Abstract
Description
以下、適宜図面を参照しながら、ここに開示される技術のいくつかの好適な実施形態を説明する。なお、ここで説明される実施形態は、当然ながらここに開示される技術を限定することを意図したものではない。本明細書において特に言及している事項以外の事柄であってここに開示される技術の実施に必要な事柄(例えば、ここに開示される技術を特徴付けない非水電解質二次電池および組電池の一般的な構成および製造プロセス)は、当該分野における従来技術に基づく当業者の設計事項として把握され得る。ここに開示される技術は、本明細書に開示されている内容と当該分野における技術常識とに基づいて実施することができる。
図1は、第1実施形態に係る非水電解質二次電池10の内部構造を示す縦断面図である。図2は、非水電解質二次電池10の上面図である。非水電解質二次電池10は、例えば、リチウムイオン二次電池、ニッケル水素電池、電気二重層キャパシタ等の、繰り返し充放電が可能な二次電池である。非水電解質二次電池10は、電極体20と、図示しない非水電解質と、電池ケース30と、を備えている。
図4は、組電池1の斜視図である。組電池1は、複数の非水電解質二次電池(単電池)10と、複数のスペーサ40と、一対のエンドプレート50A、50Bと、複数の拘束バンド52と、を備えている。ただし、スペーサ40、エンドプレート50A、50B、および拘束バンド52は必須ではなく、一部または全部を省略することもできる。また、組電池1を構成する単電池10の形状、サイズ、個数、配置、接続方法等は、ここに開示される態様に限定されることなく、適宜変更することができる。
市場から回収された組電池には、再利用可能な状態の単電池(非水電解質二次電池10)が含まれていることが多い。以下では、市場から回収された非水電解質二次電池10を再利用(リユース)して、組電池1を製造する方法を説明する。この製造方法は、例えば、次の4つの工程:再利用可能な非水電解質二次電池10を選別する選別工程;選別工程で選別した非水電解質二次電池10のガス抜き部34nを開放して、内部のガスを抜くガス抜き工程;ガス抜き工程で開放したガス抜き部34nを閉鎖して、非水電解質二次電池10を再封止する再封止工程;再封止した非水電解質二次電池10を用いて組電池1を構築する組電池構築工程;を包含する。このうち、ガス抜き工程および再封止工程は、非水電解質二次電池10の再利用方法としても把握されうる。また、ここに開示される製造方法は、上記以外に他の工程を適宜含んでもよい。例えば、選別工程の後から組電池構築工程の前までの間には、例えば非水電解質二次電池10に非水電解質を追加する補充工程を含んでもよい。
図6は、第2実施形態に係る非水電解質二次電池110の上面図である。なお、図6において、第1実施形態と同じ部材には同じ符号を付している。非水電解質二次電池110は、蓋体34にかえて蓋体134を備えている。非水電解質二次電池110は、ガス抜き機構が、蓋本体にかえて注液栓に設けられていること以外、上記した第1実施形態と同様である。このため、第1実施形態と共通する部分については、説明を省略または簡略化する。
