Abstract
Description
これより、本発明を以下の実施例を特に参照して説明するが、本発明を限定することは意図されず、むしろ、例示的な実施形態を示すために提供される。
繊維性貯蔵部基材としての使用に好適な不織布材料を作製し、湿潤後の厚さの変化に関して評価した。繊維性貯蔵部は酢酸セルロースから形成し、1.8mmの初期乾燥平均厚さを有した。対照試料の厚さは、試験中変化しなかった。試験試料は24.5mm×18mmのサイズに形成し、同一の開始厚さを有した。酢酸セルロース貯蔵部の試験試料1を、100%の水から形成された湿潤液での液浸によって湿潤させ、試験試料2を、80:15:5の重量比率のグリセリンと、プロピレングリコールと、水との組み合わせから形成された湿潤液での液浸によって湿潤させた。湿潤した試験試料のうちのそれぞれを、ローラプレスに3回通過させた。ローラを互いに物理的に接触するように調節し、試験試料をローラの間に通過させて、あるパーセンテージの液体を除去した。ローリング後の酢酸セルロース試料の平均厚さの変化を、以下の表1に示す。
複数の酢酸セルロース貯蔵部基材試料を作製して、液体保持能力を評価した。全ての試料を、1平方メートル当たり160グラム(gsm)の坪量及び24.5mm×18mm×1.8mm(厚さ)の寸法を有する試料ストックから作製した。乾燥酢酸セルロース基材(対照試料)及び試験試料3〜7を秤量し、これらを最大保持まで水で飽和させ、実施例1に記載するようにローラ組立体によってプレスした。ローラ組立体によってプレスした後の各試料の重量を、以下の表2に示す。
乾燥した、事前に湿潤させた酢酸セルロース貯蔵部基材における吸収速度を評価した。対照及び試験基材試料は、1.8mmの初期厚さで、約24.5mm×18mmであった。試験及び対照試料に液体を適用し、DynoLite顕微鏡を使用してビデオによって吸収速度を記録した。
