Description
しかしながら、上記のような構造の車両は、出力性能、燃費、低温始動性、排気ガスなどの面で多くの問題点を有し、最近ではLPI車両が開発されて使用されている。LPI車両は、ボンベに内内蔵された燃料ポンプを使用して、燃料をインジェクタに送り、インジェクタが燃料を液体状態でエンジンに噴射するようになっていて、LPG車両と比べて出力性能、燃費、低温始動性、排気ガスなどの面で優れている。
図1に示すように、LPI車両では、フロアパネル1が低く、最低の地上高さの確保を考慮すると、一つのボンベでは必要な燃料容量を確保しにくいため、燃料ポンプ10が内蔵されたメインボンベ20と2つの補助ボンベ30、32とを搭載している。
LPI車両が、燃料の残りが不足した状態(約ボンベ容量の10%以下)で、一定勾配(例えば、11.3゜)以上の上り坂を走行するようになると、メインボンベ20と補助ボンベ32の燃料が、補助ボンベ30に流れるようになる。
この時、燃料パイプ40に備えられた燃料遮断装置60が、補助ボンベ30に流れる燃料を遮断する。これによって、燃料ポンプ10が備えられたメインボンベ20の燃料が移動することによって発生する燃料切れ現象を防止することができる。
これによって、スロットルバルブアクチュエータ68が、燃料パイプ40に設けられたスロットルバルブ69を作動させて燃料パイプ40を閉鎖し、燃料パイプ40を通る燃料の流れを遮断する。
これによって、スロットルバルブアクチュエータ68が、スロットルバルブ69を作動させて燃料パイプ40を開放することにより、燃料パイプ40を通じて燃料が流動されるようになる。
この時、燃料パイプ50に備えられた燃料遮断装置70が、補助ボンベ32に流れる燃料を遮断するので、燃料ポンプ10が備えられたメインボンベ20の燃料が移動することによって発生する燃料切れ現象を防止することができる。

Claims (2)
- 燃料ポンプを内蔵するメインボンベと1つ以上の補助ボンベとが燃料パイプを介して車両の前後方向に連結されており、車両が傾斜路を走行することによって前記補助ボンベがメインボンベの下側に位置した時に前記燃料パイプを遮断する燃料遮断装置を備えたLPI車両のマルチボンベ連結装置において、
前記燃料遮断装置は、
前記車両が水平なときに補助ボンベ側がメインボンベ側よりも高くなる勾配の通路が内部に形成されたハウジングと、
前記通路内に配置され、前記車体の前後方向の傾斜によって通路の補助ボンベ側がメインボンベ側より低くなったとき通路内を補助ボンベ側に移動するボールと、
前記ボールの補助ボンベ側への移動によって加圧されて通路内をスライドするパネルと、
前記パネルを前記ボール側へリターンさせるためのスプリングと、
前記加圧によるパネルのスライドによって作動するスイッチと、
前記スイッチによって制御されるスロットルバルブアクチュエータと
前記スロットルバルブアクチュエータの作動によって前記燃料パイプを開閉するスロットルバルブと、
を有していることを特徴とするLPI車両のマルチボンベ連結装置。 - 前記燃料パイプより高い位置で前記メインボンベと補助ボンベとを連結する補助燃料パイプがさらに備えられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のLPI車両のマルチボンベ連結装置。
