【課題】画像形成装置の初期故障を検知することができる画像形成システムを提供する。【解決手段】画像形成システム１００は、複数の画像形成装置１１～１４と、サーバー１０とを備える。サーバー１０は、複数の画像形成装置１１～１４に通信可能に接続される。サーバー１０は、複数の画像形成装置１１～１４から共通事項の数値を表すデータを入力し、データの中央値を計算し、複数の画像形成装置１１～１４のうち中央値から最も大きく外れた数値を入力した異常装置を特定する。【選択図】図１

本発明は、画像形成システムに関する。
特許文献１に記載の画像形成システムは、印刷枚数、電源通電時間等の履歴情報に基づいて画像形成装置の故障予測を実行する。
特開平８－２３４０８号公報
特許文献１の技術では、画像形成装置の初期故障を検知することができなかった。
本発明は、画像形成装置の初期故障を検知することができる画像形成システムを提供することを目的とする。
本発明に係る画像形成システムは、複数の画像形成装置と、サーバーとを備える。前記サーバーは、前記複数の画像形成装置に通信可能に接続される。前記サーバーは、前記複数の画像形成装置から共通事項の数値を表すデータを入力し、前記データの中央値を計算し、前記複数の画像形成装置のうち前記中央値から最も大きく外れた数値を入力した異常装置を特定する。
本発明によれば、画像形成装置の初期故障を検知することができる画像形成システムが提供される。
実施形態に係る画像形成システムの構成の一例を示すブロック図である。 画像形成装置のハードウェア構成の一例を示す図である。 サーバーの動作の一例を示すフローチャートである。
以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照しながら説明する。なお、図中、同一又は相当部分については同一の参照符号を付して説明を繰り返さない。
まず、図１を参照して、実施形態に係る画像形成システム１００について説明する。図１は、画像形成システム１００の構成の一例を示すブロック図である。画像形成システム１００は、複数の画像形成装置を備える。各画像形成装置は、例えばＭＦＰ（Ｍｕｌｔｉｆｕｎｃｔｉｏｎ Ｐｅｒｉｐｈｅｒａｌ）である。ＭＦＰは、複写機、プリンター、及びファクシミリの機能を兼ね備えた複合機である。
図１に示されるように、画像形成システム１００は、サーバー１０と、第１ＭＦＰ１１と、第２ＭＦＰ１２と、第３ＭＦＰ１３と、第４ＭＦＰ１４とを備える。サーバー１０と、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４とは、ネットワーク２０を介して通信可能に接続されている。第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４は、「複数の画像形成装置」の一例に相当する。
次に、図１及び図２を参照して、第１ＭＦＰ１１のハードウェア構成について説明する。図２は、第１ＭＦＰ１１のハードウェア構成の一例を示す図である。第２ＭＦＰ１２～第４ＭＦＰ１４は第１ＭＦＰ１１と同様であるので、第２ＭＦＰ１２～第４ＭＦＰ１４の説明は省略する。
図２に示されるように、第１ＭＦＰ１１は、読取部１と、給送部２と、搬送部３と、画像形成部４と、定着部５と、排出部６とを備える。
読取部１は、原稿Ｇの画像を読み取る。読取部１は、読み取った画像から画像データを生成する。給送部２は、複数のシートＳを収容し、搬送部３へシートＳを給送する。シートＳは、例えば紙製又は合成樹脂製である。搬送部３は、複数の搬送ローラー対を含み、画像形成部４にシートＳを搬送する。
画像形成部４は、電子写真方式によってシートＳにトナー像を形成する。画像形成部４は、感光体ドラムと、帯電装置と、露光装置と、現像装置と、補給装置と、転写装置と、クリーニング装置と、除電装置とを含む。トナー像は、例えば原稿Ｇの画像を示す。定着部５は、トナー像を加熱及び加圧して、トナー像をシートＳに定着させる。搬送部３は、トナー像の定着されたシートＳを排出部６に搬送する。排出部６は、第１ＭＦＰ１１の外部にシートＳを排出する。
次に、図１～図３を参照して、サーバー１０の動作について説明する。図３は、サーバー１０の動作の一例を示すフローチャートである。
ステップＳ１０１：サーバー１０は、図３に示されるように、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４の各々から共通事項の数値を示すデータを入力する。第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４は、サーバー１０へのデータ集中を避けるように、それぞれ異なる時刻にサーバー１０へのデータ送信を実行する。
