Abstract
Description
ヘッドマウントディスプレイは、ユーザの頭部に装着され、そのように装着されている場合、ユーザの頭部の位置又は配向に関わらず、少なくとも1つの電子ディスプレイをユーザの眼の少なくとも1つの可視界内部に固定する電子デバイスである。ウェアラブルヘッドアップディスプレイは、ユーザが表示された内容を見ることを可能にするが、ユーザが彼らの外部環境を見ることができることを妨げないヘッドマウントディスプレイである。ウェアラブルヘッドアップディスプレイの「表示する」内容は、それが、ユーザが彼らの外部環境を見ることができることを完全に妨害しないように、透明か、ユーザの視野の周囲にあるかのどちらか一方である。ウェアラブルヘッドアップディスプレイの例は、幾つか挙げると、Google Glass(登録商標)、Optinvent Ora(登録商標)、Epson モベリオ(Moverio)(登録商標)、及びSony グラストロン(Glasstron)(登録商標)を含む。
視標追跡は、それによって眼の位置、向き、及び/又は動きが測定され、検出され、検知され、判断される(総称して、「測定される」)か、及び/又は監視されてもよいプロセスである。眼の位置、向き、及び/又は動きは、異なる様々な方法で測定されてもよく、そのうちの最も侵襲的でないものが、通常、1つ以上の光学センサ(例えば、カメラ)を利用して、光学的に眼を追跡する。共通する技法は、眼全体に一挙に赤外光を当てるか、照らし、赤外光に対して敏感であるように調整された少なくとも1つの光学センサで反射を測定することを含む。赤外光が眼から反射する方法についての情報は、角膜、瞳孔、虹彩、及び/又は網膜血管等の1つ以上の眼の特徴の位置、向き、及び/又は動きを判断するよう分析される。
Claims (22)
- 統合された視標追跡装置を有するレーザプロジェクタであって、
赤外光を出力する赤外レーザダイオード及び可視光を出力する少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードを含むレーザモジュールと、
前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を受け、且つ、前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を制御可能に反射するよう、前記レーザモジュールの出力と位置調整される走査ミラーと、
前記走査ミラーから反射された前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を受け、且つ、前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方をユーザの眼に向け直すよう位置調整される波長多重化ホログラフィック光学素子(「HOE」)であって、前記可視光に反応し、前記赤外光に反応しない第1のホログラムと、前記赤外光に反応し、前記可視光に反応しない第2のホログラムとを含む波長多重化HOEと、
前記ユーザの前記眼から反射された赤外光の少なくとも一部を受けるよう位置調整される赤外検出器と、を備える、
レーザプロジェクタ。 - 前記波長多重化HOEは、ホログラフィック材料の少なくとも2つの異なる層、前記第1のホログラムを含むホログラフィック材料の第1の層及び前記第2のホログラムを含むホログラフィック材料の第2の層を備える、請求項1に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 前記波長多重化HOEは、前記第1のホログラム及び前記第2のホログラムの両方を含むホログラフィック材料の単一ボリュームを備える、請求項1に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 前記レーザモジュールにおける前記少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードは、赤色レーザダイオード、緑色レーザダイオード、青色レーザダイオード、及び、赤色レーザダイオード、緑色レーザダイオード、及び/又は青色レーザダイオードの任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードを含む、請求項1に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 前記第1のホログラムは第1の屈折力を前記可視光に印加し、前記第2のホログラムは第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加し、前記第2の屈折力は前記第1の屈折力とは異なる、請求項1に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 前記第1の屈折力は正の屈折力であり、前記第1の屈折力は前記第2の屈折力よりも大きい、請求項5に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 前記第2の屈折力はゼロ以下である、請求項6に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- 更に、一対の眼鏡レンズの一般的形状及び外観を有する支持フレームを備え、前記レーザモジュール、前記走査ミラー、前記波長多重化HOE、及び前記赤外検出器は全て前記支持フレームによって担持され、前記波長多重化HOEは、環境光に対して略透明であり、前記支持フレームが前記ユーザの頭部に装着される場合に、前記ユーザの少なくとも1つの眼の視野内に位置決めされる、請求項1に記載のレーザプロジェクタ。
- ウェアラブルヘッドアップディスプレイ(「WHUD」)であって、
使用中、ユーザの頭部に装着される支持フレームと、
前記支持フレームによって担持されるレーザモジュールであって、赤外光を出力する赤外レーザダイオード及び可視光を出力する少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードを含むレーザモジュールと、
