Abstract
【解決手段】オゾン供給制御装置は、排気中のNOxを吸着して還元する触媒が配置されている排気通路のうち、触媒の上流側へオゾンを供給するオゾン供給装置の作動を制御する。このオゾン供給制御装置は、ステップS200による推定部、およびステップS26によるNO2酸化制御部を備える。推定部は、触媒に吸着されているNOxのうちNO2の吸着量を推定する。NO2酸化制御部は、推定部により推定されたNO2吸着量が所定の閾値TH1以上であり、かつ、触媒温度が活性化温度未満である場合に、排気通路へオゾンを供給して、触媒に吸着されているNO2を酸化させる。

Description
図1に示す燃焼システムは、以下に詳述する内燃機関(以下、エンジン10)、過給機11、NOx浄化装置12、微粒子捕集装置(以下、DPF13)、および還元剤添加装置を備える。燃焼システムは車両に搭載されたものであり、当該車両は、エンジン10の出力を駆動源として走行する。エンジン10は、圧縮自着火式のディーゼルエンジンであり、燃焼に用いる燃料には、炭化水素化合物である軽油を用いている。エンジン10は、基本的にはリーン状態で燃焼させるように作動する。つまり、燃焼室に噴射された燃料と燃焼室に吸入される空気との比率である空燃比が、空気過剰に設定された状態で燃焼(つまり、リーン燃焼)させている。
上記第1実施形態では、図6のステップS200に示す手順で弱NOx量を推定している。これに対し本実施形態では、ステップS200による推定処理を、図8のステップS200aに示す処理に変更させている。具体的には、先ず図8のステップS20、S21、S22、S23において、図6と同様にして、NOx吸着時の触媒温度が高いほど、NOxの瞬時吸着量に対するNO2の瞬時吸着量の割合を小さく見積もって、瞬時NO2吸着量の積算値を算出する。
本実施形態では、上記第1実施形態に係る図6の処理を、図9の処理に変更している。先ず、図9のステップS20aにおいて、エンジン10から排出されるNOx量が所定量未満であるか否かを判定する。具体的には、先述したエンジン負荷が所定の閾値TH3未満であれば、排出されるNOx量が所定量未満であるとみなす。
本実施形態では、上記第1実施形態に係る図6の処理に、図10に示すステップS23dの処理を追加している。このステップS23dでは、ステップS24の判定に用いる閾値TH1を、エンジン10の運転状態に基づき変更して設定する。例えば、排出されるNOx量が所定量未満となるような運転状態の場合に、所定量以上である場合に比べて閾値TH1を低くする。具体的には、エンジン負荷が所定の閾値TH3未満であれば、排出されるNOx量が所定量未満であるとみなし、閾値TH1を低下させる。
上記第1実施形態では、オゾンを供給する機能を有した還元剤添加装置がオゾン供給装置を提供している。これに対し本実施形態では、図1に示す反応容器20、ヒータ21および噴射弁22を廃止した装置であって、図11に示すオゾン供給装置を提供している。このオゾン供給装置は、オゾナイザ30、送風機50、供給管26、接続管23および開閉弁26vを備える。
以上、発明の好ましい実施形態について説明したが、発明は上述した実施形態に何ら制限されることなく、以下に例示するように種々変形して実施することが可能である。各実施形態で具体的に組合せが可能であることを明示している部分同士の組合せばかりではなく、特に組合せに支障が生じなければ、明示してなくとも実施形態同士を部分的に組み合せることも可能である。
Claims (6)
- 内燃機関(10)の排気中のNOxを吸着して還元する触媒が配置されている排気通路(10ex)のうち、前記触媒の上流側へオゾンを供給するオゾン供給装置の作動を制御するオゾン供給制御装置において、
前記触媒に吸着されているNOxのうちNO2の吸着量を推定する推定部(S200、S200a)と、
前記推定部により推定されたNO2吸着量が所定の閾値以上であり、かつ、触媒温度が活性化温度未満である場合に、前記排気通路へオゾンを供給して前記触媒に吸着されているNO2を酸化させるNO2酸化制御部(S26)と、
を備えるオゾン供給制御装置。 - 前記推定部は、前記触媒へのNO2の瞬時吸着量を積算した値を前記NO2吸着量として推定しており、NOx吸着時の触媒温度が高いほど、NOxの瞬時吸着量に対するNO2の瞬時吸着量の割合を小さく見積もってNO2の瞬時吸着量を推定する請求項1に記載のオゾン供給制御装置。
- 前記触媒に吸着されているNOxのうち、温度上昇に伴いNO2からNO3に遷移した量をNO3遷移量とし、
前記推定部は、NO2の瞬時吸着量を積算した値よりも前記NO3遷移量だけ少ない値を、前記NO2吸着量として推定する請求項2に記載のオゾン供給制御装置。 - 前記推定部は、触媒温度が高いほど前記NO3遷移量を多く見積もって前記NO2吸着量を推定する請求項3に記載のオゾン供給制御装置。
- 触媒温度が活性化温度未満である場合に、前記排気通路へオゾンを供給して排気中のNOを酸化させるNO酸化制御部(S15)と、
前記内燃機関から排出されるNOx量が所定量未満である場合には、前記NO2吸着量が前記閾値以上であるか否かに拘らず、前記排気通路へオゾンを供給して前記触媒に吸着されているNO2を酸化させる臨時NO2酸化制御部(S20a、S26)と、
を備える請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載のオゾン供給制御装置。 - 触媒温度が活性化温度未満である場合に、前記排気通路へオゾンを供給して排気中のNOを酸化させるNO酸化制御部(S15)を備え、
前記閾値は、前記内燃機関から排出されるNOx量が所定量未満である場合には、所定量以上である場合に比べて低い値に設定される請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載のオゾン供給制御装置。
