Description
Claims (10)
- 対向する基板間に液晶層を有し、
画素が配向分割された複数の副画素からなり、
前記副画素間に切り欠き又はスリットが形成されて前記副画素間を電気的に接続する接続部が設けられ、前記切り欠き又はスリットを除き前記接続部上に配置された誘電体を有する
液晶表示装置。 - 前記誘電体が形成される基板と対向する対向基板に画素電極が形成され、
前記各副画素の中心に位置する前記画素電極上に配向制御因子を有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記誘電体が形成されている基板側で、前記誘電体の下方に遮光体が形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記誘電体が形成されている基板に対向する対向基板の前記誘電体と対向する位置に遮光体が形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記誘電体が前記副画素間以外の前記副画素の周囲に配置されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記誘電体が前記対向する基板間の間隔を保持するスペーサを兼ねる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶層の液晶は垂直配向型である
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。 - 対向する基板間に液晶層を有し、画素が配向分割された複数の副画素からなる液晶表示装置を製造するとき、
前記液晶表示装置には、前記副画素間に切り欠き又はスリットを形成して前記副画素間を電気的に接続する接続部を設け、
前記切り欠き又はスリットの形成領域を除く前記接続部上に誘電体を形成する工程
を備えた液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記誘電体を前記対向する基板間に接続するように形成して、該誘電体に前記対向する基板間の間隔を保持するスペーサを兼ねさせる
ことを特徴とする請求項8記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記誘電体を画素電極の周囲もしくはその一部に形成する
ことを特徴とする請求項8記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
