Description
(1)窒酸化チタン、酸化チタン、窒化チタン、金属チタンのうち少なくとも1つをターゲット材料とし、これを窒素ガスを含む雰囲気中でスパッタすることで、基材上に薄膜として形成する。
(2)窒酸化チタン、酸化チタン、窒化チタン、金属チタンのうち少なくとも一つを蒸発材料とし、これを窒素ガスを含む雰囲気中で蒸着、あるいはイオンプレーティングすることで、基材上に薄膜として形成する。
(3)酸化チタンあるいは含水酸化チタンをアンモニアガスを含む雰囲気、あるいは窒素ガスを含む雰囲気、あるいは窒素ガスと水素ガスの混合雰囲気中で熱処理することで、形成する。
(4)チタンアルコキシド溶液を、アンモニアガスを含む雰囲気、窒素ガスを含む雰囲気、あるいは窒素と水素の混合ガス雰囲気で熱処理することで、製造する。
(5)酸化チタンを、窒素原子を含むガスのプラズマ中で処理することで、製造する。
(6)窒酸化チタン、酸化チタン、窒化チタン、金属チタンのうち少なくとも一つを蒸発材料とし、これを窒素ガスを含む雰囲気中で真空中蒸発させ、これを別の真空槽へ差圧により移送することで、基材上に薄膜として形成する。
(7)エマルジョン燃焼法において、エマルジョン中の水相である金属塩水溶液あるいはサスペンジョン中にアンモニア、ヒドラジン等の窒素元素を含むイオンあるいは分子(硝酸イオンは除く)が存在し、かつ反応装置内に導入する酸素量がエマルジョン中に含まれる燃焼成分(油及び界面活性剤)が完全燃焼しかつ水溶液中に含まれる金属イオン(あるいは金属化合物)が大気中で最も安定な酸化物を形成するために必要な酸素量(以後、必要酸素量)以下の雰囲気中でエマルジョンを噴霧燃焼させること、により製造する。
(8)エマルジョン燃焼法において、エマルジョン中の水相である金属塩水溶液あるいはサスペンジョン中にアンモニア、ヒドラジン等の窒素原子を含むイオンあるいは分子(硝酸イオンは除く)が存在するかわりに、アンモニア等の窒素含有ガス(窒素ガスは除く)を含みかつ反応装置内に導入する酸素量が必要酸素量よりも少ない雰囲気中でエマルジョンを噴霧燃焼させること、により製造する。
(9)酸化チタンと窒化チタンを混合し、これを400〜700℃の範囲の温度で熱処理することで、製造する。
(10)窒化チタン、あるいは窒酸化チタンを、酸素、オゾン、水分子、あるいはヒドロキシル基を含む酸化雰囲気中で熱処理あるいはプラズマ処理することで光触媒物質を製造する。
「実施形態1」
図1は、実施形態1の構成を示す図であり、SiO2基板10上に、光触媒物質であるTi−O−N膜12が形成されている。このTi−O−N膜12は、酸化チタン結晶の酸素サイトの一部が窒素原子で置換された構造を有している。なお、酸化チタン結晶の格子間に窒素原子がドープされている構造でもよく、両者が混在していてもよい。また、Ti−O−N膜12における各元素の組成比は、例えばTi31O67N2である。従って、Ti−O−N膜12は、基本的に酸化チタンの結晶であり、酸化チタン膜中にNが含有された構成となっている。また、酸化チタン結晶の結晶相は、ルチルでもアナターゼでもよいが、例えばアナターゼ+ルチルである。
図3に、実施形態2の構成を示す。図3(a)において、SiO2基板10上にTi−O−N膜12を形成し、その上に酸化チタン膜14を形成している。なお、図2おいては、二層の積層構造としているが、熱処理などの過程で両者の境界は明確ではなくなり、表面に向けてNが徐々に減少していく構成となる。すなわち、表面に近いほどN原子量が少なく、かつ最表面では酸化チタンが露出した傾斜組成のTi−O/Ti−O−N膜が形成される。なお、Ti−O−N膜と、酸化チタン膜の界面をシャープなものに維持してもよい。
