本組成物は、30重量%〜70重量%の式1と、30重量%〜70重量%の式2と、を含む。
式2の化合物
本組成物は、30重量%〜70重量%の式1と、30重量%〜70重量%の式2と、を含む。いくつかの実施形態では、n=5〜7であり、他の実施形態では、n=5〜6である。このような組成物は、いくつかの実施形態では、水性コーティング組成物、例えば塗料または他のコーティングに添加剤として提供することができる。
PVC(%)=(顔料(複数可)の体積、+増量剤(複数可)体積×100)/(塗料の総乾燥体積)。
この実施例では、n=4〜8の式1の化合物と式2の化合物とを含む組成物の最小膜形成温度を評価する。
水性ポリマー分散体のポリマー含有量に基づき34重量%の固形分及び8重量%の合体剤レベルを含有する2ガロンのベース塗料配合物のバッチを表3に記載のように調製する。
光沢は、塗装表面の外観を特徴付けるために使用される塗料の特性であり、表面が光を反射する程度の測定値である。大部分の光(>90%)が表面から反射されると、表面は高い光沢を有すると言われる。光沢は、特定の角度(例えば、20°、60°、85°)で表面に光を照射し、感受器への反射率を測定することによって、光沢計を用いて測定される。結果は光沢単位(GU)で得られ、単位数が高いほど、表面がより明るくなる。
水性ポリマー分散体のポリマー含有量に基づき、5重量%の凍結融解添加剤及び8重量%の合体剤レベルを含む、本発明の一実施形態に従う水性コーティング組成物(発明組成物9)500グラムを、表8に記載のように調製する。
Claims (24)
- 水性ポリマー分散体を含む水性コーティング組成物の凍結/融解安定性を改善する方法であって、式1の化合物を前記水性コーティング組成物に添加することを含み、
- n=5〜7である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- n=5〜6である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー分散体固形分の重量に基づいて、5〜10重量%の式1が添加される、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー分散体固形分の重量に基づいて、5〜8重量%の式1が添加される、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記水性コーティング組成物に少なくとも1つの合体剤を添加することをさらに含む、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記合体剤が、式2の化合物を含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記合体剤が、プロピレングリコールフェニルエーテル、エチレングリコールフェニルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、エチレングリコールn−ブチルエーテルベンゾエート、トリプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、2,2,4−トリメチル−1,3−ペンタンジオールモノイソブチレート、トリエチレングリコールビス−2−エチルヘキサノエート、及びトリブチルシトレートのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマー分散体固形分の重量に基づいて、2〜12重量%の式2が添加される、請求項6〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散体がアクリルポリマーを含む、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記水性コーティング組成物に1つ以上のポリアルコキシレートを添加することをさらに含む、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 水性ポリマー分散体及び式1の化合物を含む水性コーティング組成物であって、
- n=5〜7である、請求項12に記載のコーティング組成物。
- n=5〜6である、請求項12に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記コーティング組成物が、前記ポリマー分散体固形分の重量に基づいて、5〜8重量%の式1を含む、請求項1〜14のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
- 少なくとも1つの合体剤をさらに含む、請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記合体剤が、式2の化合物を含む、請求項16に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記合体剤は、プロピレングリコールフェニルエーテル、エチレングリコールフェニルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、エチレングリコールn−ブチルエーテルベンゾエート、トリプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、2,2,4−トリメチル−1,3−ペンタンジオールモノイソブチレート、トリエチレングリコールビス−2−エチルヘキサノエート、及びトリブチルシトレートのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項16に記載のコーティング組成物。
- コーティング組成物が、ポリマー分散体固形分の重量に基づいて、2〜12重量%の式2を含む、請求項16〜18のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散体がアクリルポリマーを含む、請求項1〜19のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
