Abstract
Description
a.放射線硬化性樹脂材料を含む乾式トナー粒子を調製するステップであって、上記放射線硬化性樹脂材料は、好ましくは調製された粒子の樹脂材料の総量の少なくとも90重量%、より好ましくは少なくとも95重量%を構成する、ステップと、
b.上記トナー粒子を流体流中で、分散させ及び加熱するステップと、
c.上記流体流中で上記トナー粒子の外殻を硬化させるステップと、
d.上記トナー粒子を冷却して、コアシェルトナー粒子を得るステップと
を含む。
a.放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料を含む粒子を含むエマルジョンを調製するステップであって、上記放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料は、調製された粒子の樹脂材料の総量の少なくとも90重量%、好ましくは少なくとも95重量%を構成する、ステップと
b.上記粒子を凝集させて、凝集粒子を形成するステップと、
c.上記凝集粒子を第2の樹脂材料と接触させて、上記凝集粒子上に外殻を形成するステップであって、上記第2の樹脂材料は、上記第1の樹脂材料と異なる、ステップと、
d.凝集粒子を外殻と合体させて、コアシェルトナー粒子を形成するステップと
を含む。
図1Aは、放射線硬化性乾式トナーを調製するための方法の代表的な実施形態を図示する。方法は、以下のステップを含む。
Claims (25)
- コアシェルトナー粒子を含む放射線硬化性乾式トナーであって、コアシェルトナー粒子は5~10マイクロメーターの間の体積基準平均径を有し、そのコアシェルトナー粒子は、
a.内側部分であって、内側部分の樹脂材料の総量の少なくとも90重量%、好ましくは少なくとも95重量%を構成する放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料を含む、内側部分と、
b.前記内側部分を取り囲む外殻であって、前記外殻は、第2の樹脂材料を含み、前記第2の樹脂材料は、以下の:
硬化した第1の樹脂材料、又は
第1の樹脂材料とは異なる樹脂材料
のうちのいずれか1つである、放射線硬化性乾式トナー。 - 前記乾式トナーが、1Hzの周波数及び0.005ラジアンの振幅で測定して、120℃において、1000Pa.s未満、より好ましくは850Pa.s未満、最も好ましくは700Pa.s未満の溶融粘度を有するように前記内側部分及び前記外殻の樹脂材料が選択された、請求項1に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記乾式トナーが、100g/kg以下、好ましくは50g/kg以下の保存安定性を有し、保存安定性は、50mlボトル中の20gの乾式トナーを振とうし、続いて乾式トナーを40℃において40時間適応させたらすぐ、乾式トナーを手動で300μmの篩にかけ、篩上に残ったトナーの量を重量測定し、20gの元の量に対してg/kgトナーとして表すことにより決定される、請求項1又は2に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記第1の樹脂材料が第1のガラス転移温度を有し、前記第2の樹脂材料が第2のガラス転移温度を有し、第2のガラス転移温度と第1のガラス転移温度との間の差が、25℃よりも小さく、好ましくは23℃よりも小さく、より好ましくは20℃よりも小さく、かつ、5℃よりも大きい、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記第1のガラス転移温度が、20~60℃の間、好ましくは25~50℃の間、より好ましくは30~50℃の間である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記外殻が、500ナノメーター未満、好ましくは20~400ナノメーターの間、より好ましくは40~350ナノメーターの間、最も好ましくは50~300ナノメーターの間の平均厚さを有する、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料が、0.5meq/g超、より好ましくは0.7meq/g超である、前記放射線硬化性樹脂材料1グラムあたりの二重結合のミリ当量を有する、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料が、光開始剤を含む、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記第2の樹脂材料が、放射線非硬化性樹脂材料、好ましくはポリエステル樹脂である、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- 前記放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料が、以下の放射線硬化性樹脂:(メタ)アクリロイル含有ポリエステル、ポリエステルウレタンアクリレートポリマー、マレイン酸又はフマル酸が取り込まれた不飽和ポリエステル樹脂とビニルエーテルを含有するポリウレタンとの混合物のうちの1つ又は複数からなる、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナー。
- コアシェルトナー粒子を含む放射線硬化性乾式トナーを調製するための方法であって、前記方法は、
a.放射線硬化性樹脂材料を含む乾式トナー粒子を調製するステップであって、前記放射線硬化性樹脂材料は、調製された粒子の樹脂材料の総量の少なくとも90重量%、好ましくは少なくとも95重量%を構成する、ステップと、
b.前記トナー粒子を流体流中で、分散させ及び加熱するステップと、
c.前記流体流中で前記トナー粒子の外殻を硬化させるステップと、