図4(a)、図4(b)に、本発明の実施形態3の構成を示す。この実施形態の光触媒体の内部は酸化チタンTiO2であり、外部の最表面側がTi−O−Nとなっている。またこのときのTi−O−N層は、最表面全体を覆いつくしてもよいし、表面の一部のみに形成してもよい。このような構成は、主として酸化チタン粉末や薄膜を出発材料として、熱処理やプラズマ処理などの後処理により、表面側から窒化処理を行った場合に実現される。
図5(a)、図5(b)、図5(c)に、本発明の実施形態4の構成を示す。
上述の実施形態1〜4に記載した構造の特徴に示した結果から、本発明の光触媒体の製法にも工夫が必要となる。すなわち、窒素原子が負のイオン価を有しやすいような条件を選択する必要がある。
1. 還元雰囲気を用いる。
2. 材料を構成するTi,O,N原子を熱、イオンビームやプラズマ照射により分離したのちに窒素含有酸化チタンを再結合、再構成させるため、真空槽内での反応を用いる。
等の点が挙げられる。
以下に、本発明の可視光動作型光触媒の具体例をあげる。
この具体例1は、上記実施形態1に対応するTi−O−N膜である。RFマグネトロンスパッタリング装置を使用して、酸化チタンターゲットを(N2+Ar)プラズマ中でスパッタすることによりTi−O−N膜を基板上に形成した。基板はSiO2とした。スパッタリング中の全ガス圧は0.52Paとし、N2分圧を0%〜100%の間で変更した。堆積速度は3〜8nm/minであった。成膜後に、窒素雰囲気中で550℃で2時間熱処理し、Ti−O−N膜を結晶化させた。Ti−O−N膜中の結晶相はアナターゼ+ルチルであり、TiNは観察されなかった。また、40%N2+Ar中でスパッタした膜の熱処理後の組成比をXPS(X線電子分光法)で分析したところ、Ti31O67N2であった。また窒素のN1s殻スペクトルのピークは、397eV付近と400eV付近の双方に観察され、Ti−O−N相中にはTi−N結合が存在することも確認された。
具体例1では、Ti−O−N膜表面の接触角が可視光のみの照射により小さくなることから、可視光のみの照射でも動作する光触媒であることを明らかにした。しかし、この膜の接触角θを、ミラー、窓等の親水性を利用した応用の観点に着目し、接触角の絶対値のみを比較すると、本発明のTi−O−N膜は酸化チタン膜より劣る。そこで、この具体例2では、上記実施形態2に対応するTi−O−N膜と酸化チタン膜の積層型の膜構成を有する光触媒を作製した。
この具体例3では、前記具体例1、2の膜の表面における有機物の分解性能の比較例を示す。図12に、各触媒膜の表面に塗布した有機物の、光照射による分解量を示す。比較のため、ゾル・ゲル法により作製された、同等の膜厚の酸化チタン光触媒膜の市販品の結果もあわせて示す。光源は、Xeランプであり、照射波長域はシャープカットフィルタで調節し、さらに試料の温度上昇を防ぐために熱線吸収フィルタを用いた。照射光量は、紫外光域のみの値で約13mW/cm2である。
具体例4では、酸化チタン粉末を初期材料として窒化処理をした具体例について述べる。市販のルチル型酸化チタン粉末(石原産業、TTO−55(N))をアンモニアとアルゴンの混合ガス中で600℃、3時間処理したものを用いた。光触媒性能は、可視光を10時間照射後のλ=670nmにおけるメチレンブルー水溶液の吸光度の変化で評価した。光源には、10W蛍光管(松下電工、FL10N)の周囲に紫外線カットフィルタ(富士フィルム、SC42)を取り付けたものを用い、ほぼλ≧400nmの可視光照射とした。紫外線強度は、0.0μW/cm2であった(トプコン製の光強度計、UVR−2及びUD−36使用)。また光触媒の計測時には、光触媒がないときのメチレンブルーの光分解、ならびに暗所での吸着、あるいは光吸着による吸光度変化の影響を除去した。
