基準階調電圧生成回路32は、設定電圧VG1〜VG3に基づき、互いに電圧値が異なる256階調分の正極性の基準階調電圧Y1〜Y256を生成し、夫々をDA変換回路34に供給する。
基準階調電圧生成回路33は、設定電圧VG3〜VG5に基づき、互いに電圧値が異なる256階調分の負極性の基準階調電圧X1〜X256を生成し、夫々をDA変換回路35に供給する。
駆動制御部11A、走査ドライバ12A及びデータドライバ13Aと、表示デバイス20Aとを含む。
データ走査期間Tvの周期にて、電圧Vpを有する走査パルスDSPを、表示デバイス20AのデータラインD1〜Dnの各々に順次択一的に供給する。

Claims (5)
- 複数の表示セルを有する表示デバイスに、前記表示セル毎の輝度レベルに対応した階調電圧を供給する表示ドライバであって、
前記表示セル毎の前記輝度レベルを表す表示データ片の系列が水平走査期間毎に区分けして配列されている画像データ信号から垂直走査期間毎に正極用の複数のガンマ補正データ片を抽出する第1のガンマ補正データ抽出部と、
前記画像データ信号から垂直走査期間毎に負極用の複数のガンマ補正データ片を抽出する第2のガンマ補正データ抽出部と、
前記第1のガンマ補正データ抽出部から送出された正極用の前記複数のガンマ補正データ片にて表されるガンマ補正値に基づいて、前記輝度レベルを前記階調電圧に変換する第1の階調電圧変換部と、
前記第2のガンマ補正データ抽出部から送出された負極用の前記複数のガンマ補正データ片にて表されるガンマ補正値に基づいて、前記輝度レベルを前記階調電圧に変換する第2の階調電圧変換部と、を有することを特徴とする表示ドライバ。 - 正極用及び負極用の前記複数のガンマ補正データ片の各々は、赤色成分に対するガンマ補正値を表す第1のガンマ補正データ片と、緑色成分に対するガンマ補正値を表す第2のガンマ補正データ片と、青色成分に対するガンマ補正値を表す第3のガンマ補正データ片と、からなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示ドライバ。
- 前記第1のガンマ補正データ抽出部及び前記第1の階調電圧変換部の間に設けられ、前記第1のガンマ補正データ抽出部で抽出された正極用の前記複数のガンマ補正データ片を夫々個別に保持する複数の第1のガンマレジスタと、
前記第2のガンマ補正データ抽出部及び前記第2の階調電圧変換部の間に設けられ、前記第2のガンマ補正データ抽出部で抽出された負極用の前記複数のガンマ補正データ片を夫々個別に保持する複数の第2のガンマレジスタと、を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の表示ドライバ。 - 前記複数の第1のガンマレジスタの各々に保持されているガンマ補正データ片を前記水平走査期間毎に1つずつ順に選択し、選択した前記ガンマ補正データ片を前記第1の階調電圧変換部に送出する第1のセレクタと、
前記複数の第2のガンマレジスタの各々に保持されているガンマ補正データ片を前記水平走査期間毎に1つずつ順に選択し、選択した前記ガンマ補正データ片を前記第2の階調電圧変換部に送出する第2のセレクタと、を更に有することを特徴とする請求項3記載の表示ドライバ。 - 請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の表示ドライバと、
夫々が画面の水平方向に伸張する第1〜第m(mは2以上の整数)の水平表示ラインと、
夫々が画面の垂直方向に伸張しており前記第1〜第mの水平表示ラインと交叉する第1〜第n(nは2以上の整数)のデータラインと、を有し、
前記表示セルは、前記第1〜第mの水平表示ラインと前記第1〜第nのデータラインとの各交叉部に形成され、
前記表示ドライバは、
前記第1〜第nのデータラインの各々に順次、択一的に走査パルスを供給する走査ドライバと、
前記階調電圧変換部を含み、前記第1〜第nのデータラインの各々に形成されているm個の前記表示セルに夫々対応した第1〜第mの前記階調電圧を前記走査パルスに同期したタイミングで前記第1〜第mの水平表示ラインに供給するデータドライバと、を含むことを特徴とする表示デバイス。
