Description
Re=(nx−ny) × d
(前記数式Aにおいて、nx及びnyは、波長550nmでそれぞれ該当の保護層又は基材層の遅相軸方向及び進相軸方向の屈折率であり、dは、該当の保護層又は基材層の厚さ(単位:nm)である。)
偏光フィルム100の光出射面には、第1基材層200、パターン層300及び第2基材層400が順次形成されている。偏光フィルム100は、液晶パネル(図1には図示せず)から入射された光を偏光させて出射させることができる。偏光フィルム100から出射された偏光は、第1基材層200、パターン層300及び第2基材層400の順に透過され得る。
第1基材層200は、パターン層300の光入射面に形成され、パターン層300を支持することができる。第1基材層200は、パターン層300のうち第1層310に直接形成され、偏光板10を薄型化させることができる。前記「直接形成」とは、第1基材層200とパターン層300との間に任意の粘着層、接着層又は粘接着層が介在しないことを意味する。しかし、第1基材層200と第1層310とが粘着層、接着層又は粘接着層によって積層される場合も本発明の範囲に含まれ得る。
パターン層300は、第1基材層200の光出射面に形成され、第1基材層200を透過した光を拡散させることができる。

(前記数式1において、Cは、パターン部の周期(単位:μm)で、Pは、光学パターンの最大幅(単位:μm)である。)
第2基材層400は、パターン層300の光出射面に形成され、パターン層300から出射された光を出射させることができる。第2基材層400は、パターン層300のうち第2層320に直接形成され、偏光板10を薄型化させることができる。前記「直接形成」とは、第2基材層400とパターン層300との間に任意の粘着層、接着層、又は粘接着層が介在しないことを意味する。しかし、第2基材層400と第2層320とが粘着層、接着層又は粘接着層によって積層される場合も本発明の範囲に含まれ得る。

(前記数式1において、C1は、パターン部の周期(単位:μm)で、P1は、光学パターンの最大幅(単位:μm)である。)
SSC−6000(SHIN−A T&C Co.,Ltd.)樹脂を高屈折層用組成物(粒子を含まない)として使用した。高屈折層用組成物は、所定の溶媒をさらに含んでもよい。
SSC−5500(SHIN−A T&C Co.,Ltd.)樹脂を高屈折層用組成物(粒子を含まない)として使用した。高屈折層用組成物は、所定の溶媒をさらに含んでもよい。
実施例1において、陰刻の光学パターンと平坦部を下記の表1のように変更したことを除いては、同一の方法で偏光板を製造した。
実施例3において、第1層と第2層の屈折率を実施例2の高屈折層用組成物及び低屈折層用組成物を用いて下記の表2のように変更したことを除いては、同一の方法で偏光板を製造した。
ポリビニルアルコールフィルムを60℃で3倍延伸し、ヨウ素を吸着させた後、40℃のホウ酸水溶液で2.5倍延伸することによって偏光子を製造した。前記製造した偏光子の上部面に第1基材層用透明PETフィルム(東洋紡株式会社、SRF、厚さ:80μm、Re=14,000nm)をUV硬化型接着剤で接着させることによって偏光板を製造した。
第2基材層として反射防止層が一面に形成された透明PETフィルム(東洋紡株式会社、SRF、厚さ:80μm、Re=8,000nm)の他の一面に、前記実施例1の高屈折率層用組成物を所定の厚さで塗布した。前記塗布層にパターンと平坦部とが交互に形成されたフィルムを用いてパターンを印加し、これをUV硬化させることによって、下記の表1の陰刻の光学パターンと平坦部とが交互に形成された高屈折率層を形成した。前記高屈折層には、前記実施例1の低屈折率層用組成物を、前記陰刻の光学パターンを完全に充填するように塗布した。
実施例1において、第1層と第2層の屈折率を下記の表2のように変更したことを除いては、同一の方法で偏光板を製造した。
比較例2において、第1層と第2層の屈折率を下記の表2のように変更し、高屈折率層に高屈折率粒子としてジルコニアを添加したことを除いては、同一の方法で偏光板を製造した。
ポリビニルアルコールフィルムを60℃で3倍延伸し、ヨウ素を吸着させた後、40℃のホウ酸水溶液で2.5倍延伸することによって偏光子を製造した。偏光子の両面に基材層としてトリアセチルセルロースフィルム(厚さ80μm)を偏光板用接着剤(Z−200、日本合成化学工業株式会社)で接着させることによって偏光板を製造した。製造した偏光板を光源側偏光板として使用した。
前記製造した光源側偏光板、液晶パネル(PVAモード)、前記実施例と比較例で製造した偏光板を順次組み立てることによって液晶表示装置用モジュールを製造した。そして、実施例と比較例で製造した偏光板のうち第2基材層が最外郭に出るように組み立てた。
Claims (20)
- 偏光フィルム、及び前記偏光フィルムの光出射面に順次形成された第1基材層及びパターン層を含み、
前記パターン層は、前記第1基材層から順次形成された第1層及び第2層を含み、前記第1層は、前記第2層より高い屈折率を有し、
前記第1層は、前記第2層と対向する少なくとも一部分に2個以上の光学パターンを備えており、前記光学パターンと隣り合う前記光学パターンとの間に平坦部を備えているパターン部を含む、偏光板。 - 前記第1層と前記第2層との間の屈折率の差は0.05以上である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第1層は、粒子を含まない無粒子型樹脂層である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2層は、粒子を含まない無粒子型樹脂層である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記光学パターンは、レンチキュラーレンズパターン、最下部に一つの平面が形成され、傾斜面が平面の断面が多角形であるパターン、最下部に一つの平面が形成され、傾斜面が曲面であるパターン、及び断面が長方形又は正方形などのN角形であるパターンのうち1種以上を含む、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記光学パターンは、レンチキュラーレンズパターン、又は、最下部に一つの平面が形成され、傾斜面が平面の断面が多角形であるパターンである、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記パターン部は、下記の数式1を満足する、請求項1に記載の偏光板。

