Description
本発明は、新しいタイプの接着剤が、その新しい接着剤を用いて段ボール板(corrugated board)を製造するための好適な条件のもとで種々の紙の層を相互に接着させるために使用される段ボール板の製造方法に関する。使用される接着剤はバイオポリマーラテックス接着剤として示され、これは、例えば、デンプンから作製されたバイオポリマーナノ粒子から構成される。本発明にはまた、この方法を使用して製造される段ボール板も含まれる。
段ボール板はコルゲート化操作によって製造される。コルゲート化は、段ボール用中芯をコルゲーターに通し、そのとき、かみ合った段ロールが波形プロフィルを中芯に与えることにより行われる。接着剤が(片方側において)中芯の先端に付けられ、ライナーボードが中芯の接着剤側に接着剤で付けられ、片面が形成される。さらなる接着剤を中芯の非接着剤側に付けることによって、さらなるライナーボード層をその片面に接着することができ、これにより、標準的な両面段ボール板が製造される。コルゲート化および波形体用接着剤(corrugating adhesives)のより詳細な説明を「波形体用接着剤の調製」(W.O. コーシェル (W.O. Koeschell) 編、「パルプと紙に関する工業技術協会 (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Inc.)」、1977年)に見出すことができる。連続する片面ボードを相互に結合し、その後、ライナーボードを最後に付けることによって、多くの変形体および多重壁ボードを、上記に記載されたのと同じ一般的な様式で組み立てることができる。コルゲート化の際に使用される接着剤は、片面段ボール板ならびに両面(および多重壁)段ボール板の品質および製造効率において重要な役割を果たしている。
国際公開第WO00/69916号パンフレットに記載される技術を使用して、反応押出し加工によりバイオポリマーラテックス接着剤を調製した。未処理のジャガイモデンプン(PN)、コムギデンプン(WN)、トウモロコシデンプン(CN)、およびろう様トウモロコシデンプン(WCN)を使用して、ナノ粒子を調製した。デンプンナノ粒子から構成される押出し物のペレットを、その後、機械的な撹拌を使用して水に分散させた。ナノ粒子(35%(w/v)までの固形分)を、3枚羽根ミキサーを200rpmで使用して45℃で15分間〜60分間分散させた。得られたバイオポリマーラテックスの安定性は、デンプンおよび架橋レベルに依存することが見出された。
標準的な波形体用接着剤を、20.4%(w/w)[25.6%(w/v)に等しい]の総乾燥固形物含有量にトウモロコシデンプン(ロケッティ(Roquette)から得られるコリス HV(COLLYS HV))を使用して調製した。この標準的な接着剤は、表2に記載されるようにキャリア相および顆粒スラリー相からなった。キャリア相は、3.26部のトウモロコシデンプン、0.33部の水酸化ナトリウムおよび29.66部の水を使用して、60℃で機械的に撹拌されている水にデンプンを溶解することによって調製された[デンプン固形物=9.8%(w/w)]。続いて、キャリア相を室温に冷却した。顆粒相は、0.30部のホウ砂および16.47部のトウモロコシデンプンを50.00部の水に加え[デンプン固形物=24.7%(w/w)]、そして機械的な撹拌のもと、室温で混合物を撹拌することによって調製された。キャリア相を、機械的な撹拌のもと、室温で顆粒相に加えた[総デンプン固形物=19.7%(w/w)、すなわち、24.8%(w/v)]。このサンプルを実施例4のパイロットコルゲート化実験において使用した。
実施例1および実施例2で調製された接着剤の温度依存的な粘度特性を比較した。両方の接着剤調製物は固形分が26%(w/w)であり、温度は、25℃、30℃、40℃、50℃、60℃、70℃または80℃で設定された。選ばれたバイオポリマーラテックス接着剤はWCNから調製された。粘度を、接着剤サンプルを所望の温度で30秒間平衡化させた後に測定した。表3には、異なる温度において種々のサンプルについて得られた粘度が示される。
パイロット設備を使用して、段ボール板製造における実施例1のバイオポリマーラテックス接着剤(21%(w/w)の固形分において;15秒〜20秒のラウリー カップ(Laury Cup)粘度)の性能を実施例2の標準的なステイン ホール型接着剤(20%(w/w)の固形分において;15秒〜20秒のラウリー カップ粘度)と比較した。使用されたパイロットコルゲーターは工業用片面コルゲーターの縮小型であった。パイロットコルゲート化実験は、フィンガーを用いて、タイプAの13cm幅プロフィル(溝体のサイズ:幅=8.6mm、高さ=4.5mm)を使用して2つの接着剤タイプを比較するために行われた。典型的に使用される紙の異なる重量を識別するために「普通」および「重い」として示される2つのタイプの紙組合せを試験した。これらは下記のようにさらに記述される。(1)普通=試験ライナー(140g/m2)+波形材(Wellenstoff)(112g/m2);および(2)重い=クラフトライナー(190g/m2)+半化学的溝体(150g/m2)。
Claims (10)
- 50 ナノメートル〜 250 ナノメートルの間のサイズを有する離散バイオポリマーナノ粒子から構成されるバイオポリマーラテックス接着剤が、 10 % (w/v) 〜 50 % (w/v) の間の乾燥固形物含有量を有する水性分散物の波形体用接着剤として使用され、コルゲート化操作が、前記接着剤が存在するボードの表面温度が150℃未満および前記接着剤のpHが9未満である条件のもとで行われる、段ボール板の製造方法。
- 前記バイオポリマーラテックス接着剤が、架橋剤の存在下での剪断力を使用してバイオポリマーを可塑化することによって得ることができる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記バイオポリマーが、デンプン、セルロース、ヘミセルロース、タンパク質、これらのバイオポリマーの誘導体、およびこれらのバイオポリマーまたはそれらの誘導体の混合物から選択される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記バイオポリマーがデンプンである、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記バイオポリマーが高アミロペクチン型デンプンである、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記デンプンが少なくとも75%のアミロペクチンからなる、請求項4又は5に記載の方法。
- 前記デンプンが少なくとも90%のアミロペクチンからなる、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記ラテックス接着剤が、20%(w/v)〜35%(w/v)の間の乾燥固形物含有量を有する水性分散物として使用される、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記バイオポリマーラテックス接着剤が、少なくとも1つのコルゲート化中芯を少なくとも1つのライナーに接着させるために用いられる、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法によって製造された段ボール板であって、少なくとも1つのコルゲート化中芯および少なくとも1つのライナーが、50ナノメートル〜250ナノメートルの間である粒子サイズを有するバイオポリマー粒子を含有する層によって接着される段ボール板。
