Description
本発明の第1の実施の形態は、対象となる試料の組成を計測する装置を提供するものである。対象となる試料は、合金、土壌サンプル、又は工芸品のような素材でも良い。この装置は、対象となる試料に応答してX線信号を出力する蛍光X線分析装置(X-ray fluorescence detector)を具備する。この蛍光X線分析装置は特定の閾値以上の成分に対して敏感である。一般にこの閾値を持つ成分はチタニュームである。本装置はまた、対象となる試料に応答して光信号を出力する光学分光計を具備する。一実施の形態においては、光学分光計はレーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置(laser induced photon fluorescence detector)である。このレーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置は、一般にナトリウム、炭素及び酸素を含む上記閾値以下の軽量な成分に対して敏感である。さらに、分析し、そしてX線信号の出力と光信号の出力とを結合し、試料の組成を決定するプロセッサーが装備される。このプロセッサーは、蛍光X線分析装置とレーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置から出力信号を受け取り、データの分析を開始する。分析により、アルミ合金などの合金のような処理中の材料の種類を決める。次いで、プロセッサーは、共通成分に関する出力信号に関する出力信号からのデータを比較し、試料中の成分濃度が含まれる可視的な出力を生成するために、光信号出力データを計測する。一実施の形態においては、蛍光X線分析装置、光学分光計、及びプロセッサーは単一のハウジング内に収納される。他の実施形態においては、共通のプロセッサーを共有するものの、蛍光X線分析装置と光学分光計とは同じハウジング内には収納されない。
図1は、合金、土壌、工芸品、又はあらゆる基材のような試料の組成を測定する装置100である。この装置は、LIPF(レーザー誘起蛍光量子、laser induced photon fluorescence)分析装置4と共に、XRF分析装置2を内蔵する。この2つの分析装置は電気的に分析プロセッサー8と結合している。分析プロセッサー8は、XRF分析装置2からの信号と、LIPF分析装置4からの信号とを受け取り、生成された信号を分析して、試料を構成する成分を計測する。LIPF分析装置4は連続的に用いてもよく、時間分解された分光計として用いても良い。一実施の形態において、XRF分析装置とLIPF分析装置によりなされる計測は、各々数秒以内である。他の実施の形態においては、この計測は同時に行われる。好ましくは、これらの分析装置は、計測が、このテスト試料をXRF分析装置から取り除き別のLIPF分析装置に置くまでの時間より短いインターバル期間に行われるように動作する。特定の実施の形態においては、XRF分析装置とLIPF分析装置は、共通のハウジングに収納される。他の実施の形態においては、LIPF分析装置のレーザーは、XRF分析装置とは別にしても良いが、共通の分析プロセッサーと表示装置を共有する。
Claims (12)
- 対象試料の成分の組成を特定する装置であって、
放射線源に曝すことにより蛍光X線を発する前記対象試料に応答してX線信号出力を発生する蛍光X線分析装置と、
レーザー光に曝すことにより光を発する前記対象試料に応答して光信号出力を発生する光学分光計と、
前記蛍光X線分析装置及び前記光学分光計は、前記対象試料中の、少なくとも1つの共通成分に対して敏感であり、
前記X線信号出力と前記光信号出力とを分析し、前記共通成分の絶対濃度についての前記X線信号出力からのデータと、前記共通成分の相対濃度についての前記光信号出力からのデータとを用いて、前記光信号出力からの成分の組成のデータを正規化して、前記対象試料の成分の組成を特定するプロセッサーと、
を具備することを特徴とする装置。 - 前記光学分光計は、レーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記レーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置と前記蛍光X線分析装置は、両方とも対象試料の共通領域を分析するよう、前記装置内に設置されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記レーザー誘起蛍光量子分析装置と前記蛍光X線分析装置は前記プロセッサーと結合されており、該プロセッサーは前記2つの分析装置を同時に動作させるようになっていることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサーは、表示装置に表示可能な、試料の組成の信号を出力することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、ポータブルな装置であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、バッテリーで動作することを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記蛍光X線分析装置はチタニュームより重い試料の成分を特定することができることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- さらに、前記蛍光X線分析装置と光学分光計とを収納するハウジングを具備することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 対象試料の成分の組成を測定する方法であって、
蛍光X線分析を用いて対象試料の第1の成分の濃度を計測するステップと、
レーザー誘起蛍光量子分析を用いて対象試料の第1の成分に対する第2の成分の相対濃度を計測するステップと、
前記第1の成分の濃度と前記第1の成分に対する前記第2の成分の相対濃度に基づいて、前記第2の成分の濃度をプロセッサーで測定するステップと、
を具備することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記蛍光X線分析は、第2の成分の濃度を計測できないことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の成分は前記第1の成分より小さい原子量を持つことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
