Claims (7)
- ピーク光出力を有する発光ダイオードの平均光出力を決定する装置であって、発光ダイオードはピーク電流及び平均電流を有するパルス幅変調パルスにより駆動されるようになっており、この装置は、発光ダイオードのピーク光出力とパルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とに関連する定数を決定する手段と、この定数をパルス幅変調パルスの平均電流に乗算する手段とを有し、定数を決定する前記手段が、発光ダイオードのピーク光出力とパルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とを同時に測定する手段と、前記ピーク光出力を前記ピーク電流で割ることにより前記定数を決定する手段とを有している発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
- 請求項1に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、ピーク光出力を各々が有する第1及び第2発光ダイオードを、ピーク電流及び平均電流を各々が有する第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスによりそれぞれ駆動した際の、第1及び第2発光ダイオードのうち第1発光ダイオードの平均光出力を決定するために、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が、第1パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流に対する第1発光ダイオードのピーク光出力に関連する第1発光ダイオードの定数を決定する手段と、この第1発光ダイオードの定数を第1パルス幅変調パルスの平均電流に乗算する手段とを有し、第1発光ダイオードの定数を決定する前記手段が、第1発光ダイオードのピーク光出力と第1パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とを同時に測定する手段と、第1発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を第1パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流で割ることにより第1発光ダイオードの定数を計算する手段とを有している発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
- 請求項2に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスが時間の関数として部分的に重複するようにし、第1及び第2発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を単一の光センサにより測定するようにし、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が更に、
第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスが時間の関数として重複していない時点で、第1発光ダイオードのピーク光出力と第1パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とを同時に測定する手段と、
第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスが時間の関数として重複している時点で、第1及び第2発光ダイオードの双方の合成ピーク光出力と第2パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とを同時に測定する手段と、
第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスが重複していない時点での第1発光ダイオードに対し測定したピーク光出力を、第1及び第2パルス幅変調パルスが重複している時点で測定した第1及び第2発光ダイオードの合成ピーク光出力から減算することにより、第2発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を決定する手段と
を具えている発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。 - 請求項3に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が更に、第1及び第2発光ダイオードの合成ピーク光出力を測定するのと同時に第2パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流を測定することにより第2発光ダイオードの定数を決定する手段と、第2発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を第2パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流で割る手段とを具えている発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
- 請求項2又は3に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、第1、第2及び第3パルス幅変調パルスが時間の関数として互いに部分的に重複しており、第1、第2及び第3発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を単一の光センサにより測定する場合で、各々がピーク電流及び平均電流を有する第1、第2及び第3パルス幅変調パルスにより第1、第2及び第3発光ダイオードをそれぞれ駆動した際に、ピーク光出力を有する第3発光ダイオードの平均光出力を決定するようになっており、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が更に、第1、第2及び第3パルス幅変調パルスが時間の関数として重複していない時点で第3発光ダイオードのピーク光出力と第3パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流とを同時に測定することにより第3パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流に対する第3発光ダイオードのピーク光出力に関連する第3発光ダイオードの定数を決定する手段と、第3発光ダイオードのピーク光出力を第3パルス幅変調パルスのピーク電流で割る手段と、この第3発光ダイオードの定数を第3パルス幅変調パルスの平均電流に乗算する手段とを具えている発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
- 請求項1、3又は5に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が更に、第1パルス幅変調パルス、第2パルス幅変調パルス及び第3パルス幅変調パルスのそれぞれのパルス幅変調パルスの電流を時間に亙って積分することにより、第1パルス幅変調パルス、第2パルス幅変調パルス及び第3パルス幅変調パルスにおける少なくとも1つのパルス幅変調パルス電流群の電流平均値を決定する手段を具えている発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
- 請求項6に記載の発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置において、この発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置が更に、前記定数と、第1パルス幅変調パルス、第2パルス幅変調パルス及び第3パルス幅変調パルスのそれぞれのパルス幅変調パルスの電流平均値とを乗算する手段を具えている発光ダイオード平均出力決定装置。
