Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の酸素還元触媒が用いられる燃料電池の概略構成図である。
(1) N2H4+4OH−→N2+4H2O+4e− (燃料側電極2での反応)
(2) O2+2H2O+4e−→4OH− (酸素側電極3での反応)
(3) N2H4+O2→N2+2H2O (燃料電池1全体での反応)
すなわち、燃料側電極2では、ヒドラジン(N2H4)と酸素側電極3での反応で生成した水酸化物イオン(OH−)とが反応して、窒素(N2)および水(H2O)が生成するとともに、電子(e−)が発生する(上記式(1)参照)。
以下、上記した酸素側電極3に用いられる酸素還元触媒について説明する。
例えば、まず、遷移金属錯体と可溶性粒子との粒子混合物を焼成して、遷移金属錯体と可溶性粒子とをランダムに含有する複合物を作製し、その後、複合物中の可溶性粒子を除去する方法が挙げられる。
(式中、Aは、希土類元素およびアルカリ土類金属から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を示し、Bは、貴金属を除く遷移元素およびAlから選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を示す。)
一般式(1)において、Aで示される希土類元素としては、例えば、Sc(スカンジウム)、Y(イットリウム)、La(ランタン)、Pr(プラセオジム)、Nd(ネオジム)、Pm(プロメチウム)、Sm(サマリウム)、Eu(ユーロピウム)、Gd(ガドリニウム)、Tb(テルビウム)、Dy(ジスプロシウム)、Ho(ホルミウム)、Er(エルビウム)、Tm(ツリウム)、Yb(イッテルビウム)、Lu(ルテチウム)などが挙げられる。
(上記式中、Nは捕捉率(−IR/ID)を示す。)
そのため、酸素還元触媒は、燃料電池1の酸素側電極3(カソード)用の酸素還元触媒として好適に用いられ、とりわけ、ヒドラジンを液体燃料とする燃料電池1の酸素側電極3(カソード)用の酸素還元触媒として好適に用いられる。
硝酸ランタン、硝酸ストロンチウム、硝酸マンガンおよび硝酸コバルトと、ポリビニルピロリドン(PVP)とを、超純水に配合し、溶解させた。このとき、硝酸ランタン、硝酸ストロンチウム、硝酸マンガンおよび硝酸コバルトの配合割合を、モル基準で、ランタン(La):ストロンチウム(Sr):マンガン(Mn):コバルト(Co)=0.6:0.4:0.7:0.3となるように調整した。
鉄錯体の焼成体であるNPC−2000(市販品、Pajarito社製)と、製造例1で得られたペロブスカイト型複合酸化物と乾式混合した。このとき、NPC−2000(市販品、Pajarito社製)100質量部に対して、製造例1で得られたペロブスカイト型複合酸化物を100質量部(質量比1:1)配合した。これにより、酸素還元触媒を得た。
NPC−2000(市販品、Pajarito社製)と、製造例1で得られたペロブスカイト型複合酸化物との配合割合を、表1に示す通りに変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、酸素還元触媒を得た。
実施例または比較例で得られた酸素還元触媒とアイオノマーを有機溶媒中に分散して調製したインクを、グラッシーカーボン上に滴下し、測定電極とした。

Claims (2)
- 遷移金属錯体の焼成体と、
ペロブスカイト型複合酸化物と
を含有し、
前記焼成体100質量部に対して、
前記ペロブスカイト型複合酸化物の含有割合が、10質量部以上1000質量部以下である
ことを特徴とする、酸素還元触媒。 - 遷移金属錯体を焼成した焼成体を準備する工程と、
前記焼成体およびペロブスカイト型複合酸化物を、前記焼成体100質量部に対して、前記ペロブスカイト型複合酸化物が、10質量部以上1000質量部以下となるように混合する工程と
を備えることを特徴とする、酸素還元触媒の製造方法。
