Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の実施形態1に係る液体噴射装置の一例であるインクジェット式記録装置の概略構成を示す図である。
図11は、本発明の実施形態2に係る制御装置による駆動信号を示す駆動波形である。なお、上述した実施形態と同様の部材には同一の符号を付して重複する説明は省略する。
ここで、上述した比較例と実施形態1と実施形態2との予備吐出をそれぞれ行い、ノズルプレート20へのミストの付着状態を測定した。具体的には、上述した記録ヘッド1において、第1のノズル列21Aと第2のノズル列21Bとの間の距離を1/10インチ、第1のノズル列21A及び第2のノズル列21Bのノズル21のピッチを1/360インチ、吐出周期を14.4kHz(69.4μ秒)、1つの吐出パルスで吐出されるインク滴の重量は7ngとした。このときの図10の表に示す吐出パターン及び吐出周期でキャップ9a内にインク滴の吐出を行った。すなわち、実施形態1の第1の予備吐出モードでは、各ノズル列における単位時間当たりの吐出頻度は14.4回/m秒であり、各ノズル列における1間欠周期当たりの吐出回数は1回である。また、実施形態2の第1の予備吐出モードでは、各ノズル列における単位時間当たりの吐出頻度は21.6回/m秒であり、各ノズル列における1間欠周期当たりの吐出回数は3回である。これらに対し比較例として、各ノズル列について43.2回/m秒の吐出頻度で非吐出期間を挟むことなく(非間欠で)60万回(60万ショット)の予備吐出を実施した。比較例、実施形態1及び実施形態2のそれぞれで予備吐出を行った後のノズルプレート20を撮影した結果を図12に示す。
以上、本発明の各実施形態について説明したが、本発明の基本的な構成は上述したものに限定されるものではない。
Claims (7)
- 液体を吐出するノズルが並設されたノズル列を複数列有する液体噴射ヘッドと、
前記ノズルに連通する流路内の圧力変化を生じさせて当該ノズルから液体を吐出させる圧力発生手段と、
複数列の前記ノズル列を覆うキャップと、
前記圧力発生手段の駆動を制御して前記ノズルから液体を噴射させる制御部と、
を具備し、
前記制御部は、複数の前記ノズル列から前記キャップに向かって液体を吐出させる予備吐出を行わせると共に、
前記制御部は、複数列の前記ノズル列を構成する第1のノズル列と第2のノズル列との予備吐出において、前記第1のノズル列及び前記第2のノズル列のそれぞれの前記ノズルから同時吐出及び同時非吐出を間欠的に実施し、前記第1のノズル列の前記ノズルから同時吐出する際には、前記第2のノズル列の前記ノズルは同時非吐出とし、前記第2のノズル列の前記ノズルから同時吐出する際には、前記第1のノズル列の前記ノズルからは同時非吐出とする第1の予備吐出モードを実行可能に制御することを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 前記ノズル列における単位時間当たりの吐出頻度は、22回/m秒以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液体噴射装置。
- 前記ノズル列における1間欠周期当たりの吐出回数は3回以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の液体噴射装置。
- 前記ノズル列の各ノズルには、圧力発生室が連通して設けられており、
前記ノズル列に連通する複数の前記圧力発生室は、共通液室に共通して連通しており、
前記第1のノズル列に対応する前記共通液室と、前記第2のノズル列に対応する前記共通液室とは、異なることを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置。 - 前記液体噴射ヘッドは、
前記ノズル列の前記ノズルに連通する圧力発生室と、
前記圧力発生室を区画する隔壁と、
前記隔壁間を跨ぐ可動壁であって前記圧力発生室内の液体に圧力変化を生じさせる可動壁と、
を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置。 - 前記制御部は、
前記第1の予備吐出モードにおける第1の吐出回数よりも少ない第2の吐出回数で予備吐出を行わせる第2の予備吐出モードをさらに実行可能に制御し、前記第2の予備吐出モードでは、前記第1のノズル列と前記第2のノズル列との同時吐出によりそれぞれ第2の吐出回数の吐出を行う、又は前記第1のノズル列で第2の吐出回数の吐出を終えた後に前記第2のノズル列で第2の吐出回数の吐出を行うことを特徴とする請求項1〜5の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置。 - 前記ノズル列における前記第2の予備吐出モードにおける単位時間当たりの吐出頻度は、前記ノズル列における前記第1の予備吐出モードにおける単位時間当たりの吐出頻度よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項6記載の液体噴射装置。
