Abstract
Description
超微粒超硬合金全体に対して80.0〜99.4wt%のWC相が含まれている。WC相が80.0wt%未満になると相対的に結合相の割合が増え,WC相の粒成長(WC相の粒成長については後述する)の制御が困難になることがある(焼結後のWC平均粒径が1.0μmを超える可能性が生じる)。80.0wt%以上のWC相を含ませることによって,WC相の粒成長が効果的に抑制され,焼結後のWC平均粒径を1.0μm以下とする(いわゆる超微粒とする)ことができる。また,WC相が99.4wt%を超えると,相対的に結合相の割合が減ることになり,超微粒超硬合金の抗折力が低下する。WC相を99.4wt%以下とすることによって超微粒超硬合金の抗折力を確保することができる。超微粒超硬合金全体に対するWC相の割合はWC原料粉末の配合量によって調整することができる。
炭窒素化物相(Ti(C,N)相)は,上述したWC相の粒成長を抑制し,WC相を超微粒に維持するために用いられる。WC相の粒成長とは,焼結時に結合相に溶解したWC相が他のWC相に析出することによって直径の大きな粒子に成長する現象である。Ti(C,N)相を添加することによってWC相の周囲にTi(C,N)が点在し,これによってWC相の析出が減少することでWC相の粒成長が抑制される。Ti(C,N)相は,WC相の粒成長を効果的に抑制するのに適する量,すなわち超微粒超硬合金中全体に対して0.10wt%以上であって,かつTi(C,N)の凝集が生じないまたは生じにくい量,すなわち10.0wt%以下に調整される。超微粒超硬合金全体に対するTi(C,N)相の割合も,以下に説明する原料粉末(酸化チタン(TiO2))の配合量によって調整することができる。
結合相は,硬くかつ超微粒のWC粒子同士を結合するために用いられる。
炭化クロムは,WC相の粒成長抑制および炭窒化物相の成長抑制のために用いられる。また炭化クロムは,結合相の硬度および耐酸化性の向上にも寄与することが知られている。結合相全体に対して0.10wt%以上20.0wt%以下の含有量とすることで,炭化クロムを結合相に十分に溶解させることができる。
最終製品としての超微粒超硬合金は炭素および窒素を含む。すなわちこの発明の実施例による超微粒超硬合金は,炭化タングステン(WC)および炭化クロム(Cr3C2)を含むことから必然的に炭素(C)を含有する。また,この発明の実施例による超微粒超硬合金はWC相の効果的な粒成長抑制のためにTi(C,N)を含有するものであり,Ti(C,N)は上述のように窒素雰囲気下でTiO2を炭窒化させることで得られるので,最終製品としての超微粒超硬合金は窒素(N)も含有する。
Claims (9)
- 炭化タングステン(WC)を主成分とする硬質相を80.0wt%以上99.4wt%以下含み,
チタン(Ti)酸化物を焼結中に炭窒化させたチタン炭窒化物(Ti(C,N))を主成分とする炭窒化物相を0.10wt%以上10.0wt%以下含み,
コバルト(Co),ニッケル(Ni)および鉄(Fe)の中から選択される少なくとも1種類を主成分とする結合相を0.50wt%以上20.0wt%以下含み,
硬質相と炭窒化物相と結合相の合計が100wt%であり,
焼結後の炭化タングステンの平均粒径が1.0μm以下であり,
炭化クロム(Cr3C2)を上記結合相全体に対して0.10wt%以上20.0wt%以下含み,
窒素含有量が0.10wt%以上1.25wt%以下であり,炭素含有量が4.80wt%以上6.30wt%以下である,
超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記窒素含有量が0.10wt%以上0.25wt%以下である,
請求項1に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記炭素含有量が5.30wt%以上5.43wt%以下である,
請求項1または2に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記炭窒化物相を0.5wt%以上2.0wt%以下含む,
請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記炭窒化物相を1.30wt%含む,
請求項4に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記炭化タングステンの平均粒径が0.80μm以下である,
請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 上記結合相を10.0wt%以下含む,
請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の超微粒超硬合金。 - 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の超微粒超硬合金から構成される,切断用または切削用工具。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の超微粒超硬合金から構成される,耐摩耗用工具。
