Abstract
Description
(i)43%〜52%のエトキシル含量を有するエチルセルロースポリマーと可塑剤とを含む材料を提供することと、
(ii)材料を加熱及びノズルを介して吐出して、ベース上に堆積される押出物を形成することと、
(iii)ベースとノズルとの間に所定のパターンの水平変位があるように材料を吐出しながら、ベース、ノズル、またはそれらの組み合わせを移動させて、ベース上に材料の初期層を形成することと、
(iv)工程(ii)及び(iii)を繰り返して、初期層上に付着または融着した材料の連続層を形成して、付加製造部品を形成することと、を含む、方法である。
印刷品質は、以下の格付けを用いて評価した。
曲げ性は、フィラメントがどの程度可撓性であり、最終的にフィラメントがどの程度耐性で取り扱うことになるのかを記述するのに役立つ。これは、フィラメントが破断する前にフィラメント(直径1.75mm)が曲げられ得る最小円の面積として定義される。フィラメントの柔軟性が高いほど、cm2で示される面積は小さくなる。
伸び%及び引張り強さ機械的試験は、500ニュートン荷重を有するInstron 5542フレーム及びバージョン3.06のBlue Hill Softwareを使用して決定した。試料は直径約1.75mmのフィラメント75mm片であった。試験速度は5mm/分であり、エアグリップの間のギャップは2インチであった。5本のフィラメントの平均値が報告される。この方法は、指定されたドッグボーン形状の試験片形状をフィラメントに置き換えることを除いて、ASTM D638−10に記載されている方法と本質的に同じである。
装填性は、MakerBot Replicatorプリンタの送給機構を介して押出ノズル内に引き込まれても、フィラメントが存続する能力を示す。3つのカテゴリがある:
・「1」フィラメントが破損することなく装填・印刷が可能なフィラメントを示す。
・「2」フィラメントが機械に装填されて印刷される可能性があるがただし、印刷ヘッドの動作により印刷中にフィラメントが破損したことを示す。
・「3」フィラメントがローラーによってクラッシュし、機械に送給できないことを示す。
2.0のDS及び0.9のMSを有する(ここで、DSはメトキシル基の置換度であり、MSはヒドロキシプロポキシル基のモル置換度である。)ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース(HPMC)と共に、実施例3の組成物を用いて2cmの立方体を印刷した。このHPMCは、同時係属中の国際出願第PCT/US15/010746号に記載されているように調製され、フィラメントに作製された。立方体を印刷するとき、印刷層は実施例3の組成物とHPMCとの間で交互になった。印刷温度は190℃であった。これらの層は優れた付着性を有し、印刷品質はカテゴリ1であった。
HPMCの代わりに、2.07のDS及び0.56のMSを有するヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロース(HEMC)を使用して、1cm立方体を印刷したことを除いて、実施例9を繰り返した。このHEMCは、同時係属中の米国仮出願第62/172,850号に記載されているように調製された。印刷温度は190℃であった。これらの層は優れた付着性を有し、印刷品質はカテゴリ1であった。
HPMCの代わりにMakerBot(Stratasys)から入手可能なポリビニルアルコール(PVA)フィラメントを使用した以外は実施例9を繰り返した。立方体は180〜190℃の温度で印刷した。印刷品質は1から2まで変化した。容易な取り扱いの中の破壊を防止するために層を適切に結合したが、結合は実施例9及び10ほど強くなかった。実施例9−11は、可塑剤を有するセルロースエーテルが水溶性ポリマーと同時印刷されて複雑形状のエチルセルロース部品を製造する能力を実証し、ここで、水溶性ポリマーは支持材料であるか、またはその逆である(すなわち、水溶性ポリマーを溶解しない溶媒中でエチルセルロースを除去することができる)。
Claims (20)
- 付加製造の方法であって、
(i)43質量%〜52質量%のエトキシル含量を有するエチルセルロースポリマーと可塑剤とを含む材料を提供することと、
(ii)前記材料を加熱及びノズルを介して吐出して、ベース上に堆積される押出物を形成することと、
(iii)前記ベースとノズルとの間に所定のパターンの水平変位があるように前記材料を吐出しながら、前記ベース、ノズル、またはそれらの組み合わせを移動させて、前記ベース上に前記材料の初期層を形成することと、
(iv)工程(ii)及び(iii)を繰り返して、前記初期層上に付着した前記材料の連続層を形成して、付加製造部品を形成することと、を含む、方法。 - 前記方法が、複数の連続層が付着して蓄積されて、前記付加製造部品を形成するように、工程(iv)を繰り返すことをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記エチルセルロースポリマーが2〜400センチポアズの粘度を有し、前記粘度は、80重量%トルエン/20重量%エタノール溶液中の、5重量%の前記エチルセルロースポリマー溶液の粘度である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記可塑剤が、グリセリン、フタル酸ジブチル、フタル酸ジフェニル、ヒマシ油、フタル酸ジシクロヘキシル、ブチルフタリルブチルグリコレート、リン酸クレジルジフェニル、ステアリン酸ブチル、フタル酸ベンジル、クエン酸トリエチル、セバシン酸ジブチル、ソルビトール、及びトリアセチン、またはそれらの混合物である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記材料が、充填剤、薬物、食品、染料、潤滑剤、界面活性剤、安定剤、酸化防止剤、またはそれらの混合物を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記材料が溶解しない溶媒に溶解する第2の材料を提供することをさらに含み、前記加熱、吐出、移動、及び繰り返しは、前記付加製造部品が前記材料及び第2の材料を含むように、前記材料及び第2の材料を用いて行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記材料が溶解しない前記溶媒に前記第2の材料を溶解することによって、前記付加製造部品から前記第2の材料を除去することをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の材料が溶解しない溶媒に前記材料を溶解することによって、前記付加製造部品から前記材料を除去することをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の材料が、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロース、またはそれらの組み合わせである、請求項7または8に記載の方法。
- 前記ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースは、少なくとも1.0のDS及び少なくとも0.6のMSを有するヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロースであり、ここでDSはメトキシル基の置換度であり、MSはヒドロキシプロポキシル基のモル置換度であり、前記ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロースは、1.8〜2.5のDS及び少なくとも0.5〜2.5のMSを有するヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロースであり、ここでDSはメトキシル基の置換度であり、MSはヒドロキシエトキシル基のモル置換度である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の材料が、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロース、またはそれらの組み合わせであり、前記溶媒が水である、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 第2の材料がヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシエチルメチルセルロースであり、前記溶媒がアルコール、芳香族炭化水素、脂環式炭化水素、塩素化脂肪族炭化水素、塩素化芳香族炭化水素、エーテル、エーテル、ケトン、それらの組み合わせ、またはそれらの混合物である、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記溶媒がメチルアルコール、エチルアルコール、またはそれらの混合物である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 加熱が約120℃〜220℃の温度までである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれか1項により作製された付加製造物品。
- 一緒に融着された複数の材料押出物の少なくとも2つの層を含み、前記材料押出物が43重量%〜52重量%のエトキシル含量を有するエチルセルロースポリマーと可塑剤とを含む、付加製造物品。
- 前記付加製造物品のヤング率が0.1〜4GPaである、請求項16に記載の付加製造物品。
- 前記材料が少なくとも1.0%の引張り破断伸度を有する、請求項17に記載の付加製造物品。
- 前記付加製造物品が生体適合性である、請求項18に記載の付加製造物品。
- 前記付加製造物品が、薬物または食品をさらに含む、請求項19に記載の付加製造物品。