ステップＳ１０３：サーバー１０は、データの中央値を計算する。計算のタイミングは、例えば１日に１回の所定の時刻である。サーバー１０は、多数の画像形成装置を監視対象とする場合、印刷枚数、電源通電時間等の履歴情報に基づいて多数の画像形成装置をグループ分けし、各グループの中でデータの中央値を計算すればよい。
ステップＳ１０５：サーバー１０は、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４のうち中央値から最も大きく外れた数値を入力した異常ＭＦＰを特定する。
サーバー１０は、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４の各々から、例えば、各ＭＦＰのシリアルナンバーとともに数値「１０」、「２」、「２」、及び「１」を示すデータを入力する。中央値は「２」である。サーバー１０は、中央値「２」から最も大きく外れた数値「１０」を入力した第１ＭＦＰ１１を、異常ＭＦＰとして特定する。
ステップＳ１０７：サーバー１０は、特定した異常ＭＦＰに対して、自動対処を施すための要求、又はユーザーが手動対処を施すための要求を出す。サーバー１０は、自動対処を施すための要求を出すか、又はユーザーが手動対処を施すための要求を出すかの選択を予め受け付けておいてもよい。ステップＳ１０７の処理が完了すると、サーバー１０の処理が終了する。
ステップＳ１０１における共通事項の数値を示すデータは、例えば定着部５の温度を示すデータである。この場合のステップＳ１０７における対処は、例えば「再起動をする」である。他の対処は、「ドラムリフレッシュの実行」、「設定変更する」、「メッセージを出す」等である。
サーバー１０は、ステップＳ１０７において自動対処を施すための要求を所定回数出しても異常ＭＦＰの状態が改善しない場合に、サービスマン派遣通知を実行してもよい。
実施形態によれば、印刷枚数、電源通電時間等の履歴情報よりむしろ利用環境に応じて異常ＭＦＰが特定されるので、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４の初期故障を検知することができる画像形成システム１００が提供される。
以上、図面を参照しながら本発明の実施形態について説明した。ただし、本発明は、上記の実施形態に限られるものではなく、その要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の態様において実施することが可能である。また、上記の実施形態に開示されている複数の構成要素を適宜組み合わせることによって、種々の発明の形成が可能である。例えば、実施形態に示される全構成要素から幾つかの構成要素を削除してもよい。図面は、理解しやすくするために、それぞれの構成要素を主体に模式的に示しており、図示された各構成要素の個数等は、図面作成の都合から実際とは異なる場合もある。また、上記の実施形態で示す各構成要素は一例であって、特に限定されるものではなく、本発明の効果から実質的に逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更が可能である。
実施形態では、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４が電子写真方式であった。しかし、本発明はこれに限定されない。例えば、第１ＭＦＰ１１～第４ＭＦＰ１４はインクジェット方式でもよい。
本発明は、画像形成システムの分野に利用可能である。

Claims (4)

  1. 複数の画像形成装置と、
    前記複数の画像形成装置に通信可能に接続されたサーバーと
    を備え、
    前記サーバーは、
    前記複数の画像形成装置から共通事項の数値を表すデータを入力し、
    前記データの中央値を計算し、
    前記複数の画像形成装置のうち前記中央値から最も大きく外れた数値を入力した異常装置を特定する、画像形成システム。
  2. 前記サーバーは、前記異常装置に対して自動対処を施すための要求を出す、請求項１に記載の画像形成システム。
  3. 前記サーバーは、前記異常装置に対してユーザーが手動対処を施すための要求を出す、請求項１に記載の画像形成システム。
  4. 前記サーバーは、前記異常装置に対して自動対処を施すための要求を出すか、又はユーザーが手動対処を施すための要求を出すかの選択を受け付ける、請求項１に記載の画像形成システム。
