Abstract
Description
本願は、米国特許出願第12/571,523号(2009年10月1日出願)の一部継続出願であり、その主題を参照することにより全体を本願に援用する。
(a)前記ドットの上面が実質的に平面である;

(a)前記ドットの上面が実質的に平面である;
(b)前記ドットのショルダー角が、(i)前記ドットの全体のショルダー角が50°超であるか又は(ii)θ1が70°超であり且つθ2が45°未満である角度である;
(c)版全体のレリーフに対する百分率として測定される前記レリーフドット間のレリーフの深度が約9%超である;及び
(d)前記レリーフドットのエッジのシャープさが、re:p比が5%未満であるシャープさである;

a)前記レーザアブレーション可能なマスク層を選択的にレーザアブレーションして、前記光硬化性層にその場マスク及び非被覆部分を形成する工程と、
b)前記その場マスクを通して少なくとも1つの化学線源にレーザアブレーションされた印刷ブランクを曝露して、前記光硬化性層の一部を選択的に架橋及び硬化させる工程と

工程(b)の前に前記光硬化性層のその場マスク及び任意の非被覆部分上に拡散バリアを配置することによって前記少なくとも1層の光硬化性層への酸素の拡散を制限する方法に関する。
i)曝露工程の前に、前記光硬化性層のその場マスク及び任意の非被覆部分に積層されるバリア膜、並びに
ii)曝露工程の前に、前記光硬化性層のその場マスク及び任意の非被覆部分にコーティングされる液体、好ましくは油の層からなる群より選択されることが好ましく、
前記バリア膜及び/又は液体の層の酸素拡散係数は、6.9×10−9m2/秒未満、好ましくは6.9×10−10m2/秒未満、最も好ましくは6.9×10−11m2/秒未満である。

(1)光硬化性層のその場マスク及び任意の非被覆部分を被覆するためにフレキソ版上にバリア膜を積層する。前記膜は、その場マスクを作製するためにレーザアブレーションされた後であるが、化学線に曝露される前に適用するのが最も有益である場合がある。また、本発明者らは、このシートを用いて版の印刷表面に明確なテクスチャを付与することができることを見出した。これが、この方法の更なる特徴及び利点である。
(2)液体、好ましくは油の層でその場マスク及び任意の非被覆フォトポリマー層をコーティングする。
前記バリア膜及び/又は液体の層の酸素拡散係数は、6.9×10−9m2/秒未満、好ましくは6.9×10−10m2/秒未満、最も好ましくは6.9×10−11m2/秒未満である。

Claims (7)
- レリーフ像印刷要素において作製された複数のレリーフドットの製造方法であって、
前記レリーフ像印刷要素が、順に、レーザーアブレーション可能なマスク層、少なくとも一つのフォトポリマー層、及び支持シートからなり、
前記複数のレリーフドットが、デジタル製版プロセスにより前記少なくとも一つのフォトポリマー層に作製されるものであり、
前記デジタル製版プロセスが、
(i)前記レーザーアブレーション可能なマスク層をレーザーアブレーションしてその場ネガを作製し;
(ii)前記少なくとも一つのフォトポリマー層を、前記その場ネガを通して選択的に架橋するように化学線を選択的に露光し;
(iii)次いで、前記少なくとも一つのフォトポリマー層の未架橋の部分を取り除く工程を含み、
前記複数のレリーフドットが、
(a)前記レリーフドットの上面の平面性が、前記レリーフドットの上面の曲率半径rtがフォトポリマー層の総厚みを超える平面性である;
(b)前記レリーフドットの頂上に最も近接するショルダー角θ1が70°超であり且つ前記レリーフドットのフロア付着部に最も近接するショルダー角θ2が45°未満である角度である;
(c)前記レリーフドットのエッジのシャープさが、ドットのショルダーと頂上との交点における曲率半径reと、ドット頂上の距離pのre:p比が5%未満であるシャープさである;及び
(d)版全体のレリーフに対する百分率として測定される前記レリーフドット間のレリーフの深度が、9%超である;
の(a)から(d)の幾何学的特徴を含み、
前記複数のレリーフドットの頂上が円形であることを特徴とする複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。 - レリーフドットの上面の平面性が、前記レリーフドットの上面の曲率半径rtがフォトポリマー層の総厚みを超える平面性である請求項1に記載の複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。
- レリーフドット間のレリーフの深度が、版全体のレリーフの12%超である請求項1に記載の複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。
- レリーフドットのエッジのシャープさが、re:p比が2%未満であるシャープさである請求項1に記載の複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。
- 複数のレリーフドットの頂部表面が、明確なトポグラフィックパターンを有する請求項1に記載のフレキソレリーフ像印刷要素の製造方法。
- 複数のレリーフドットの平均表面粗度が、100nm未満である請求項1に記載の複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。
- 複数のレリーフドットの平均表面粗度が、700nm〜800nmである請求項1に記載の複数のレリーフドットの製造方法。
