Abstract
Description
第1三元触媒が、
活性アルミナ、セリウム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物および触媒活性を有する貴金属としてのパラジウムを含む、不活性触媒担体上の第1層と、
活性アルミナおよび触媒活性を有する貴金属としてのロジウムを含む、第1層上に適用された、浄化すべき排ガスと直接接触する第2層であって、セリウムもセリウム含有物質も含まず、かつロジウム以外の触媒活性を有する貴金属を一切含まない第2層と
を含む、三元触媒系を提供する。
国際公開第2008/000449A2号パンフレットに従い同一の2層型三元触媒2個を組み合わせて三元触媒系とし、参照用試料として使用した。これらはそれぞれ、上記公開公報に記載された製法に従い、次に示すように調製した:
a)第1層は、酸化ランタンで安定化された酸化アルミニウム(La2O3を3重量%含み、比表面積が140m2/gである)を、ZrO2含有率が50%である第1Ce−Zr複合酸化物および塩基性成分としての水酸化ストロンチウムと混合することにより水性懸濁液を調製した。Pd(NO3)2を貴金属前駆体として使用し、全ての酸化物上に付着させた。懸濁液を最終処理(finalize)した後、生のコーディエライト基材に第1層をコーティングし、次いで乾燥ステップに付した。焼成後の第1層の組成を示す。
80g/L La安定化酸化アルミニウム
55g/L 第1CeZr複合酸化物
10g/L 酸化ストロンチウム(全成分上)
2.72g/L パラジウム(全成分上)
70g/L La安定化酸化アルミニウム
65g/L 第2CeZr複合酸化物
0.11g/L ロジウム(全成分上)
本発明の三元触媒系を得るために、上流側基材はCC1と同じものを使用し、下流側基材を次に示すように生成した:
a)比較例のステップa)に記載した方法と全く同様にしてコーディエライト基材に接する第1層を調製し、同一組成物を得た。

68g/L Zr/Nd複合酸化物
0.11g/L ロジウム(全成分上)
Claims (15)
- 不活性触媒担体上の2層型触媒である第1三元触媒と、
第2三元触媒と
を含む三元触媒系であって、
前記第1三元触媒が、
活性アルミナ、セリウム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物および触媒活性を有する貴金属としてのパラジウムを含む、前記不活性触媒担体上の第1層と、
活性アルミナおよび触媒活性を有する貴金属としてのロジウムを含む、前記第1層に適用された、浄化すべき排ガスと直接接触する第2層であって、セリウムもセリウム含有物質も含まず、かつロジウム以外に触媒活性を有する貴金属を一切含まない、第2層と、
を含む、三元触媒系。 - 前記第1三元触媒の前記第1層において、パラジウム以外の触媒活性を有する貴金属として白金またはロジウムまたはこれらの混合物が使用されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第1層が、パラジウム以外に触媒活性を有する貴金属を一切含まないことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第1層の前記セリウム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物の酸化セリウム対酸化ジルコニウムの重量比が0.1〜1.2であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第2層が、ネオジム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第1層の前記ネオジム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物の酸化ネオジム対酸化ジルコニウムの重量比が0.2〜0.5であることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第2層中のロジウムが、活性アルミナおよびネオジム/ジルコニウム複合酸化物の両方に付着していることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記第2層が、前記第1三元触媒の前記第1層を完全に覆っていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒の前記不活性触媒担体が、ハニカム構造を有するフロースルー型モノリス体であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第2三元触媒が、高表面積を有する耐火性酸化物担体上に1種または複数種の白金族金属を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第2三元触媒が、1種または複数種の酸素吸蔵成分を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒が前記第2三元触媒と異なることを特徴とする、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒および前記第2三元触媒が異なる不活性触媒担体上に担持されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 前記第1三元触媒および前記第2三元触媒が同一の不活性触媒担体上に担持されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載の三元触媒系の、ガソリンエンジンを搭載した自動車の排ガスを浄化するための使用であって、前記第2三元触媒が前記第1三元触媒の上流側に位置する、使用。
