Description
第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極及び第2共通電極と、前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した信号線と、前記信号線と電気的に接続され、前記第1共通電極に重畳した画素電極と、前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記信号線に重畳し、前記第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、を備え、前記第1金属配線には、複数の接続部から所定電圧が印加される、表示装置が提供される。
本実施形態によれば、
表示部と、前記表示部を囲む非表示部と、を備え、前記表示部において、第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極、第2共通電極、及び、第3共通電極と、前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、前記第2共通電極と前記第3共通電極との間に位置し、前記第2方向に沿って延出した第2金属配線と、前記非表示部に配置された給電線と、を備え、前記第1金属配線及び前記第2金属配線は、それぞれの一端側で前記給電線と電気的に接続されている、表示装置が提供される。
本実施形態によれば、
第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極及び第2共通電極と、前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、前記第1共通電極と前記第2方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第3共通電極と、を備え、前記第1金属配線は、前記第1共通電極に隣接し前記第1共通電極と電気的に接続された第1配線部と、前記第3共通電極に隣接し前記第3共通電極と電気的に接続された第2配線部と、を備え、前記第1配線部及び前記第2配線部は、前記第2方向に間隔をおいて並んでいる、表示装置が提供される。
表示パネルPNLは、さらに、タッチセンサTSを備えている。図示した例では、タッチセンサTSは、表示部DAに設けられているが、非表示部NDAにも設けられていてもよい。タッチセンサTSの主要部は、第1基板SUB1に設けられている。
センサ配線L2は、センサ電極Rx2及びRx3と重畳し、センサ電極Rx2と電気的に接続されている。ダミー配線D21は、センサ配線L2から離間している。ダミー配線D21は、センサ電極Rx1と重畳し、センサ電極Rx1と電気的に接続されている。センサ配線L2及びダミー配線D21は、後述するように同一の信号線上に位置している。
センサ配線L3は、センサ電極Rx3と重畳し、センサ電極Rx3と電気的に接続されている。ダミー配線D31は、センサ電極Rx1と重畳し、センサ電極Rx1と電気的に接続されている。ダミー配線D32は、ダミー配線D31及びセンサ配線L3から離間している。ダミー配線D32は、センサ電極Rx2と重畳し、センサ電極Rx2と電気的に接続されている。センサ配線L3、ダミー配線D31及びD32は、同一の信号線上に位置している。
なお、画像表示モードにおいては、センサ電極Rxは、コモン電圧(Vcom)が印加される。コモン電圧は、例えばディスプレイドライバDDに含まれる電圧供給部からセンサ配線Lを介して印加される。
例えば、図中のセンサ電極Rx1とセンサ電極Rx11との間に位置するシールド配線LSに着目する。シールド配線LSは、ダミー配線D31とセンサ配線L4との間に位置している。シールド配線LSの一端側は、領域A1に位置する接続部P1において、給電部F1と電気的に接続されている。また、シールド配線LSの他端側は、領域A2に位置する接続部P2において、給電部F2と電気的に接続されている。これにより、シールド配線LSには、給電線Fから所定電圧が印加される。給電線Fから供給される所定電圧については、上記の通り、画像表示モードとタッチセンシングモードとで異なる。つまり、タッチセンシングモード時はセンサ駆動電圧が給電線Fに印加され、画像表示モード時はコモン電圧(Vcom)が給電線Fに印加される。
偏光板PL1を含む光学素子OD1は、絶縁基板10に接着されている。偏光板PL2を含む光学素子OD2は、絶縁基板20に接着されている。
金属配線M3は、絶縁膜14及び15の間に位置している。絶縁膜14は、接続部P2に対応して貫通孔CH2を有している。金属配線M3は、貫通孔CH2において給電部F2に接続されている。
スイッチング素子SW1のドレイン電極DE1、及び、スイッチング素子SW2のドレイン電極DE2は、絶縁膜13及び絶縁膜14の間に位置している。ドレイン電極DE1及びDE2、及び、信号線S2乃至S4は、同一工程で形成され、同一材料によって形成されている。
接続電極CN12は接続電極CN11に接し、接続電極CN22は接続電極CN21に接している。接続電極CN12及びCN22、図8に示した共通電極CE1及びCE2は、同一工程で形成され、同一材料によって形成されている。
配線部M32と共通電極CE3との接続構造についても同様である。共通電極CE3は、配線部M22に重畳し、配線部M22と電気的に接続されている。配線部M22及びM32は、接続線MC2を介して互いに電気的に接続されている。なお、配線部M32は、共通電極CE2に直接接続されてもよいし、共通電極CE2に接続された他の金属配線(配線部)に接続されていてもよい。
金属配線M3は第1金属配線に相当し、配線部M31は第1配線部に相当し、配線部M32は第2配線部に相当し、金属配線M2は第2金属配線に相当し、配線部M21は第3配線部に相当し、配線部M22は第4配線部に相当する。
