Description

図7におけるガラス基板1の屈折率をn1、ITO電極2の屈折率をn2、ITO電極2のさらに内側である液晶層側に成形するSiOx膜12の屈折率をn3とすると、その透過率T[SiOx]は、前述の(3)式と同じ式で表すことができる。そして、例えばx=1.5である場合、ガラスの屈折率n1=1.52、ITOの屈折率n2=2.00、SiOxの屈折率n3=1.75を代入すると、T[SiOx]=0.977となる。
この結果、この実施の形態2における高透過ITO膜付きガラス20においては、ITO電極2の膜厚が8nmである場合に、SiOx膜12(1≦x<2)の膜厚が200nmに近いほど、従来に比べてより透過率の高いITO膜付きガラスとすることができる、ということがわかる。
