Description
Claims (2)
- 入力信号およびバイアス電圧に応じて光を変調する変調部と、
前記バイアス電圧を設定するバイアス設定部と、
前記バイアス電圧にパイロット信号を含ませるパイロット信号生成部と、
前記変調部の出力光から前記パイロット信号を検出する検出部と、を備え、
前記変調部は、
印加電圧の変化に対して周期的に前記出力光の大きさが変化する特性を有し、
前記バイアス設定部は、
前記パイロット信号と前記検出部による検出値との極性の関係、および、前記バイアス電圧の変化に対する前記検出値の変化を示す特性に基づいて探索開始電圧を決定し、
前記探索開始電圧を基準として前記バイアス電圧を変化させながら、前記検出値が目標条件を満たすときの適切バイアス電圧を探索し、
前記バイアス電圧を前記適切バイアス電圧に設定する、
ことを特徴とする光変調装置。 - 請求項1に記載の光変調装置において、
前記バイアス設定部は、
第1の刻み幅で前記バイアス電圧を変化させながら、前記検出値の大きさが極大値となるときの極大バイアス電圧を探索し、
前記極大バイアス電圧、および、前記バイアス電圧に対する前記出力光の周期に基づいて、前記探索開始電圧を決定し、
前記第1の刻み幅よりも小さい第2の刻み幅で前記探索開始電圧から前記バイアス電圧を変化させながら、前記検出値の大きさが極小値となるときの前記バイアス電圧を探索する、
ことを特徴とする光変調装置。