d.前記トナー粒子を冷却して、コアシェルトナー粒子を得るステップと
を含み、
乾式トナー粒子は、得られたコアシェルトナー粒子が、5~10マイクロメーターの間の体積基準平均径を有するような寸法で調製される、方法。 - ステップ(a)において乾式トナー粒子を調製することが、トナー粒子の少なくとも外殻中に熱開始剤を含めることを含み、前記硬化が、外殻中の熱開始剤が分解して外殻の硬化を引き起こすように、流体流中に分散されたトナー粒子を加熱することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- ステップ(a)において乾式トナー粒子を調製することが、トナー粒子の少なくとも外殻中に光開始剤を含めることを含み、前記硬化が、外殻中の光開始剤が分解して外殻の硬化を引き起こすように、流体流中に分散されたトナー粒子を加熱し及び化学線を照射することを含む、請求項11又は12に記載の方法。
- ステップ(a)において乾式トナー粒子を調製することが、
a.着色剤及び放射線硬化性化合物を含む成分を溶融混錬して、混合物を得ることと、
b.前記混合物を冷却することと、
c.前記冷却された混合物を粉砕して、乾式トナー粒子を得ることと
を含む、請求項11~13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記放射線硬化性樹脂材料が、20~60℃の間、好ましくは25~50℃の間、より好ましくは30~50℃の間のガラス転移温度を有する、請求項11~14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化が、外殻が500ナノメーター未満、好ましくは20~400ナノメーターの間、より好ましくは40~350ナノメーターの間、最も好ましくは50~300ナノメーターの間の平均厚さを有するように制御される、請求項11~15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記放射線硬化性材料が、光開始剤を含むUV硬化性材料である、請求項11~16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- コアシェルトナー粒子を含む放射線硬化性乾式トナーを調製するための方法であって、前記方法は、
a.放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料を含む粒子を含むエマルジョンを調製するステップであって、前記放射線硬化性の第1の樹脂材料は、調製された粒子の樹脂材料の総量の少なくとも90重量%、好ましくは少なくとも95重量%を構成する、ステップと、
b.前記粒子を凝集させて、凝集粒子を形成するステップと、
c.前記凝集粒子を第2の樹脂材料と接触させて、前記凝集粒子上に外殻を形成するステップであって、前記第2の樹脂材料は、前記第1の樹脂材料と異なる、ステップと、
d.凝集粒子を外殻と合体させて、コアシェルトナー粒子を形成するステップと
を含み、
前記ステップは、形成されたコアシェルトナー粒子が5~10マイクロメーターの間の体積基準平均径を有するように、実行される、方法。 - 前記第1の樹脂材料が、1Hzの周波数及び0.005ラジアンの振幅で測定して、120℃において1000Pa.s未満、より好ましくは850Pa.s未満、最も好ましくは700Pa.s未満の溶融粘度を有する、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記第1及び第2の樹脂材料が、前記乾式トナーが100g/kg以下、好ましくは50g/kg以下の保存安定性を有するように選択され、保存安定性が、50mlのボトル中で20gの乾式トナーを振とうし、続いて乾式トナーを40℃において40時間適応させたらすぐ、乾式トナーを手動により300μmの篩にかけ、篩上に残ったトナーの量を重量測定され、20gの元の量に対してg/kgトナーとして表す、請求項18又は19に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の樹脂材料が第1のガラス転移温度を有し、前記第2の樹脂材料が第2のガラス転移温度を有し、第1及び第2の樹脂材料が、第2のガラス転移温度と第1のガラス転移温度との間の差が、25℃よりも小さく、好ましくは23℃よりも小さく、より好ましくは20℃よりも小さいように選択される、請求項18~20のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ステップ(c)が、外殻が500ナノメーター未満、好ましくは20~400ナノメーターの間、より好ましくは40~350ナノメーターの間、最も好ましくは50~300ナノメーターの間の平均厚さを有するように制御される、請求項18~21のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- キャリア粒子、及び請求項11~22のいずれか一項に記載の方法により調製された放射線硬化性乾式トナー又は請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の放射線硬化性乾式トナーを含む、乾式静電現像剤。
- 請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の乾式トナーの乾式コアシェルトナー粒子又は請求項11~22のいずれか一項に記載の方法により製造された乾式トナーを熱定着させ、硬化させる方法であって、前記コアシェルトナー粒子を、基材上に画像通りに堆積させ、基材上に熱定着させて、熱定着したコアシェルトナー粒子を硬化させる、方法。
- 前記コアシェルトナー粒子が、1つ又は複数の光開始剤を含み、前記熱定着したコアシェルトナー粒子をUV放射により硬化させる、請求項24に記載の方法。