(前記数式1において、Cは、パターン部の周期(単位:μm)で、Pは、光学パターンの最大幅(単位:μm)である。) - 前記光学パターンは、最下部に一つの平面が形成され、傾斜面が平面の断面が多角形である陰刻の光学パターン、又は陰刻のレンチキュラーレンズパターンである、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記光学パターンは、アスペクト比が0を超え3.0以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記パターン層は、肉厚が0μmを超え30μm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記光学パターンは陰刻の光学パターンであって、
前記第2層は、前記第1層との界面に前記陰刻の光学パターンの少なくとも一部分を充填する充填パターンを有する、請求項1に記載の偏光板。 - 前記パターン層の断面積において、前記第1層の全体の断面積に対する前記第2層のうち前記充填パターンの全体の断面積の総和の比は40%以上60%以下である、請求項11に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第1基材層は、前記第1層に直接形成され、前記第1基材層は、波長550nmでReが15,000nm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2層の光出射面に第2基材層がさらに形成された、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2基材層は、前記第2層に直接形成され、前記第2基材層は、波長550nmでReが15,000nm以下である、請求項14に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2基材層は、セルロースエステル系樹脂、環状ポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリカーボネート系樹脂、ポリエステル系樹脂、ポリエーテルスルホン系樹脂、ポリスルホン系樹脂、ポリアミド系樹脂、ポリイミド系樹脂、非環状ポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリ(メタ)アクリレート系樹脂、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂、ポリ塩化ビニル系樹脂、及びポリ塩化ビニリデン系樹脂のうち一つ以上を含む、請求項14に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2基材層の光出射面にプライマー層、ハードコーティング層、耐指紋性層、反射防止層、アンチグレア層、低反射層、及び超低反射層のうち1種以上の機能層がさらに形成された、請求項14に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第2層の最上部面が機能層化された、請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記第1基材層は、前記第1層に直接形成され、前記第1基材層は、波長550nmでReが3,000nm以上15,000nm以下であって、
前記第2基材層は、前記第2層に直接形成され、前記第2基材層は、波長550nmでReが3,000nm以上15,000nm以下のものである、請求項14に記載の偏光板。 - 請求項1から19のいずれか1項に記載の偏光板を含む、光学表示装置。
