Description
本発明のPTC抵抗体は、酸含有エラストマーを、アミド基を有する架橋基で架橋した樹脂と、導電性粒子と、を含む。当該PTC抵抗体は、本発明の目的および効果を損なわない範囲で、上記樹脂および導電性粒子以外の成分を含んでいてもよい。
PTC抵抗体が含む樹脂は、酸含有エラストマーを、アミド結合を含む架橋基で架橋させた樹脂である。本明細書におけるアミド結合には、二級、三級(イミド結合等を含む)の各種アミド結合を含む。架橋基は、異なる酸含有エラストマーを架橋する基であってもよく、1つの酸含有エラストマー中の複数個所を架橋する基であってもよい。
導電性粒子は、導電性を有する粒子であれば特に制限されない。導電性粒子の例には、黒鉛、カーボンブラック、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン等の炭素系粒子;ニッケル粉末、銅粉、銀粉などの金属系粒子;等が含まれる。これらの中でも、上述の酸含有エラストマー等との親和性が高く、組成物内で沈殿し難い、との観点で炭素系粒子が好ましい。
本発明のPTC抵抗体は、例えば上記酸含有エラストマーと、上記イソシアネート化合物等と、上記導電性粒子と、必要に応じて溶媒を含む組成物を塗布し、これを加熱し、硬化させることで製造できる。硬化の際、酸含有エラストマー中のカルボキシル基が、イソシアネート化合物等と反応して、アミド結合を含む架橋基が形成される。なお、上述のように、酸含有エラストマーの架橋には、イソシアネート化合物以外の化合物を使用してもよい。この場合も、当該化合物が有する基と、酸含有エラストマーが有するカルボキシル基あるいは酸無水物等が反応して、架橋基が形成される。
上記抵抗値変化倍率が3以下であると、120℃程度まで昇温させても、不具合等が生じ難く、安定して使用可能となる。また、このような抵抗値変化倍率を有する面状発熱体では、繰り返し使用しても、抵抗値の変化が小さいため、各種用途に適用できる。上記抵抗値変化倍率は、より好ましくは2.0以下であり、さらに好ましくは1.8以下である。
ブタジエン100質量部にアクリル酸10質量部を配合し、ラジカル重合にて酸含有エラストマーを合成した。当該酸含有エラストマー50重量部と、ブチルカルビトールアセテートを175質量部とを混合し、酸含有エラストマーを溶解させた。得られた溶解液に、イソシアネート化合物(旭化成製、デュラネートMF−K60X)を5質量部添加し、常温で撹拌機にて1時間混合した。さらに導電粒子である黒鉛を50質量部添加し、撹拌機にて3時間混合し、目的のスクリーン印刷用インキを得た。図1と同様の一対の電極21、22を備えた基板を準備し、当該基板上に、得られたペーストをスクリーン印刷した。印刷パターンは、図1に示すPTC抵抗体3のパターンと同様とした。そして、150℃に加熱し、所望のPTC抵抗体を有する面状発熱体を作製した。硬化後の膜(PTC抵抗体)中の樹脂の構造をFT−IRで確認したところ、酸含有エラストマー間に、アミド結合を含む架橋基が確認された。
イソシアネート化合物の量を10質量部とした以外は、実施例1と同様に、PTC抵抗体を有する面状発熱体を作製した。硬化後の膜(PTC抵抗体)中の樹脂の構造をFT−IRで確認したところ、酸含有エラストマー間に、アミド結合を含む架橋基が確認された。
イソシアネート化合物を添加しなかった以外は、実施例1と同様にPTC抵抗体を有する面状発熱体を作製した。硬化後の膜(PTC抵抗体)中の樹脂をFT-IRで確認したところ、酸含有エラストマー間に、アミド結合を含む架橋基を有さないことが確認された。
実施例および比較例で作製した面状発熱体について25℃で抵抗値を測定した。その後、面状発熱体を、80℃、100℃、または120℃にて1000時間放置し、さらに24時間室温(25℃)で放置した。そして、当該面状発熱体の抵抗値を25℃で測定した。得られた結果を表1に示す。

- 酸含有エラストマーを、アミド結合を含む架橋基で架橋させた樹脂と、
導電性粒子と、
を含む、PTC抵抗体。 - 前記酸含有エラストマーは、エラストマー由来の構造と、カルボン酸系化合物および/または酸無水物系化合物由来の構造と、を含む化合物であり、
前記酸含有エラストマーにおける、前記カルボン酸系化合物および前記酸無水物系化合物由来の構造の総量が、前記エラストマー由来の構造の総量100質量部に対して、0.5〜30質量部である、
請求項1に記載のPTC抵抗体。 - 基板と、
前記基板上に配置された一対の電極と、
前記基板上、かつ前記一対の電極間に配置された、請求項1または2に記載のPTC抵抗体と、
を有する面状発熱体であって、
前記面状発熱体の25℃における抵抗値(放置試験前の抵抗値)と、前記面状発熱体を120℃にて1000時間放置し、さらに24時間25℃で放置した後の25℃における抵抗値(放置試験後の抵抗値)と、を測定したとき、下記式で表される抵抗値変化倍率が3以下である、面状発熱体。
抵抗値変化倍率=放置試験後の抵抗値/放置試験前の抵抗値