具体例4で、酸化チタン粉末を後処理することにより本発明の光触媒体を実現できることを述べた。しかし粒径の大きな酸化チタン粒子、あるいは酸化チタンの厚い膜を後で窒化する場合、処理条件によっては触媒体の内部は酸化チタンで、外部の最表面側がTiO−Nとなる場合もある。
本発明のTi−O−N光触媒を有機繊維やプラスチックなどに練り込んで使用する場合、Ti−O−N光触媒と前記有機繊維やプラスチックが直接接触することにより分解されてしまうという問題が生じる。そこでこの問題を解決するために、Ti−O−N光触媒の表面に、より触媒活性の低いセラミックを坦持させるのが有効であることがわかった。ただし、この場合、Ti−O−Nの表面全体をセラミックで覆ってしまうと、光触媒反応により酸化、あるいは還元させるべき物質とTi−O−Nの直接接触が妨げられるため、光触媒効果が低下してしまう。したがって、坦持されるセラミックは、図5(a)、図5(b)、図5(c)に示すように島状、針状あるいは網目状に坦持させる。
以下の具体例では、本発明の光触媒についての各種製造方法の具体例について述べる。
本具体例では、スパッタリングにより、石英基板上にTi−O−N薄膜光触媒薄膜を作成する光触媒体の製造例を示す。
酸化チタン(III)(Ti2O3)を、ガラス基板上に電子ビーム蒸着により蒸着する。この時、窒素ガスを、総圧力が0.0266Pa(0.2mTorr)となるように真空チャンバに導入する。製造した膜を、500℃の100%窒素ガス雰囲気中で2時間熱処理することにより、アナターゼ+ルチル構造のTi−O−N膜が製造する。この膜のXPS分析の結果、TiとN原子間の結合が確認され、またX線回折結果からはTiNあるいはTi2N結晶が見られないことから、窒素原子が、酸化チタン結晶の酸素サイトの一部を置換すること、または酸化チタン結晶の格子間にドーピングされること、または酸化チタンの結晶粒界にドーピングされることのいずれかまたはこれらの組み合わせを有するTi−O−N光触媒を形成したと判断できる。
本具体例では、アルコキシドを用いたゾルゲル法での製造例を示す。チタニアゾルは、超微粒子の酸化チタンを水に懸濁させたり、アルコールと四塩化チタンや金属チタンとの反応などによって得られるチタンのアルコキシドを加水分解したりすることによって調製される。その際、モノエタノールアミンやジエタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミン、N−メチルジエタノールアミン、N−エチルジエタノールアミン、N,N−ジメチルジアミノエタノール、ジイソプロパノールアミンなどのアルコールアミン類やジエチレングリコールなどのグリコール類を添加すると均一で透明なチタニアゾルが得られる。
本実施形態では、ガス中処理によりTi−O−Nを坦体の表面にコーティングする方法を示す。チタン酸化物粒子を分散懸濁させた溶液中に、ハニカム構造体を30分浸すことにより、構造体の表面に上記チタン酸化物分散溶液をコーティングする。これをアンモニアガス、あるいは窒素を含む雰囲気中で550℃において熱処理を行うことにより、溶液分は蒸発し、その結果ハニカム構造体の表面にTi−O−Nが形成される。熱処理温度は450℃以上700℃以下の範囲内であればよい。
本実施形態では、超微粒子光触媒Ti−O−N膜の作製例を示す。製造した装置は、図17に示す装置であり、超微粒子生成室10、差動排気室12、膜形成室14からなり、超微粒子生成室10は差動排気室12と管16により接続され、差動排気室12と膜形成室14が弁20を有する管18によって連結されている。また、超微粒子生成室10、差動排気室12、膜形成室14には、真空ポンプ22がそれぞれ弁を介し接続されている。さらに、超微粒子生成室10には、抵抗加熱可能なコンポジットECポート24が設けられており、またヘリウムガスおよび窒素+酸素混合ガスが導入できるようになっている。また、膜形成室14には、成膜台26が設けられている。
