Description
燃料極:H2→2H++2e-(1)
空気極:1/2O2+2H++2e-→H2O(2)
本実施の形態において、一方の面に燃料流路が形成された燃料電池用セパレータ、一方の面に空気流路が形成された燃料電池用セパレータ、および燃料電池について、互いに略平行な複数の流路が形成されている場合を例に説明する。また、本実施の形態においては、燃料流路の裏面に冷却水流路が形成されている構成を例に説明するが、これに限定されるものではなく、空気流路の裏面に冷却水流路が形成されてもよいし、あるいは、一方の面に冷却水流路が形成された燃料電池用セパレータを個別に設けた構成としてもよい。
図1(A)は、一方の面に燃料流路が形成された燃料電池用セパレータの基板の燃料流路が設けられた一方の面の立面図である。図1(A)に示すように、基板103の一方の面には、燃料ガスを燃料供給用第1マニホールド107から導入する燃料導入流路125と、矩形の流路形成領域の長手方向に互いに実質的に平行に形成された複数の燃料流路105と、燃料導入流路125と複数の燃料流路105を連結する燃料供給用第2マニホールド115と、燃料排出用第1マニホールド109を介して燃料ガスを排出する燃料排出流路127と、複数の燃料流路105と燃料排出流路127を連結する燃料排出用第2マニホールド117と、が形成されている。
図6は、本実施の形態における一方の面に燃料流路が形成された燃料電池用セパレータの冷却水流路が設けられた他方の面の構成を示した図である。図6のセパレータの基本構成は図1(B)と同様であるが、冷却水導入流路129が、燃料供給用第1マニホールド107および空気供給用第1マニホールド167の外周全体に形成された点が異なる。
Claims (7)
- 電解質および該電解質の両面に配設された一対の電極を含む膜電極接合体と、
前記膜電極接合体を挟持する一対のセパレータと、
を有し、
前記一対のセパレータには、それぞれ反応ガス供給用開口部が設けられ、一方の面に、反応ガス流路と、前記反応ガス供給用開口部から前記反応ガス流路に反応ガスを導く反応ガス導入流路と、を有し、
少なくとも一方の前記セパレータの前記反応ガス導入流路の裏面に前記反応ガスより温度が高い冷却水の流路が設けられたことを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1に記載の燃料電池において、前記冷却水の流路は、前記反応ガス供給用開口部の外周全体に前記冷却水が通水するように構成されたことを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1または2に記載の燃料電池において、
前記一対のセパレータには冷却水供給用開口部が設けられ、
前記反応ガス供給用開口部および前記冷却水供給用開口部は、前記反応ガス流路の上方に設けられ、
前記冷却水供給用開口部は、前記反応ガス供給用開口部よりも実質的に上方に位置し、
前記冷却水が前記冷却水開口部から鉛直下方に向かって流れるように構成されたことを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項3に記載の燃料電池において、
前記冷却水供給用開口部が、前記燃料ガスおよび酸化剤ガスをそれぞれ供給する二つの前記反応ガス供給用開口部の間に位置し、
前記酸化剤ガスを供給する前記反応ガス供給用開口部よりも前記燃料ガスを供給する前記反応ガス供給用開口部に前記冷却水供給用開口部が近接していることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1乃至4いずれかに記載の燃料電池において、前記反応ガス導入流路は、前記反応ガス供給用開口部から上部に向かって設けられた接続流路を含むことを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 反応ガス供給用開口部と、一方の面に設けられた反応ガス流路および前記反応ガス供給用開口部から前記反応ガス流路に反応ガスを導く反応ガス導入流路と、を有し、
前記反応ガス導入流路の裏面に前記反応ガスより温度が高い冷却水の流路が設けられたことを特徴とする燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 請求項6に記載の燃料電池用セパレータにおいて、前記冷却水の流路は、前記反応ガス供給用開口部の外周全体に前記冷却水が通水するように構成されたことを特徴とする燃料電池用セパレータ。
