Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る電気光学装置を示す概略図である。図1に示すように、本実施形態の電気光学装置1は、複数の表示部DI1,DI2,・・・,DInと、それぞれの表示部DI1〜DInを制御する制御部CPと、輝度バランス調整入力部51と、全体明るさ調整入力部52と、電源回路DCと、を備える。なお、電気光学装置1は少なくとも2つの表示部を備えている限りにおいて、その数は特に限定されない。
以上説明したように、本実施形態の電気光学装置1によれば、上記のように、所定の第1制御線SL1が選択されてから次に当該第1制御線SL1が選択されるまでの期間における電流経路の導通回数を変化させることで、当該期間における電源線VLから発光素子Leへの電流の入力回数を変化させて全体明るさが調整される。また、所定の周期毎の電流経路の導通時間を変化させることで、当該所定の周期毎における電源線VLから発光素子Leへの電流の入力時間を変化させて輝度バランスが調整される。この所定の周期毎の電流経路の導通時間と、所定の第1制御線SL1が選択されてから次に当該第1制御線SL1が選択されるまでの期間における電流経路の導通回数とは、互いに独立して調整することができる。すなわち、制御部CPは、当該期間における電源線VLから発光素子Leへの電流の入力回数と、当該所定の周期毎における電源線VLから発光素子Leへの電流の入力時間とを独立して調整することができる。従って本実施形態の電気光学装置1によれば全体明るさの調整及びそれぞれの表示部間の輝度バランスの調整を独立して行うことができる。

Claims (6)
- 複数の表示部と、
制御部と、
を備え、
前記表示部のそれぞれは、複数の走査線と複数のデータ線とが交差する各交差位置に対応して配置される複数の画素を有し、
前記複数の画素の各々は、走査線が選択されてから次に当該走査線が選択されるまでの期間において電源線から所定の周期で入力する電流により発光する発光素子を有し、
前記制御部は、前記期間における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力回数及び前記所定の周期毎における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力時間の一方が互いに異なる表示部において互いに連動して変化し、他方が互いに異なる表示部において互いに独立して変化するように前記表示部を制御する
ことを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 前記表示部は一対とされ、
一方の表示部は人の一方の眼で視認され、他方の表示部は人の他方の眼で視認される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記表示部は互いに異なる色の光を発光し、それぞれの前記表示部から出射する光が互いに重ね合わされる
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 制御部は、互いに異なる表示部において、前記期間における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力回数が互い連動して変化し、前記所定の周期毎における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力時間が互いに独立して変化するように前記表示部を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記所定の周期は、それぞれの走査線が順次選択される周期とされる
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 複数の表示部と、
制御部と、
を備える電気光学装置の制御方法であって、
前記表示部のそれぞれは、複数の走査線と複数のデータ線とが交差する各交差位置に対応して配置される複数の画素を有し、
前記複数の画素の各々は、走査線が選択されてから次に当該走査線が選択されるまでの期間において電源線から所定の周期で入力する電流により発光する発光素子を有し、
前記制御部は、前記期間における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力回数及び前記所定の周期毎における前記電源線から前記発光素子への電流の入力時間の一方が互いに異なる表示部において互いに連動して変化し、他方が互いに異なる表示部において互いに独立して変化するように前記表示部を制御する
ことを特徴とする電気光学装置の制御方法。
