Abstract
Description
熱硬化性ポリウレタンポリマーは、製剤成分の適切な選択を通じて達成することのできる広範な範囲の物理的特性及び機械的特性により、種々の産業上の適用において通常採用される。しかしながら、ポリウレタン材料の長時間の性能及び耐久性は、高い大気湿度への曝露によって及び/または大量の水との直接的かつ長時間の接触によって不利に影響され得る。特に、水は、ポリウレタン材料におけるポリマー主鎖を分解することのできる化学反応及び/またはポリマー網に及ぼす可塑化効果を有し得る(例えば、引張強度及び/または引張弾性率のような特性の低下を結果的に生じる)化学反応に関与する能力を有していると考えられている。それゆえ、結果として生じる材料が、高い大気湿度への曝露の後でさえ及び/または大量の水との直接的なかつ長時間の接触によってでさえ高性能を準備する接着剤及びコーティングのようなポリウレタン系適用物を形成するための代替が探索される。
イソシアナート成分は、少なくとも1つのポリイソシアナート及び/または少なくとも1つのポリイソシアナート由来の少なくとも1つのイソシアナート末端プレポリマーのような、少なくとも1つのイソシアナートを含む。例示的な実施形態において、当該イソシアナート成分は、さらなる助剤を含み得る。
イソシアナート反応性成分は、少なくとも1つの高分子量酸化ブチレン系ポリオール(すなわち、2000g/モルよりも大きな分子量を有するポリオール)を含む。例示的な実施形態において、高分子量酸化ブチレン系ポリオールは、イソシアナート反応性成分におけるポリオール(非酸化ブチレン系ポリオールを含む)の総重量に基づいて5重量%〜100重量%(例えば、10重量%〜100重量%、20重量%〜100重量%、30重量%〜100重量%、40重量%〜100重量%、50重量%〜100重量%、60重量%〜100重量%、60重量%〜90重量%、60重量%〜80重量%、65重量%〜100重量%、65重量%〜90重量%、65重量%〜85重量%、65重量%〜75重量%など)の量で存在する。例示的な実施形態において、高分子量酸化ブチレン系ポリオールは、硬化した組成物を形成するための反応混合物の総重量に基づいて5重量%〜50重量%(例えば、5重量%〜45重量%、10重量%〜40重量%、10重量%〜30重量%、15重量%〜30重量%、15重量%〜25重量%など)の量で存在する。イソシアナート反応性成分は、例えば、比較的低分子量かつ2〜6という名目上のヒドロキシル官能性を有する他の酸化ブチレン系ポリオールを任意に含み得る。
種々の助剤は、結果として生じる接着剤またはコーティングの特徴を調整するために、硬化した組成物を形成するための反応混合物へ添加されてもよく、例えば、当業者に既知の助剤が使用されてもよい。助剤は、イソシアナート成分及び/またはイソシアナート反応性成分の一部として添加されてもよい。例示的な助剤は、触媒、接着プロモーター、水分スカベンジャー、治療薬、pH中和剤、可塑剤、適合剤、充填剤(官能性充填剤、シリカ系充填剤、及び鉱物系充填剤など)、顔料/色素、及び/または架橋剤を含む。
高分子量酸化ブチレン系ポリオール(トリオールなど)を含む硬化した組成物は、2つのガラス転移温度(Tg)及びエラストマー機械特性を呈する接着材料を製造するために使用されることができる。さらに、高分子量酸化ブチレン系ポリオールの使用は、0.8:1.2〜1.2:0.8という名目上の体積混合比を有する2成分接着系の製剤を可能にする。結果として生じる調製された硬化した組成物は、同等の分子量及び官能性の非酸化ブチレン系(または類似の疎水性ポリオール系)組成物を用いて調製されたポリマーよりも高い吸水抵抗も呈し得る。また、接着剤及び/またはコーティング製剤における酸化ブチレン系ポリオールの使用は、酸化プロピレン及び/または酸化エチレンから製造されたポリオールを用いて調製された類似の製剤と比較したとき、結果として生じる特性に不利に影響することはない。
標的とされる酸化ブチレンが水酸化カリウムを用いて触媒されたグリセリンへ供給される反応炉の中で、高分子量BOポリオールを調製する。磁気駆動インペラ、圧力変換器、不静定の反応炉熱電対、及び被覆戻り管路熱電対を装備した、被覆した整流付き9Lステンレス鋼オートクレーブ反応炉へ、供給物をすべて入れる。酸化ブチレンまたは何らかの他の追加の酸化物の供給の前に、当業者によって理解されるであろうように、反応炉を窒素で加圧し、数回ベントして、雰囲気酸素を除去する。

Claims (10)
- 硬化した組成物であって、
1つ以上のイソシアナートを有するイソシアナート成分と酸化ブチレン系ポリオールを有するイソシアナート反応性成分とを含む混合物の反応生成物を含み、前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールが、2,000g/モルよりも大きくかつ8,000g/モルよりも小さな数平均分子量及び2〜4という名目上のヒドロキシル官能性を有し、前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールを形成するために使用される酸化アルキレンの総重量の少なくとも50重量%が酸化ブチレンであり、前記混合物のイソシアナート指数が90〜150であり、
硬化状態にある前記硬化した組成物が、ある温度範囲にわたるtanデルタプロットにより、−50℃〜0℃の第1の温度範囲の間の第1のtanデルタピーク、及び75℃〜150℃の第2の温度範囲の間の第2のtanデルタピークを呈し、前記第1のtanデルタピークの値及び前記第2のtanデルタピークの値が各々、動的機械熱分析によって測定される、前記温度範囲内の特定の温度における、前記硬化した組成物の損失弾性率と前記硬化した組成物の貯蔵弾性率の比を表し、前記第1及び前記第2のtanデルタピークの前記値が0.10〜0.90である、硬化した組成物。 - 前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールが、酸化アルキレンの総重量に基づいて75重量%〜100重量%の酸化ブチレンに由来し、前記名目上のヒドロキシル官能性が3であり、前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールが、前記イソシアナート反応性成分中にポリオールの総重量の5重量%〜100重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールの前記数平均分子量が、4000g/モル〜5500g/モルである、請求項1または請求項2に記載の組成物。
- 前記イソシアナート成分と前記イソシアナート反応性成分の体積比が、0.8:1.2〜1.2:0.8である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記イソシアナート反応性成分は、前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールとは異なり、かつ2という名目上のヒドロキシル官能性を有するポリエーテルポリオールをさらに含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記イソシアナート成分が、前記イソシアナート成分の総重量に基づいて20重量%〜100重量%の1つ以上のイソシアナート末端プレポリマーであって、前記1つ以上のイソシアナート末端プレポリマーの総重量に基づいて、1重量%〜35重量%のイソシアナート基含有量を有する、1つ以上のイソシアナート末端プレポリマーを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の組成物。
- 前記酸化ブチレン系ポリオールが1〜10の別個の段階を用いて調製され、各段階が酸化ブチレンの添加を含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記イソシアナート反応性成分が、前記イソシアナート反応性成分の総重量に基づいて2重量%〜25重量%のジプロピレングリコールを含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の硬化した組成物を含む、ポリウレタン系接着剤。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の硬化した組成物を含む、ポリウレタン系コーティング。
