Abstract
Description
上記検出電極と上記絶縁部材との積層方向において、隣り合う上記検出電極は、互いに異なる極性を有し、
上記積層方向に直交する方向において、上記複数の検出電極の少なくとも一部を上記絶縁部材から露出させ、上記粒子状物質の一部を堆積させる被堆積部を有しており、
該被堆積部において、一方の極性を有する上記検出電極の上記積層方向における幅は、他方の極性を有する上記検出電極の上記積層方向における幅よりも大きいことを特徴とする粒子状物質検出素子にある。
上記粒子状物質検出素子にかかる実施例について、図1〜図3を用いて説明する。
上記粒子状物質検出素子1は、図1に示すごとく、内燃機関から排出される排ガスに含まれる粒子状物質を検出するための複数の検出電極2と、電気絶縁性を備えた材料からなる複数の絶縁部材3とを積層した積層部4を有する。検出電極2と絶縁部材3との積層方向Xにおいて、隣り合う検出電極2は、互いに異なる極性を有する。粒子状物質検出素子1は、積層方向Xに直交する方向において、複数の検出電極2の少なくとも一部を絶縁部材3から露出させ、粒子状物質の一部を堆積させる被堆積部5を有している。図2に示すごとく、被堆積部5において、一方の極性を有する検出電極2の積層方向Xにおける幅W1は、他方の極性を有する検出電極2の積層方向Xにおける幅W2よりも大きい。
上記粒子状物質検出素子1は、被堆積部5において、一方の極性を有する検出電極2の積層方向Xにおける幅W1が、他方の極性を有する検出電極2の積層方向Xにおける幅W2よりも大きい。それゆえ、粒子状物質検出素子1の厚みの増加を抑制しつつ、粒子状物質の残渣によって検出電極2が埋没してしまうことを抑制することができる。
本試験においては、粒子状物質検出素子1の正極21の幅W2に対する負極22の幅W1の比率W1/W2を変化させた際の検出感度への影響を確認した。

Claims (2)
- 内燃機関から排出される排ガスに含まれる粒子状物質を検出するための複数の検出電極(2)と、電気絶縁性を備えた材料からなる複数の絶縁部材(3)とを積層した積層部4を有する粒子状物質検出素子(1)において、
上記検出電極(2)と上記絶縁部材(3)との積層方向(X)において、隣り合う上記検出電極(2)は、互いに異なる極性を有し、
上記積層方向(X)に直交する方向において、上記複数の検出電極(2)の少なくとも一部を上記絶縁部材(3)から露出させ、上記粒子状物質の一部を堆積させる被堆積部(5)を有しており、
該被堆積部(5)において、一方の極性を有する上記検出電極(2)の上記積層方向(X)における幅(W1)は、他方の極性を有する上記検出電極(2)の上記積層方向(X)における幅(W2)よりも大きいことを特徴とする粒子状物質検出素子(1)。 - 上記被堆積部(5)において、一方の極性を有する上記検出電極(2)の上記積層方向(X)における幅(W1)は、他方の極性を有する上記検出電極(2)の上記積層方向(X)における幅(W2)の1.5倍以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の粒子状物質検出素子(1)。
