Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本考案は品質の等級表示が外表面に刻設されたシリコ
ン単結晶引上げ用石英ルツボに関する。
〔技術背景〕
シリコン単結晶は現在主にCZ法によって製造されてお
り、多結晶シリコンを溶融して単結晶に引上げる際に、
溶融した多結晶シリコンを溜める石英ルツボが用いられ
ている。ところで、上記シリコン単結晶は製造される半
導体の用途に応じた品質を有することが求められる。従
ってシリコン単結晶引上げ時の石英ルツボからの不純物
混入を制御するには、多結晶シリコンの純度に見合った
品質の石英ルツボを用いる必要がある。具体的には、現
在使用されている石英ルツボはその不純物量によって次
表に示す等級に区分されており、1Mバイトの半導体チッ
プを製造するには第３グレード、4M〜16Mバイトの半導
体チップを製造するには第４グレードの石英ルツボが夫
々用いられる。
ところが現在、石英ルツボの梱包用袋に品質表示等の
ラベルが貼付されているが、石英ルツボを該袋から取り
出した後は、その等級を判断する手掛りが全くなく、屡
々誤って使用されている。
〔考案の効果〕
本考案は、従来の上記問題を解決したものであり、石
英ルツボの品質等級が容易に判別できる多結晶引上げ用
石英ルツボを提供することを目的とする。
本考案によれば、ルツボ上端面から30mmまでの外表面
に、品質の等級識別印が刻設されていることを特徴とす
るシリコン単結晶引上げ用石英ルツボが提供される。
図示するように、本考案の石英ルツボは、その外表面
に等級を表示する識別印が刻設されている。ここで刻設
とは、ダイヤモンドエアツールなどによりルツボ外表面
に識別印を研削することを言う。該識別印は酸洗浄、水
洗、払拭および加熱などによって消えることがないこと
が必要であり、エッチングなどの艶消し手段で印を施し
た程度のものは、ルツボ外表面が半溶融状態の石英粉に
覆われた粗面であるため、印が不明瞭であり、しかも酸
洗浄や使用時の加熱により印が容易に消失するので好ま
しくない。またガラスに着色成分を加える方法や表面に
釉薬を施す手段は、これらが不純物混入の原因となるの
で適当ではない。
また、この識別印はルツボの品質（等級）が容易に識
別できる部分であってシリコン単結晶の引上げに不都合
を生じない部分に設けられる。具体的には、ルツボ上端
面から30mmまでの外表面に設けるのが良い。
識別印の形状などは限定されず、例えば、図示するよ
うに、印の個数などによって等級を表示することができ
る。
〔考案の効果〕
本考案に係る石英ルツボの等級表示が明瞭であり、従
って、製造されるシリコン単結晶の品質管理を正確に行
うことができる。