前記支持フレームによって担持され、且つ、前記レーザモジュールによって出力される前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を受け、前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を制御可能に反射するよう、前記レーザモジュールの出力と位置調整される走査ミラーと、
前記支持フレームによって担持され、前記支持フレームが前記ユーザの前記頭部に装着される場合に、前記ユーザの少なくとも1つの眼の視野内部に位置決めされる波長多重化HOEであって、前記支持フレームが前記ユーザの頭部に装着される場合、前記走査ミラーから反射された前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を受け、且つ、前記赤外光及び前記可視光の両方を前記ユーザの前記少なくとも1つの眼に向け直すよう位置調整され、前記可視光に反応し、前記赤外光に反応しない第1のホログラムと、前記赤外光に反応し、前記可視光に反応しない第2のホログラムとを含み、そして、環境光に対して略透明である波長多重化HOEと、
前記支持フレームによって担持され、前記支持フレームが前記ユーザの前記頭部に装着される場合に、前記ユーザの前記少なくとも1つの眼から反射される赤外光の少なくとも一部を受けるよう位置調整される赤外検出器と、を備える、
ウェアラブルヘッドアップディスプレイ。 - 前記支持フレームは一対の眼鏡レンズの一般的形状及び外観を有する、請求項9に記載のWHUD。
- 前記波長多重化HOEは、ホログラフィック材料の少なくとも2つの異なる層、前記第1のホログラムを含むホログラフィック材料の第1の層及び前記第2のホログラムを含むホログラフィック材料の第2の層を備える、請求項9に記載のWHUD。

- 前記レーザモジュールにおける前記少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードは、赤色レーザダイオード、緑色レーザダイオード、青色レーザダイオード、及び、赤色レーザダイオード、緑色レーザダイオード、及び/又は青色レーザダイオードの任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの可視光レーザダイオードを含む、請求項9に記載のWHUD。
- 前記第1のホログラムは第1の屈折力を前記可視光に印加し、前記第2のホログラムは第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加し、前記第2の屈折力は前記第1の屈折力とは異なる、請求項9に記載のWHUD。
- 前記第1の屈折力は正の屈折力であり、前記第1の屈折力は前記第2の屈折力よりも大きい、請求項14に記載のWHUD。
- 前記第2の屈折力はゼロ以下である、請求項15に記載のWHUD。
- 画像をユーザの眼に投影し、且つ、前記ユーザの前記眼を追跡するようレーザプロジェクタを操作する方法であって、
前記レーザプロジェクタの少なくとも第1のレーザダイオードによって可視光を出力することであって、前記可視光は前記画像の少なくとも一部を表すことと、
前記レーザプロジェクタの赤外レーザダイオードによって赤外光を出力することと、
前記レーザプロジェクタの走査ミラーによって前記可視光及び前記赤外光の両方を制御可能に、且つ、反射して走査することと、
波長多重化HOEによって前記ユーザの前記眼に前記可視光及び前記赤外光の両方を向け直すことと、
赤外光検出器によって前記ユーザの前記眼からの前記赤外光の少なくとも一部の反射を検出することと、
前記赤外光検出器によって検出された前記ユーザの前記眼からの前記赤外光の少なくとも一部の反射に基づいて前記眼の少なくとも1つの特徴の位置を判断することと、を含む、

前記波長多重化HOEの第2のホログラムによって第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加することであって、前記第2の屈折力は前記第1の屈折力とは異なることと、を含む、請求項17に記載の方法。 - 前記波長多重化HOEの第1のホログラムによって第1の屈折力を前記可視光に印加することは、前記波長多重化HOEの前記第1のホログラムによって第1の正の屈折力を前記可視光に印加することを含み、前記波長多重化HOEの第2のホログラムによって第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加することは、前記波長多重化HOEの前記第2のホログラムによって前記第1の屈折力よりも小さい第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加することを含む、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記波長多重化HOEの前記第2のホログラムによって前記第1の屈折力よりも小さい第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加することは、前記波長多重化HOEの前記第2のホログラムによってゼロ以下の第2の屈折力を前記赤外光に印加することを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記赤外光検出器によって検出された前記ユーザの前記眼からの前記赤外光の前記反射に基づいて前記眼の少なくとも1つの特徴の位置を判断することは、プロセッサによって前記ユーザの前記眼からの前記赤外光の前記反射に基づいて前記眼の少なくとも1つの特徴の前記位置を判断することを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記レーザプロジェクタの少なくとも第1のレーザダイオードによって可視光を出力することは、
前記レーザプロジェクタの赤色レーザダイオードによって赤色光を出力すること、
前記レーザプロジェクタの緑色レーザダイオードによって緑色光を出力すること、及び/又は、
前記レーザプロジェクタの青色レーザダイオードによって青色光を出力すること、のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
