Description
磁歪式トルクセンサの回転軸11(ステアリング軸21)には、クロムモリブデン鋼(SCM材)、ニッケルクロムモリブデン鋼(SNC材)等の構造用鋼材が用いられている。前述した通り、回転軸11は、回転軸作製時の残留オーステナイト含有量により回転軸そのものの磁気特性が異なる。通常、鋼材表面に浸炭処理を行う際の焼き入れ温度、焼き戻し温度、Cp(カーボンポテンシャル)値、組成等に依存して、5〜15%程度の残留オーステナイトを含む回転軸11が納入される。納入される回転軸11は、メーカやロットによっても残留オーステナイト含有量が異なる。このような回転軸11に対して、磁気異方性付加工程P2で熱処理ステップS202を実行する時に加熱処理条件を同じにすると、最終的に作製された磁歪式トルクセンサのセンサ特性(中点特性、感度特性)に大きなバラツキが生じる。
残留オーステナイト含有量測定工程P10では、回転軸11の残留オーステナイト含有量を測定するために、回転軸11に対してコイル(以下「検出コイル」と記す)を利用した非破壊検査が実施される。すなわち、本実施形態では、検出コイルの中に回転軸11を挿通させて回転軸11の周囲に当該検出コイルを設置し、この検出コイルに交流電流を給電して励磁し、当該検出コイルによりそのコイル端子間インピーダンスを測定することにより間接的に回転軸11のシャフトインピーダンスを測定する。そして、回転軸11のシャフトインピーダンス測定値に基づいて回転軸11の材料の磁気状態を判定し、それに基づいて残留オーステナイト含有量を算出する。ここで、回転軸11の「シャフトインピーダンス」とは、上記検出コイルのコイルインピーダンスとして測定され、間接的に求められる回転軸11の磁気特性を表す特性値を意味する。

Claims (3)
- 磁歪式トルクセンサの回転軸の残留オーステナイト含有量を測定する残留オーステナイト含有量測定工程と、
前記回転軸に磁歪膜を形成する磁歪膜形成工程と、
前記残留オーステナイト含有量測定工程で得られた測定情報に応じた加熱処理条件に基づき前記磁歪膜に磁気異方性を付加する磁気異方性付加工程と、
を有することを特徴とする磁歪式トルクセンサの製造方法。 - 前記磁気異方性付加工程は、前記回転軸に対して、所定の捩りトルクを加えた状態で、前記残留オーステナイト含有量測定工程で測定した残留オーステナイト含有量に応じた加熱処理時間に基づき熱処理を行う熱処理工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の磁歪式トルクセンサの製造方法。
- 前記残留オーステナイト含有量測定工程では、前記回転軸の周囲に検出コイルを配置し、この検出コイルに交流電流を給電して励磁し、前記検出コイルで間接的に前記回転軸のシャフトインピーダンスを測定し、測定された前記シャフトインピーダンスに基づいて前記残留オーステナイト含有量を求めることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の磁歪式トルクセンサの製造方法。
