Abstract
Description
図1は本発明の実施形態における電気加熱式担体1を示す正面図であり、図2は図1の線II-IIにおける電気加熱式担体1の断面図である。図1及び図2に示すように、本実施の形態の電気加熱式担体1は、ハニカム構造体2及び一対の電極端子3を有している。

Claims (14)
- 外周壁と、前記外周壁の内側に配設され、一方の端面から他方の端面まで貫通して流路を形成する複数のセルを区画形成する隔壁と、を有する柱状のハニカム構造体と、
前記外周壁の表面に設けられている一対の電極端子と、
を備える、電気加熱式担体であって、
前記セルの延伸方向に対して垂直な断面において、前記ハニカム構造体が、
互いに離間して配置され、前記外周壁との間及び互いの間に通電経路を規定するように構成された複数本の第1スリットと、
前記通電経路内に位置し、前記第1スリットとは異なる方向に延在する少なくとも1本の第2スリットと、
を有し、
一方の前記電極端子から他方の前記電極端子までの通電経路の長さが、前記ハニカム構造体の径より長い、電気加熱式担体。 - 前記第2スリットは、前記断面において前記第1スリットと交わっている、
請求項1に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記第1スリットのそれぞれは、前記断面において、直線状に第1方向に延在し、かつ、前記第1方向に直交する第2方向に互いに離間して配置されており、
前記第2方向に隣り合う一対の前記第1スリットは、前記第2方向から見たときに互いに一部重なるように配置されている、
請求項1又は請求項2に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記通電経路は、前記第2方向に隣り合う前記一対の第1スリットに挟まれているとともに、前記一対の第1スリットの一方の端部から他方の端部まで前記第1方向に延在された複数の部分経路を含み、
前記第2スリットは、前記部分経路内に設けられている、
請求項3に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記第2方向に係る前記第2スリットの延在幅は、該第2スリットが設けられた前記部分経路を挟む前記一対の第1スリットの前記第2方向に係る離間距離の10%以上かつ90%以下である、
請求項4に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記部分経路内での前記第1方向に係る前記第2スリットの位置は、前記第1方向に係る前記部分経路の中心位置から前記第1方向に係る前記部分経路の延在幅の30%以内の位置である、
請求項4又は請求項5に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 1つの前記部分経路内に複数の前記第2スリットが、前記第1方向に互いに離間して設けられており、
前記1つの部分経路内の前記複数の第2スリット間の離間距離は、前記1つの部分経路を挟む前記一対の第1スリットの前記第2方向に係る離間距離の1.25倍以上である、
請求項4から請求項6までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記通電経路内で少なくとも2つの前記部分経路が互いに直列に配置されている、
請求項4から請求項7までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記断面において、前記一対の電極端子が、前記ハニカム構造体の中心軸を挟んで前記第2方向に対向するように配置されている、
請求項1から請求項8までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記第1及び第2スリットの少なくとも一方に充填剤が充填されている、
請求項1から請求項9までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 前記第1スリットの少なくとも一部は前記外周壁から延在されている、
請求項1から請求項10までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体。 - 請求項1から請求項11までのいずれか1項に記載の電気加熱式担体と、
前記電気加熱式担体を収容する金属ケースと
を備える、排気ガス浄化装置。 - 外周壁と、前記外周壁の内側に配設され、一方の端面から他方の端面まで貫通して流路を形成する複数のセルを区画形成する隔壁と、を有する柱状のハニカム構造体と、
前記外周壁の表面に設けられている一対の電極端子と、
を備え、
前記セルの延伸方向に対して垂直な断面において、前記ハニカム構造体が、互いに離間して配置され、前記外周壁との間及び互いの間に通電経路を規定するように構成された複数本の第1スリットを有する電気加熱式担体の製造方法であって、
前記第1スリットを有する加工前の電気加熱式担体を準備する工程と、
前記一対の電極端子に通電し、前記通電経路の電気抵抗を測定する工程と、
前記電気抵抗の測定値を前記電気抵抗の目標値と比較して、前記測定値と前記目標値との差に基づいて、前記断面において前記通電経路内に位置する少なくとも1本の第2スリットを前記加工前の電気加熱式担体に設ける工程と
を含む、電気加熱式担体の製造方法。 - 前記少なくとも1本の第2スリットが、前記第1スリットとは異なる方向に延在する、
請求項13に記載の電気加熱式担体の製造方法。
