the first frame portion. Can be made larger than the width of the second frame portion to increase the bonding area between the first frame portion and the substrate, and even if the package is downsized, the first frame portion can be made strong against the substrate. Can be attached.
[0049]
For this reason, even if the package is reduced in size, for example, even when a thermal stress is applied when the metal lid is welded to the upper surface of the second frame portion by the seam weld method or the like, It is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of cracks in the joint portion between the frame portion and the first frame portion, the joint portion between the first frame portion and the substrate, and the periphery thereof. As a result, an electronic device obtained by housing the piezoelectric vibrator in the housing portion formed by the substrate of the piezoelectric vibrator housing package, the first frame portion, and the second frame portion, and sealing the lid with a lid body. [0050]
According to the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, a pair of wiring conductors are formed adjacent to each other, and an exposed inner peripheral portion of the first frame portion between the pair of wiring conductors is provided. When the recess is formed on the upper surface, when the pair of electrodes of the piezoelectric vibrator are connected to the pair of wiring conductors via the conductive connection material, the conductive connection material spreads more than necessary, so that the pair of wirings It is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of problems such as a decrease in electrical insulation and an electrical short between conductors.
[0051]
According to the piezoelectric vibrator housing package of the present invention, the entire inner surface of the first frame portion is inclined so as to spread outward from the upper surface of the substrate toward the upper surface of the first frame portion. From the above, while ensuring a space for accommodating the piezoelectric vibrator inside the second frame portion , and without affecting the vibration characteristics of the piezoelectric vibrator, the bonding area between the first frame portion and the substrate 1 is increased.
