さくすることができると考えられる。円偏光板の寸法収縮速度は、0.5×10−4mm/hr.以上であってもよいし、1.0×10−4mm/hr.以上であってもよい。円偏光板の寸法収縮速度をこのような範囲とすることにより、表示素子側の粘着剤がずれることに起因する外観不良も抑制することができる。
ることによる偏光板の伸びが抑制される。さらに、水分の侵入が事前に防がれているので、高湿度環境から相対的に乾燥した室温環境下へ移行したときに、偏光子が水分を吐き出すときに起こる偏光板の収縮も付随して抑制されると考えられる。このように、偏光板自体の伸縮・収縮が引き起こす位相差フィルムへの応力伝搬による位相差フィルムの位相差値変化を防ぐことができ、結果、反射色相の変化を抑制することができる。
波長550nmにおける面内位相差値が200〜280nmである層のことを意味し、より好ましくは面内位相差値が215〜265nmである層のことを意味する。λ/4の位相差を与える層としては、好ましくは波長550nmにおける面内位相差値が100〜160nmである層のことを意味し、より好ましくは面内位相差値が110〜150nmである層のことを意味する。ポジティブC層は、屈折率がnx≒ny<nzの関係性を示す層であることができる。ポジティブC層の厚み方向の位相差値は、波長550nmにおいて−50nm〜−150nmであることができ、−70nm〜−120nmであることができる。位相差層は、正波長分散性を示してもよいし、逆波長分散性を示してもよい。
剤層の厚みは、通常3〜30μmであり、好ましくは3〜25μmである。
ロペンタノン(溶媒)95部とを混合し、得られた混合物を80℃で1時間攪拌することにより、配向膜形成用組成物Aを得た。
円偏光板の寸法収縮速度は、以下のようにして測定した。円偏光板を位相差フィルムの遅相軸方向に50mm、位相差フィルムの進相軸方向に50mmの大きさに切りだした。
切り出された円偏光板を厚み0.4mmの無アルカリガラス(コーニング社製、製品名:イーグルXG)に貼合し、高温高湿環境(温度60℃、相対湿度95%)のオーブンに168hr載置した。オーブンから室温環境下(温度23℃、相対湿度55%)に取り出した直後に円偏光板の寸法を測定した。その後、室温環境下に24hr保管した後に再度円偏光板の寸法を測定し、その寸法変化の傾きから円偏光板の遅相軸方向の寸法収縮速度を計算した。
Claims (9)
- 偏光板と位相差フィルムとが積層された円偏光板であって、前記偏光板は、偏光子および保護フィルムを備え、前記保護フィルムは、前記偏光子における前記位相差フィルム側とは反対側に配置され、前記保護フィルムの透湿度は、450g/m2・24時間以下であり、該円偏光板の寸法収縮速度が4.1×10−4mm/時間以下である円偏光板。
- 主面の形状が実質的に矩形であり、前記位相差フィルムの遅相軸が円偏光板の長辺方向に平行であり、前記位相差フィルムの遅相軸と前記偏光子の吸収軸とのなす角の大きさが略45°である請求項1に記載の円偏光板。
- 前記位相差フィルムは、重合性液晶化合物が硬化した層を含み、前記位相差フィルムにおける前記偏光板側とは反対側に粘着剤層が配置されている請求項1または2に記載の円偏光板。
- 表示パネルを更に備える請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の円偏光板。
- 屈曲可能である請求項4に記載の円偏光板。
- タッチセンサとウィンドウフィルムとを更に備え、 表示パネル、前記タッチセンサ、偏光子および前記ウィンドウフィルムがこの順に積層された 請求項4または5に記載の円偏光板。
- タッチセンサを更に備え、表示パネル、偏光子および前記タッチセンサがこの順に積層された 請求項4または5に記載の円偏光板。
- ウィンドウフィルムを更に備え、 表示パネル、偏光子、タッチセンサおよびウィンドウフィルムがこの順に積層された 請求項7に記載の円偏光板。
- 請求項1〜8の何れか1項に記載の円偏光板が、粘着剤層を介して表示素子に積層された表示装置。