本具体例では、エマルション燃焼法を用いた、大きな比表面積のTi−O−N光触媒粉末の製造方法を示す。本発明の製造方法は、チタン、あるいはチタンと窒素原子の両方を含む物質、あるいはチタンを含む物質と窒素原子を含む物質の両方を可燃性液体中に懸濁させたサスペンション、または上記物質を溶解した溶液を、可燃性液体中に乳濁させたエマルションのうちの一方または双方を噴霧するとともに該サスペンションまたはエマルションを窒素雰囲気、アンモニアガス雰囲気のいずれはあるいはこれらの組み合わせで加熱するものである。
本発明の光触媒を実現する方法として、窒化チタン、あるいは酸窒化チタンを酸化する方法も有効である。ここでは、窒化チタン粉末を酸素雰囲気中で酸化する具体例について述べる。
上記具体例に示した光触媒体を膜構造にした場合の、図14(a)に示す波長λ≧410nmの可視光照射におけるメチレンブルーの分解性能を図14(b)に示す。測定したサンプルは、薄膜形状にしやすい実施形態の実験結果を示した。具体的には、図中○で示したのが既に説明した具体例7のスパッタリングにより作成したTi−O−N膜、□(白抜きの四角)で示したのが具体例8の蒸着膜、黒塗りの四角で示したのが具体例8のイオンプレーティング膜、△(白抜きの三角)で示したのが具体例10の酸化チタンのアンモニア処理膜、についての実験結果である。また、比較例として、酸化チタン膜の特性も図に◆(黒塗りの菱形)で示した。これらの結果から、本発明の光触媒体、ならびに製造方法は、紫外光のみならず可視光の照射によっても高い活性を呈する光触媒の実現に有効であることが明らかである。
なお、本発明のTi−O−Nの結晶系であるが、材料内部に窒化チタンTiN結晶を形成することは好ましくない。本発明にかかわるTi−O−NではN原子は、上述したように、酸化チタン結晶の格子間に窒素原子をドーピングすること、または酸化チタンの結晶粒界に窒素原子をドーピングすること、より好ましくは酸化チタン結晶の酸素サイトの一部を窒素原子で置換すること、のいずれかまたはこれらの組み合わせによるため、X線回折法による解析では酸化チタンの回折線のみが現れる。一般に従来技術の酸化チタン光触媒では、アナターゼ型の活性が高いため望ましいとされているが、本発明のTi−O−N光触媒では、その基本結晶としてアナターゼ、ルチル、ブルッカイトのいずれの結晶系でもよい。

- エマルジョン燃焼法において、エマルジョン中の水相である金属塩水溶液あるいはサスペンジョン中に窒素元素を含むイオンあるいは分子であって硝酸イオンは除くものが存在し、かつ反応装置内に導入する酸素量がエマルジョン中に含まれる油及び界面活性剤を含む燃焼成分が完全に燃焼しかつ水溶液中に含まれる金属イオンあるいは金属化合物が大気中で最も安定な酸化物を形成するために必要な酸素量以下の雰囲気中でエマルジョンを噴霧燃焼させ、酸化チタン結晶に窒素を含有させたTi−O−N構成を有し、可視光領域において光触媒作用を発現する光触媒物質の製造方法。
- エマルジョン燃焼法において、エマルジョン中の水相である金属塩水溶液あるいはサスペンジョン中に窒素原子を含むイオンあるいは分子であって硝酸イオンは除くものが存在するかわりに、窒素含有ガスであって窒素ガスは除くガスを含みかつ反応装置内に導入する酸素量が必要酸素量よりも少ない雰囲気中でエマルジョンを噴霧燃焼させ、酸化チタン結晶に窒素を含有させたTi−O−N構成を有し、可視光領域において光触媒作用を発現する光触媒物質の製造方法。
