Abstract
Description
コークス材料中に以下の反応成分を均一に分布させるため、TiO2及びB2O3を、各々1〜3μmの粒径で、1:1の化学量論比で、12時間の充填時間にわたってディレードコーカーに連続的に投与した。投与は、不活性ガス(窒素)を用いる粉末吹き付けによって行うことができ、また、反応成分とコーカーフィード(減圧残油、熱分解タール、上澄み油、又はコールタール蒸留物)の部分流とで構成されるスラリーの分散によっても行われる。反応成分の濃度は、最終生成物の所望のTiB2濃度に従う。本例では、スラリーを以下の比例質量%で投与した:
スラリー(減圧残油)=84.3質量%、TiO2=8.4質量%、B2O3=7.3質量%
その結果物は以下の割合の所望のコークスである:
コークス=61.6質量%、TiO2=20.5質量%、B2O3=17.9質量%
グリーン(未焼成体)の製造、焼成、及び2200℃を超える熱仕上げによって生産された結果物は、25.5質量%の割合のTiB2が微細に分布した合成黒鉛体である。
降伏点に70パーセントの添加物粒子が存在している。
本実施例では、添加物の直径に応じて、添加物は降伏点に、又は降伏点で囲まれた領域に蓄積し得る。例えば、アルミニウム溶解物に対するカソードブロックの濡れ性を改善することができる。添加物の割合を制御することで、濡れ性を調整することができる。
ガス焼成無煙炭を衝撃式ミルで略3μmの直径にまですり潰し、篩を用いて、1〜3μmの粒分を結果物として得た。これを10質量%でエチレンタールと分散させた。その分散体を490℃の温度でディレードコーカーに入れた。コーキング圧力は6.6barで、コーキング時間は10時間であった。グリーン(未焼成)石油コークスを1300℃で焼成した。その結果物は、4.5×10−6K−1のCTEと、0.09%の灰分と、0.2ppmのホウ素含有量を有する等方性石油コークスである。このコークスは、原子力発電所の反応炉の黒鉛や高純度等方性黒鉛(isographite)に適している。
本実施例では、添加物は、70%の添加物粒子のパーセンテージで、降伏点に蓄積している。
石油系減圧残油を460℃でディレードコーカーに供給した。コーキング圧力は5.0barで、コーキング時間は8時間であった。コーキング期間全体にわたって、10%のコーカーフィードを減圧残油からの分散体として加え、0.4から0.8mmの直径を有するアセチレンコークスを10質量%で、コーキングドラムのヘッドに加えた。グリーン(未焼成)コークスを焼成した後の結果物は、4質量%のアセチレンコークスが埋め込まれた石油コークスである。そのコークスのCTEは3.5×10−6K−1であった。機械的耐性は、アセチレンコークスが付与されていないコークスと比較して6%上昇した。本実施例の添加物は、70%の添加物粒子のパーセンテージで、降伏点で囲まれた領域に蓄積している。
アルミニウム溶融塩電解の黒鉛カソードにおける本コークスの使用は寿命を1〜2年延ばす。

Claims (11)
- 添加物を備えるコークスであって、前記添加物が降伏点に蓄積しているか又は降伏点で囲まれた領域に蓄積していることを特徴とするコークス。
- 前記コークスが、石油コークス、コールタールピッチコークス、石炭のガス化又は石炭の水素化の残留物、フィッシャートロプシュ合成法で得られたコークス、石油とコールタールピッチの残留物の混合物から得られた石油とコールタールピッチの混合物、又はこれらコークスの混合物から成る群から選択されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物が、前記降伏点に蓄積しているか、又は、前記降伏点で囲まれた領域に埋め込まれているか、又は、前記降伏点に蓄積し且つ前記降伏点で囲まれた領域に埋め込まれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物が、アセチレンコークス、フルードコークス、フレキシコークス、ショットコークス、カーボンブラック、難黒鉛化性炭素(チャー)、非黒鉛性無煙炭、炭化ケイ素、炭化チタン、二ホウ化チタン、又はこれらの混合物から成る群から選択されていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物が0.1μmから49μmの直径を有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物が0.05mmから5mmの直径を有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物が、0.1μmから49μmの直径を有する添加物と0.05mmから5mmの直径を有する添加物との混合物として存在していることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物の割合が0.5質量%から8質量%であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のコークス。
- 前記添加物の割合が1質量%から40質量%であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のコークス。
- 前記混合物の0.1μmから49μmの直径を有する添加物の割合が0.5質量%から8質量%であり、前記混合物の0.05mmから5mmの直径を有する添加物の割合が5質量%から20質量%であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のコークス。
- 炉のライニング、鉄鋼生産用の黒鉛電極、黒鉛電極同士を接続するための黒鉛体、アルミニウム生産用のカソードブロック、原子力応用、強腐食性媒体分野の処理技術用の装置工学、チューブバンドル熱交換器、特殊黒鉛、シリコン生産、太陽電池生産、放電機械加工及び加熱素子用の電極、スライドリングシール、黒鉛ベアリング、黒鉛ポンプ羽根車、又は黒鉛坩堝のための請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載のコークスの使用。
