Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 ［産業上の利用分野］ 本考案は照明装置、主に面光源のための照明装置に関
するものである。
［従来の技術］ 液晶表示板のバックライトとして面光源装置が用いら
れ、この面光源装置等に拡散板が利用されている。
例えば面光源装置は、第２図に示すような構成で、光
源１と反射板２と拡散板３とより構成され、光源１より
直接拡散板３へ達する光や反射板２により反射された光
によって、光源１からの光を拡散板３へ当てる。これら
の光が拡散板３を通過する時に拡散光となることによっ
て、拡散板３の表面は一様に輝くことになり面光源を形
成する。この面光源装置において、明るさをより大にす
るために、第２図に示すような透明材料よりなりその表
面に断面が鋸切りの歯のような形状をした透光板４を拡
散板３に僅かな空気層を介して重ね配置したものが知ら
れている。又拡散板３は、透明板の表面を粗面に加工し
たものや、透明板の内部に乳白材を混入することにより
拡散板内部に拡散作用を持たせたものなどが知られてい
るが、多くは後者のものが利用される。
［考案が解決しようとする課題］ 上記のような透光板と拡散板を組合わせた従来の照明
装置は、透光板と拡散板との間の空気層部分で生ずる干
渉縞と思われる若干色づいた縞模様が発生するため、拡
散光の均一性がそこなわれる。又、上記のように透光板
と拡散板とを配置した面光源装置を液晶表示板のバック
ライトとして使用した場合、前記の縞模様が表示面に影
響を与え好ましくない。
［課題を解決するための手段］ 本考案の照明装置は、表面に多数の凹凸を形成した拡
散板と、表面を鋸歯状にした透光板とを拡散板の凹凸両
側と透光板の平面側とが互いに向かい合うようにして空
気層を介して重ね合わせたもので、これによって明るく
しかも縞模様がほとんど発生しない。
［実施例］ 第１図は本考案による面光源装置の断面図である。こ
の図において面光源装置の基本的構成は、第２図に示す
ものと実質上同じである。この実施例の面光源装置は、
光源１の上に、透明板内部に乳白色材を混入した拡散板
３と表面を断面鋸歯状にした透光板４とが配置されてい
る。そして拡散板３の表面（光源側と反対側の面）を例
えばマット処理等によってシボ面５にしてある。そして
図面には拡散板３と透明板４とが離れて記載されている
が、両者を僅かな空気層を介して重ね合わせたものであ
る。
この実施例の面光源装置は、縞模様が全くあらわれな
かった。
一方ほぼ同じ条件の第２図に示す構成の面光源装置で
は、縞模様があらわれる。
［考案の効果］ 本考案の照明装置によれば、明るくしかも縞模様の生
じない均一な輝度分布を実現できるので、特に面光源の
ための照明装置に大変有効である。

    (57)【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】光源の出射側に拡散板を配置し、前記拡散
    板の前記光源とは反対側の面上に、間に空気層ができる
    ようにして、前記光源とは反対側の面が断面形状鋸歯状
    をしている透光板が重ね合わされている照明装置におい
    て、前記拡散板の前記光源とは反対側の面に凹凸を形成
    したことを特徴とする照明装置。