このような構成例においても、上記の構成例と同様の効果が得られる。
また、本実施形態では、基板主面に沿った横電界を利用する表示モードに対応した表示パネルPNLについて説明したが、これに限らず、基板主面の法線に沿った縦電界を利用する表示モード、基板主面に対して斜め方向に傾斜した傾斜電界を利用する表示モード、さらには、上記の横電界、縦電界、及び、傾斜電界を適宜組み合わせて利用する表示モードに対応したいずれの表示パネルであってもよい。ここでの基板主面とは、X−Y平面と平行な面である。

Claims (12)
- 第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極及び第2共通電極と、
前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した信号線と、
前記信号線と電気的に接続され、前記第1共通電極に重畳した画素電極と、
前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記信号線に重畳し、前記第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、を備え、
前記第1金属配線には、複数の接続部から所定電圧が印加される、表示装置。 - 前記第1金属配線は、前記第1共通電極及び前記第2共通電極のいずれとも接続していない、請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- さらに、前記第1共通電極及び前記第2共通電極を囲む給電線を備え、
前記第1金属配線は、その一端側に位置する第1接続部と、その他端側に位置する第2接続部とで前記給電線と電気的に接続されている、請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。 - さらに、第2金属配線を備え、
前記第2金属配線及び前記第1金属配線は、この順に前記第1方向に並び、
前記第1共通電極は、前記第2金属配線に重畳し、前記第2金属配線と電気的に接続されている、請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - さらに、第3金属配線を備え、
前記第1金属配線及び前記第3金属配線は、この順に前記第1方向に並び、
前記第2共通電極は、前記第3金属配線に重畳し、
前記第3金属配線は、前記給電線と交差している、請求項4に記載の表示装置。 - さらに、第1絶縁膜と、第2絶縁膜と、第3絶縁膜と、第4絶縁膜と、を備え、
前記信号線は、前記第1絶縁膜と前記第2絶縁膜との間に位置する第1導電層と、前記第2絶縁膜と前記第3絶縁膜との間に位置し前記第2絶縁膜を貫通した貫通孔において前記第1導電層に接続された第2導電層と、を備え、
前記給電線は、前記第2絶縁膜と前記第3絶縁膜との間に位置し、前記第1導電層に重畳し、前記第2導電層から離間し、
前記第1金属配線は、前記第3絶縁膜と前記第4絶縁膜との間に位置し、前記第3絶縁膜を貫通した貫通孔において前記給電線に接続されている、請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第3絶縁膜及び前記第4絶縁膜は、有機絶縁膜である、請求項6に記載の表示装置。
- 表示部と、前記表示部を囲む非表示部と、を備え、
前記表示部において、第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極、第2共通電極、及び、第3共通電極と、
前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、
前記第2共通電極と前記第3共通電極との間に位置し、前記第2方向に沿って延出した第2金属配線と、
前記非表示部に配置された給電線と、を備え、
前記第1金属配線及び前記第2金属配線は、それぞれの一端側で前記給電線と電気的に接続されている、表示装置。 - 前記第1金属配線及び前記第2金属配線は、それぞれの他端側で前記給電線と電気的に接続されている、請求項8に記載の表示装置。
- 前記非表示部は、第1領域と、第2領域と、を備え、
前記表示部は、前記第1領域と前記第2領域との間に位置し、
前記給電線は、前記第1領域において前記第1方向に沿って延出した第1給電部と、前記第2領域において前記第1方向に沿って延出した第2給電部と、を備え、
前記第1金属配線は、前記第1給電部及び前記第2給電部とそれぞれ電気的に接続されている、請求項8に記載の表示装置。 - 第1方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第1共通電極及び第2共通電極と、
前記第1共通電極と前記第2共通電極との間に位置し、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第1金属配線と、
前記第1共通電極と前記第2方向に間隔をおいて並んだ第3共通電極と、を備え、
前記第1金属配線は、前記第1共通電極に隣接し前記第1共通電極と電気的に接続された第1配線部と、前記第3共通電極に隣接し前記第3共通電極と電気的に接続された第2配線部と、を備え、
前記第1配線部及び前記第2配線部は、前記第2方向に間隔をおいて並んでいる、表示装置。 - さらに、第2金属配線を備え、
前記第2金属配線は、前記第1共通電極に重畳し前記第1共通電極と電気的に接続された第3配線部と、前記第3共通電極に重畳し前記第3共通電極と電気的に接続された第4配線部と、を備え、
前記第3配線部及び前記第4配線部は、前記第2方向に間隔をおいて並び、
前記第1配線部及び前記第3配線部は、前記第1方向に並び、互いに電気的に接続され、
