Abstract
Description
アルミン酸塩ガラスではAl2O3が主要な網状組織形成体であり、ガラスの安定化にCaOと少量のSiO2が使用される。MgOなどの他の酸化物もガラスの安定化を助けることができる。これらのガラスは、市販のイオン交換強化ガラスに比べてヤング率をおおよそ40%向上させることができる。アルミン酸塩ガラス組成物は典型的には、高価な、または稀な原材料を必要とせず、従って種々の実施形態で有利になり得る。アルミン酸塩ガラスでは、クラッドの形成にアルミナのアイソパイプの使用を必要とし得る。またアルミン酸塩ガラスは特に急勾配の粘度曲線を有し、これが圧密(compaction)を最小にするよう作用する。アルミン酸塩ガラスは一般にイオン交換可能ではなく、より高いCTEのコアガラスと組み合わせることによって強化ガラス積層体を提供する実施形態に適し得る。
オキシナイトライドガラスでは、いくつかの2配位酸素アニオンが3配位窒素に置き換えられる。各架橋酸素原子は、ガラスの網状組織の2つの堅い拘束(rigid constraint)に寄与し、一方各窒素は4.5の堅い拘束に寄与する。オキシナイトライドガラスを利用する実施形態はきわめて高いヤング率を有し、ガラス内に取り込まれた窒素の量次第で、市販のイオン交換強化ガラスに比べて例えば最大で約150%から200%のヤング率の増加を実現することができる。オキシナイトライドガラスの色は一般に黒色であり、そのためカバーガラスとしては適していない可能性がある。しかしながら、これらを例えば電話または他の機器の裏打ち基板として使用してもよい。オキシナイトライドガラスは白金に適合しないため、このガラスは非白金の送出系で使用され得る。

ベリルガラスはベリリウムを含む。例えば、ベリリウム・アルミノケイ酸塩(ベリル)を含む実施形態は、硬度、透明度、曲げ剛性、熱的安定性、耐熱透明性、および低密度に対して大きな利益をもたらす。
