Description
これらの特許はディーゼル粒子状物質用のフィルターとして使用するための多数の異なる物質組成を開示しているが、これらのフィルターの使用中に圧力降下が増大することに関連する重大な問題が依然として存在する。さらに、圧力降下の程度は、担体材料の触媒担持に大きく依存する。さらに、ディーゼル燃焼触媒には良好なイオウ毒耐性をもたないものがあり、また排気ガスの温度が高くなり過ぎると失活するものもある。
本発明の別の目的は、触媒材料を含浸した多孔質フィルター担体から製造されたディーゼル粒子状物質排気フィルターを開示することである。
コーニング社のコーディエライトセラミックス・モノリス・ディーゼル粒子状物質フィルター要素 (EX-80 、5.66インチ径で6インチ長さ、平方インチ当たり200 セル) をこの実施例の製造に使用した。セラミックスモノリス要素を、硝酸マグネシウムの形でマグネシウムを15g/l 、シュウ酸バナジルの形でバナジウムを20g/l 含有する水溶液500ml 中に浸漬した。含浸後、過剰の液体を減圧吸引によりフィルター要素から除去した。含浸後、被覆されたフィルター要素を125 ℃で2時間乾燥し、次いで550 ℃で3時間焼成した。バナジン酸マグネシウムの担持量は立法フィート当たり300 g(10.6g/l) であった。室温に冷却後、フィルター要素を、白金10g/l を含む白金サルファイトアシッド (H4Pt(SO4)4) の水溶液500ml 中に浸漬した。余分な液体を減圧吸引により除去した。含浸後、被覆されたフィルター要素を125 ℃で2時間乾燥し、次いで550 ℃で3時間焼成した。白金の担持量は重量基準で、立法フィート当たり50g(1.8g/l)であった。
ー要素のコアを、全体の要素から取り出し、再生の試験を行った。
コーニング社のコーディエライトセラミックス・モノリス・ディーゼル粒子状物質フィルター要素 (EX-80 、5.66インチ径で6インチ長さ、平方インチ当たり200 セル) をこの実施例の製造に使用した。酢酸マグネシウムの形でマグネシウムを15g/l 、クエン酸バナジウムの形でバナジウムを20g/l および白金サルファイトアシッドの形で白金を10g/l 含有する水溶液を調製した。この水溶液500ml 中にディーゼル粒子状物質フィルター要素を浸漬した。過剰の液体を減圧吸引により除去した。次いで要素を125 ℃で2時間乾燥し、550 ℃で3時間焼成した。最終の触媒は、公称の白金担持量が50g/ft3 であり、バナジン酸マグネシウムの担持量は300 g/ft3であった。直径1.75インチで長さ6インチの大きさのコアフィルター要素を、全体の要素から取り出し、再生の試験を行った。実施例1に述べたのと同じエンジンを、このフィルター要素の試験に用いた。次いで、粒子状物質が付着したフィルターをオフライン再生にかけた。再生の外部熱源として温風を用い、空間速度は2500H -1であった。フィルターによる圧降下をDywer 475 デジタルマノメーターで監視した。温風の温度は5分毎に10°上昇させた。粒子状物質が焼却されたら、温風の温度を、粒子状物質の完全な燃焼まで2時間保持した。添付の図2は、図3の触媒を担持しない排気フィルターと比較した、実施例2のフィルターのフィルター温度に対する圧降下のプロフィールを示す。結果は明らかに、フィルターによる圧降下は温度と共に増加し、温度が約380 〜410 ℃である場合にプラトーに達することを示す。これは、ディーゼル粒子状物質の燃焼がこの温度で生じることを示す。約410 ℃の温度で、圧降下は急激に減少し、これは粒子状物質が焼却されたことを意味する。
触媒を担持しないフィルター材要素を、実施例1と同様の方法で製造した。この触媒非担持フィルター材で同様の試験を行うと、図1および2に示すように、ディーゼル粒子状物質の焼却温度は約510 ℃であった。
本発明の技術思想を逸脱することなく具体的態様の改変、置換、省略および変化が可能であることは当然である。本発明は特許請求の範囲に包含されている。
Claims (11)
- アルカリ土類金属のバナジン酸塩と貴金属とを含む触媒材料を含浸した、ディーゼル粒子状物質排気ガスをろ過するための多孔質フィルター担体を含む、触媒を担持したディーゼル粒子状物質排気フィルター。
- アルカリ土類金属が、カルシウム、マグネシウムおよびバリウムよりなる群から選択される、請求項1記載の排気フィルター。
- 貴金属とアルカリ土類金属バナジン酸塩の重量比が1:1から1:50である、請求項1または2記載の排気フィルター。
- 多孔質フィルター担体の組成が、セラミックス、アルミナ、チタニア、ジルコニア、ボリア(boria)、コランダム、シリカ、マグネシア、チタン酸カリウム、シリカ−ジルコニア、チタニア−ジルコニア、チタニア−シリカ、シリカ−アルミナ、炭化ケイ素、チタニア被覆アルミナ、酸化タングステン被覆アルミナ、ジルコニア被覆アルミナ、コーディエライト、ムライト並びにこれらの混合物および組み合わせよりなる材料群から選択される、請求項1〜3のいずれかの項記載の排気フィルター。
- フィルター担体を被覆する触媒材料の量が、少なくとも200 g/ft3(7.1 g/l) である、請求項1〜4のいずれかの項記載の排気フィルター。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれかの項記載の排気フィルターにディーゼル排気ガスを通すことを含む、排気フィルターを用いてディーゼル排気ガスから粒子状物質をろ過する方法。
- 以下を含む、ディーゼル粒子状物質排気フィルターを製造するための方法。
多孔質フィルター担体を製造し、
この担体を、アルカリ土類金属のバナジン酸塩と貴金属とを含む触媒材料で含浸し、そして
含浸したフィルター担体を焼成して、排気フィルターを製造する。 - アルカリ土類金属が、マグネシウム、バリウムおよびカルシウムよりなる群から選択される、請求項7記載の方法。
- 貴金属とアルカリ土類金属バナジン酸塩の重量比が1:1から1:50である、請求項7または8記載の方法。
- 多孔質フィルター担体の組成が、アルミナ、チタニア、ジルコニア、ボリア (boria)、コランダム、シリカ、マグネシア、チタン酸カリウム、シリカ−アルミナ、シリカ−ジルコニア、炭化ケイ素、チタニア−ジルコニア、チタニア−シリカ、チタニア被覆アルミナ、酸化タングステン被覆アルミナ、ジルコニア被覆アルミナ、コーディエライト、ムライト並びにこれらの混合物および組み合わせよりなる材料の群から選択される、請求項7〜9のいずれかの項記載の方法。
- フィルター担体に含浸される触媒材料の量が、少なくとも200 g/ft3(7.1 g/l) である、請求項7〜10のいずれかの項記載の方法。
